First, I would like to address the report made by Anne Diaferio, which I believe contains statements that do not accurately reflect what happened that day. I will not disclose my family member's name for privacy reasons, as I believe every employee deserves to have their identity and personal information respected. Here is what actually happened from my family member's perspective. I have access to security camera footage from inside and outside the store that may help provide a clearer understanding of the situation. My family member was covering a shift because the coworker scheduled to open the store had been hospitalized. She went out of her way to get to Sally Beauty as quickly as possible to open the store and help keep business running. At the time, the store was understaffed, and there was no manager present for months. My family member made the effort to leave her family to step in and fulfill her work responsibilities. Anne was waiting outside and understandably upset that the store was not open. However, according to my family member, she was politely asked to wait due to the unexpected circumstances. Instead, Anne allegedly continued yelling, banging on the window, using profanity, and speaking disrespectfully toward my family member. This made my family member extremely uncomfortable, and the situation escalated from there. This was a misunderstanding that could have been handled differently, but my family member should not be unfairly portrayed online for simply trying to do her job. I am concerned about the statements being made publicly and the potential impact on my family member's reputation and privacy. Requests to address the report and the privacy concerns have reportedly been made multiple times, and I believe these concerns deserve to be taken seriously. My family member also filed a police report regarding the incident that day. I understand there are concerns about Anne returning to Sally Beauty, and I believe any restrictions regarding access to the store should be addressed through the appropriate authorities and management. Unfortunately, this situation reflects broader concerns about my family member's experience working at Sally Beauty. During her 10 months of employment, there were concerns regarding understaffing, compensation, unnecessary workplace drama, and a lack of professional support. Employees who work hard, cover shifts, and make sacrifices to keep stores operating deserve respect and consideration from their employer. The photographs I intend to share provide additional context regarding the interaction between my family member and Anne. They appear to show my family member maintaining distance while Anne continued approaching her. I believe the available photographs and security footage should be reviewed fairly before conclusions are drawn about what happened. I do not believe any employee should have to experience this type of situation while trying to fulfill their job responsibilities.
