Office/administration was less than helpful in processing a refund. My concern over business…read moreoperations detracts from the care staff who were pleasant and professional, but we decided to not move in so I have no day-to-day personal interaction.

First the good- very beautiful building, nice to visit…read more good food, very nice wait staff and chef in dining room. Pretty grounds, flat and good for walking. quiet location. Very kind front desk staff. The cleaning staff is very good and the maintenace staff are also excellent, The Cons- 1-Rent will increase 7-8% every year to the day. 2-If you pay for showers, your parent may or may not get them, maybe 25-50% of the time. They seem understaffed and do not have a transparent way to keep track, report or let family know 3- the elderly must put their laundry into the hallway for pick up which is difficult given that the doors are very heavy and most residents use walkers and canes. 4- Do not rent and apartment on the 3rd floor unless your parent is able to use stairs, the elevator breaks at least once a year due to water issues and there is only 1 elevator to the 3rd floor so they are stuck up there until it is fixed which sometimes is weeks if they can't use the stairs. 5- Since the corporation of IVY park took over this facility, the most of the staff turns over every 1-2 months. you will not get to know a caregiver, they don't even attempt to introduce you to care givers. The management, nursing, and activity directors change about every 2 months so there is very little accountability. the only staff that has been constant is the waiters, the maintenance crew and the front desk. 6- their "fall and call button" is a one way system (no voice) so the elderly do not know if the call has been received and the response can take up to 2 hours or never, so if your parent is mildly cognitively impaired and does not carry or cannot use a cell phone, it is not a reliably safe system. Unfortunately they have not invested in a better and more updated system. Overall, it's very hard to find good care for the elderly and Ivy Park, despite the high cost is a mixed bag. I'm not sure that any other place is better, but just be aware of what you are getting into before you sign on the dotted line.

Throughout his time at this amazing board and care house, he thrived and had top-notch care. Lawrence, the owner, is very hands-on and is often there to ensure all residents are comfortable and have their needs met. The caregivers are simply amazing, dedicated human beings who go above and beyond their jobs. Bonnie, Lydia, Rebecca, Jose, and others truly cared about my dad as a human being. When my dad was in his last days and hospice was called in, they literally got up every hour in the middle of the night, to check on my dad and make sure he was okay. This goes well-above what we expected. This truly is a home, and the six rooms for residents truly feel like any house would feel. One thing my dad especially loved, the food! His favorite subject while living at Springtime Residence was the food he had at each meal. The caregivers became his friends and part of our extended family. They were loving, gentle, and saw to all of his needs. If you are looking for THE BEST in a home-like environment, then Springtime Residence is your destination for top-notch care. We feel very lucky my dad spent his final months there.

Though my mother received kind care, dealing with the owners/operators has been the worst business…read moreexperience of my life. If you don't mind being nickel-and-dimed to death, overcharged, and constantly having them tell you "our contract is very clear"-- then you might be just fine. It started out badly --with them asking for a $1000 deposit to "hold the room"-- which did not get applied toward the rent or anything. It ended the same way. They said "not to worry" about having to rush my mother's belongings out of the room the day she passed away (which I specifically asked-- so I wouldn't incur extra charges).. --But they charged me $140 a day for every one of the 3 days that her furniture was still there. And even charged me for an extra day--after I had moved everything out. To add insult to injury, they had the gall to invoice me for $14-- for an AC adapter they said was missing. That small amount, which they could have easily written off as a business expense, was so important to them, it was totally unfeeling and disgusting. I feel bad for her caregivers, who are good people, but there are plenty of other board and care homes to choose from. I am sorry I didn't see the huge red flag from the get-go.
