The first part of our cruise was enjoyable but the second part was somewhat less enjoyable due to a family of five (mom, dad and 3 rather unruly kids) who sat in front of us. The 3 kids was not well behaved and the parents did little to get them to behave. The boat was crowded at this point and moving to another seat was not an option. The views of the city from the water were great and well worth the price of the ticket. But, the narration did not add much value to the tour. And we could have done without the kids.

The most notable landmark is the legendary London Eye, but also the main three landmark bridges: London Bridge, Tower Bridge and the Hungerford Bridge. For those who yearn for incredible pictures then this cruise is for you. It really doesnt matter which boat you take as long as you are on the Thames River. It is one of those London attractions that is bloody expensive (aren't they all?) but well worth every penny. Or pence, as it were. Definitely a highlight of our time in London. It helps that we lucked out with the weather - perfect temperature and barely a cloud in the sky. Our guide was Max who did such a great job of cracking jokes while being informative and making sure everyone had a good time. Absolutely brilliant at his job and deserves all of the accolades. Once out of the central London area, the boat guns the engines and takes off with a carefully curated playlist blasting on the speakers (rocketing down the Thames with the James Bond theme music playing and my son by my side is an instant life highlight). My son loved when the boat did sharp, high speed turns which lifted one side of the boat practically perpendicular to the water. Not for the faint of heart! The whole tour lasted about an hour and was loads of fun. I've done loads of boat tours around Europe and this was easily the most fun I've ever had. Highly recommended!

This is a rip off. We booked two tickets to go on this but the instructions sent us to the wrong…read morepier making us late. When we went to speak with them about this we were told that they'd let one of us sit on standby for an open seat but that if anyone else showed up and paid for a ticket that person would just get bumped from the ride. They were not interested in addressing the fact that they sent us to the wrong place or making this right in any way. Their entire stance was basically that customers are ripping *them* off by getting sent to the wrong pier, showing up late or trying to reschedule. They made it sound like they were just too booked to do anything about this. We wound up going to the HMS Belfast and on one of the cruises with a day pass that let us go up and down the river for the afternoon. Now imagine my surprise when during the hours we were on the river doing other things their boats kept coming by with one, maybe two passengers. They're essentially raking in tickets for 16 people per trip while honoring less than a quarter of those tickets and issuing absolutely no refunds. Go with another company. Go with another activity. Don't pay all of that money for absolutely nothing.

We bought our tickets from at the ticket booth at Hampton Court located on the River Thames just across the Thames from the Big London Eye and directly across the street from Big Ben. If you have a Travel Card which is a daily travel pass, you can receive a 30% discount. Our 1100 departure came and went but eventully this smal boat arrived and docked closer to 1115am. The three person crew were very friendly, welcomed us aboard and off we went. We were lucky enough to be on The Connaught, a vintage ship from the Edwardian times celebrating her 99th year plying the Thames; fortunately, her engine and crew were not that old! This ship has an open deck up front as well as in the back but if you want to stay out of the wind and cool breezes there is a large covered area below with windows, tables and chairs and a bar! We became very friendly with the bar tender buying several pints of beer. The captain of the Connaught gave commentary along the way which was nice but he also just let us enjoy the peace and quiet to enjoy the beauty of the Thames. Immediately upon our departure, I realized how the Thames slices through Central London and winds its way through the city. If you are a Planespotter, you'll love this trip too because we pretty much followed the landing and take off patterns of London's Heathrow airport; we were lucky enough to be under Emirates new A380 from Dubai as it made its final approach to LHR, the wingspan seemed to dwarf that of the 747-400!. We passed many old buildings on the banks of the Thames, what were once loading dock areas of the past have been converted to very trendy lofts offering excellent views of the Thames. I especially liked the numerous bridges that we sailed underneath, some were built over 100 years ago and still operating! Each one seemed to have it's own personality, I would take this tour again just to see the bridges. As we continued closer to Richmond the city of London left us and the countryside welcomed us, lots of weeping willow trees on the banks, rustic flowers blooming in the late summer season and large estates began to appear with very large back yards and private launches for their own boats; that's the life! Eventually we arrived at the first lock we needed to get through to enter the next section of the Thames. If you have cruised through the Panama Canal you will understand how this works, this was a miniature version but using the same engineering. Within 10-15minutes we had risen about 8-10feet, the lock in front of us was opened and we continued on our way to Kew. On this trip we did not leave the Connaught at Kew but I highly recommend going to Kew Gardens, they are absolutely beautiful and the conservatory has one of the best displays of Orchids I have seen. We picked up a few more customers and left for Richmond. At this point we were truly in the country and there's nothing to do but just sit back and enjoy the gentle motion of the ship, take in the sunshine, have a sip of your beer and be thankful for a wonderful day. We arrived in beautiful Richmond, many restaurants and pubs along the river and incase you don't want to take the ship back to London there is a train that will whisk you back to Waterloo station in just 25minutes. I truly enjoyed this trip and recommend it for anyone who is visiting, traveling by boat/ship beats riding the underground anyday.

We boarded our river boat just beside Hampton Court Palace and were heading back to Westminster Pier. I did take a seat under the awning for the trip as it was a blazing hot day and am glad I did. The journey back to Westminster Pier took 3 hours, but only made a few stops along the way. Those that sat up top predictably got quite sunburnt. The most picturesque part of the route is from Hampton Court, through the river as far as Barnes and Mortlake. You can see some beautiful properties which lie beside the banks of the river and it's extremely pretty. Once you are past Putney, it's mainly a few parks and office buildings, but the journey itself is very pleasant, relaxing and a great chance to chat with friends, have a beer/wine or whatever and just relax.

I did not have the feeling of any schedule for other things he had to do, even we were only renting for 2 hours, there were other customers and it was probably a busy day for them. The service was quick, efficient and no one was left waiting. He took us out on the boat and showed us what to do, recommended a route and all went well. It is a lovely part of the river as is most of the Thames in that part of the world. My children were a bit nervous as it was their first time on a boat like this and so we came back early. Chertsey Meads Marine Hire were understanding and accommodating, we did not feel silly in any way. On entering the place there are old vehicles, loads of boats, engines and other things all over the place, this is a proper boatyard and not an amusement theme park. The people working there seems to be proper experienced boating people. The boat was not new, it was not passed it either, but certainly well used. The cushions were perfectly clean, the rest of the boat not that clean but still fine. However it was a strong boat probably meant to the massive use that comes with boat rentals, it seemed totally reliable and felt totally secure which to me is what mattered. I was very happy with it There were many other customers, all seeming really happy, having a good time and enjoying the boats. They are in their office in the UK and seem to be unaware of the boats they are chartering. I contacted BoatBookings.com in early August 2022 inquiring about booking a boat / catamaran for a 50th anniversary trip with another close couple in April 2023. I contacted BoatBookings.com mainly because they offered a pick up location at Scrub Island in the BVI. We were guided by James Teague to a late model catamaran that he affirmed would be perfect for our trip. I have chartered boats (mainly powerboats) for 35 years from the BVI. I sent the wire to BoatBookings.com for 50% of the total charter cost in September 2022. I was booking a private water taxi from St Thomas to Scrub Island in February 2023, and the water taxi company advised me that there were no boats from BoatBookings.com and Dream Yacht Charter in Scrub Island as they had moved in the Fall of 2022. I contacted James Teague and he said that he would have to check with his contact at Dream Yacht Charter as he knew nothing of them moving the fleet from Scrub Island (4 or 5 months after they moved). I spoke with Dream Yacht Charter and they advised me that they had advised BoatBookings.com of their move in the fall of 2022. This to say the least was difficult for me to adjust, but I changed my plans. I arrived at Dream Yacht Charter the day of the pick up and it had not been communicated to them that I was to depart the same day. The manager, Richard at Dream Yacht Charter was accommodating and got me a quick walk through. I discovered that day that the boat had no air conditioning (and no generator). Our group is all in our 70's and no ac is not an option. The people at Dream Yacht Charter were very understanding. They accepted the boat back, and we did not use it. Richard requested that I reach out to BoatBookings.com and request a refund. I have asked for consideration from BoatBookings.com and they have refused to consider any refund. One only has one 50th anniversary in ones life, and BoatBookings.com is unfit for business.

Was not even allowed on…read more I booked this for an experience for my girlfriend and I as we absolutely loved the bigger City Thames boat tours, which were absolutely fantastic by the way. We were really excited to then go on a speedboat instead, but it all went wrong. They first off all provided us with the wrong pier, and due to us having travel issues beforehand; we were already stretched on time. However, relocating to the apparent correct pier meant that we completely missed out on our boat. Furthermore, there is no effort to actually refund or support anyone that missed their boat due to external issues. They have absolutely refused to refund my ticket; one I got through a 3rd party. If you miss your boat due to external factors, this company will not help you at all or offer you a reasonable other ride. They also spoke of how a bunch of boats were fully booked, and yet when we were in the area, my girlfriend and I noticed multiple boats that had empty seats. That gave me major red flags. It is quite the risk to get tickets for this experience; I advise caution. I am devastated and appalled as well as frustrated. Complete lack of time, effort and money as we had to travel further into London for it.
