Bluebell Inn is a quaint country pub located on the tail end of Newport Road, on the outskirts of the city centre (it's the large blue building on your left - you can't miss it).
I've been here a few times for a quick afternoon drink, but it's not the first pub I'd visit, as it's a bit far out, but reachable by car or bus. I know the Bluebell Inn has quite a good restaurant that specialises in seafood, but I haven't sampled it yet so I can't comment!
Neither a Brains nor a Wetherspoons pub, Bluebell Inn is a more family-orientated pub, with spacious eating areas, both inside and outs. It's been fairly empty the few times I've been here, but there's enough of an atmosphere from the charming staff and decor that you don't feel like you're in a haunted mansion.
Apparently, Bluebell Inn also boasts five double rooms, with enough car park space to accommodate coaches. read more
