I especially love the Sunday lunch and is great for those with a big appetite! The prices are great and the meals are excellent value for money. They often have live entertainment, there is a pool table and great outdoor eating/playing area. Wide screen TV. They have a big car park. They also have a function room to hire and I believe they do not charge for this hire but you would need to confirm that. All in all I would recommend the Port 'O' Call.

Being born and raised in the area I have been to this pub many, many times during my life and I'm sorry to say that it has deteriorated over the last decade or so. In my youth this was a wonderful village pub, with no allusions of being anything more. It's where the locals could get a pint, a chat and traditional pub grub (scampi, cod and chips, ale pie, etc). It also keeps the impact on your wallet to a minimum with Brains' Famous Five for £3.85 meal promotion, Fosters at £2.30 and Brains IPA at £1.85. There are a few cases where someone has written a negative review and they have been defended by someone involved with the business. In the interests of avoiding some kind of lawsuit, then, let me just say that this is just my opinion. My opinion does not stop you from going there if you want... I had heard that this was a really lovely place to go for a drink. Unfortunately, I did not find this to be true. The barmaid was really lovely and very friendly but it just didn't have the gentle relaxed atmosphere that I was looking for. If you want a more rowdy night, though, it'd probably be quite good fun. All in all, though, I left feeling quite ambivalent.
