I was very pleased with Blue Water Mortgage. I was introduced to Chad by my realtor early in our quest to downsize into a condo. At the time, I had chosen a nation wide lender, I was familiar with, and they had given me a preapproval letter. Since we were moving from out of state to new Hampshire and even though we were not asking for a mortgage from Blue Water, Chad went out of his way to describe what we could expect at closing on a property in NH. During the search process, I sought Chad's advice several time and he gave it freely. Subsequently, the larger national bank mortgage fell through for technical reasons. We were informed of this only 1 week before closing and we had to scrape up the mortgage money by borrowing against the equity in our brokerage account. After closing, we went back to Blue Water for a cash out mortgage to repay our brokerage loan. I found that Blue Water both were very professional and kept us informed throughout the process. Chad and Ann worked with us and we closed in a very short time, saving us interest payments on the equity loan. We were able to close at a lower rate than we expected. It was truly a pleasure working with both Chad and Ann and we were much more comfortable dealing a company that was more aware of the local real estate market in NH. After trying to work with this company for 3 months, my husband and I are left having to get into contact with lawyers and filing complaints against this company. We were lied to, blatantly. Now we are left trying to put our life back together. The owner, a man named Roger, said he was "going to look into this" but I never heard from him! That was a week ago. I would never recommend this mortgage company. The buyer of my property was pre-qualified by Rick Schlager, Senior Loan Originator. Buyer was upfront with Schlager and told him there was a prior foreclosure on a property and submitted all the documentation to Blue Water. He requested the buyer's credit report but failed to recognize that there was no discharge of a prior foreclosure deed. This was not brought to my attention until the title company started their legal work. In the meantime, I removed the property from the market and we lost 45-60 days because we needed to get the condo project FHA qualified. Jason Caruso, Schlager's manager was supposed to follow up but never did. Numerous calls and emails went unanswered. Again, I would never do business with this company. read more

I worked with Lee Talewsky who did a fantastic job on my mortgage process. Kept me informed and updated right through the process. She worked hard and made the loan process manageable and easy. She was able and willing to address any concerns I had. She was willing to communicate with me by means of email,text, and phone calls, even on weekends. She worked hard to move the process quickly and meet deadlines. I also appreciate that she made it known that I could contact her even after closing if I had any questions pertaining to my loan. I had shopped quite a bit to get the best rates and came across many lenders/brokers. So it was easy for me to compare. Lee really stood out head and shoulders above the rest. Its not always about solely the mortgage math and rates. Its also about the quality of service, hard work, persistence that goes behind the scenes and Lee outshone in all of them. read more

Extremely happy with Blue Water Mortgage company! I was buying a home in NH and was originally using Metro CU. We were all the way to underwriting and they decided that I needed to put in a radon mitigation system BEFORE closing. Since our seller was already putting in a new septic system, she would not foot the bill for radon... so the financial burden was on us. For this house, it would have been a $7000 mitigation system for water and air. Not cheap! And we just didn't have that kind of money. With only about 30 days until our closing date, we decided to switch lenders with the help of our realtor. I started working with Jay Healey and he even helped cover the cost of the bank appraisal (since the appraisals were not transferable between lenders). We only ended up losing a few hundred dollars to switch. Luckily BWM was so on top of things that we signed on time, all with the same rate and even lower closing costs! We were forced to use this company in Fall 2010 due to seller contract requirements, however, they proved to be an excellent find. They were able to provide a rate lower by 1/8 of a point over my buddy who is a mortgage broker. In addition, they were able to close the loan in less than 30 days which was fantastic for us and the seller. Customer service was top notch. I will definitely use them again on future purchases or refis. 4.125 on a 30 year fixed with 0 points!!! Woohoo. read more

This is my first home buying experience, and I went very very wrong by trusting Blue Water Mortgage. Now, I am purchasing a house using an FHA loan, and I understand they are difficult to work with. However, it is now clear to me that Blue Water has zero clue how to work with FHA loans, a detail I would have preferred to have been told prior to proceeding with Blue Water Mortgage. Our closing date has been extended twice now, looking at a third time, all due to errors made by this company. Blue Water has not taken responsibility for any errors, placing the blame on others, and making ridiculous excuses for not completing papers etc. on time. I am a very calm and understanding person, but I am not an idiot. I expect people who work for me to take responsibility and to give me explanations and updates. Not only are errors being made and deadlines not being met, but I never receive phone calls with updates. It is a huge hassle to find my broker via phone to ask for an update. Seeing as my commitment letter states a loan will be provided to me 5 days ago, and we are looking to extend our closing date YET AGAIN, I have no hesitation when I say that the brokers at Blue Water Mortgage company are not only unprofessional, but incompetent. Hopefully if you just began your journey with this company, you are not using an FHA loan. I hope you have better luck with this company than I did. read more
