The ladies were pretty and the massages are great. They leave you feeling quite satisfied after they're done.

Date of visit: January 5, 2025…read more "Your back and shoulders are very tense!" *proceeds to crack the hell out of them* Ever since the Yelp Elite San Diego spa event at the Pendry eons ago, I've been looking for a spa experience comparable to it (but at a fraction of the regular price). As a result, I've become a bit addicted to self-care all in the name of a good massage, but not finding anything close to what I've had done. My most recent attempt happened to be at Oceanic; over our FaceTime calls with my fiancee, she noticed my back and shoulders creaking while trying to get myself comfortable, and as such resolved to treat myself shortly afterwards. Normally, I go for a shiatsu massage, but I've noticed that while I get immediate relief, it doesn't last as long. So, for $70 I opted to try a Thai massage, as well as paid an extra $10 for hot stone treatment (which I haven't had done in a long time). Ooh, little did I know that I was in for it... I didn't know that a Thai massage involves getting bent like a pretzel, as well as having deep tissue pressure on my back and shoulders (hence the quote from my masseuse). I could literally hear and feel the numerous pops as she massaged the tension out. (In fact, as of this typing over two weeks later, my shoulders and upper back are STILL sore. Guess I really needed that massage more than I thought.) As for the hot stone treatment, it felt really nice - and she also placed a hot stone in each of my palms as well, which was something new I've never had at previous places that offered it. The place is very clean and relaxing, and my masseuse (whose name I forgot to ask) did a great job massaging these middle-aged joints of mine. She even popped my fingers - a plus, given how I work at a keyboard - but she didn't stretch my neck or pop my toes! So, the search continues for a proper spa massage, but I'll keep Oceanic in mind (especially as they also offer cupping here).

Bought a Groupon. We all know how that goes. It ain't going to be anything special. But surpringly…read moreit was better than I thought! Came with a friend for his bday and we both got 50 minute massages with hot stones. I asked for a hard massage because these muscles are sore and while I didn't leave feeling like a new man, I did feel about 60 percent better. Which I take as a win. And my friend who did medium pressure felt about the same. Generally the place felt clean. Which is a big plus in my books. Happy I went. Would book again but only with a Groupon.
