Booked a therapeutic massage with Blue Sage. Since I had not been there in a while, I filled out some online background paperwork regarding medical history and the type of treatment desired. I arrived at a beautifully decorated 2nd floor establishment with relaxing music playing. It was then I met Sandy L. She took a few minutes to ask me some questions and got right to work. Came here with my friend on a rainy day in Mattituck. This spa is tucked away in a business park off of Main St. They are in the second floor. The space is very clean, cute and cozy. Soft music playing during your facial. We both had the "age later" facials which were 75min @ $130. The time went fast! My aesthetician was Charlene and she was professional and friendly. She gave me a thorough facial and I felt great afterwards. I appreciate that she did not try to upsell me to buy other products or services. Note: there is a 3.5% fee if you use a credit card. AVOID THIS PLACE FOR FACIALS! My skin looked like it had a chemical burn + scratches on my neck and the spa did not refund me after they pain they caused. I went in a little over a week ago for an hour-long facial plus a microdermabrasion add-on. During the service, my esthetician asked if I wanted a derma-planing add-on for free. I specifically asked her if this would be too harsh on my skin since I was already getting microdermabrasion, and she said no and that I would "love the results" so I agreed. I should have gone with my gut but I trusted the professional. After the treatment my face looked red, but she said that was also normal and that it would fade. That night it continued to look redder and more sensitive than it should have. The following morning I knew something was wrong. My skin looked like it had a chemical burn with little white pustules starting to appear. I also had scratches all along my neck where she pressed too hard with the microdermabrasion tool or used it incorrectly. I emailed the spa the following day; no word back from them. I then called about a week later and I re-sent my email to show them the photos of what happened. The person on the phone seemed concerned and said she would call me back later. I did not receive a phone call back, but instead received an email saying they do not do refunds, the pictures I sent seemed normal after being reviewed by the owner and the esthetician who did my service (they said it was normal to look like I had a sunburn!). They offered a discount on a future service; I would never return here after what they did to me! I am appalled that a trained professional thinks this is acceptable, and that a spa owner would stand behind the results I experienced. I've had MANY facials and microdermabrasion treatments in my lifetime and NEVER has this happened to me. I also sent the photos to my sister, who is in fact a licensed esthetician, and she was equally horrified, saying that is not what is taught in proper schools. My husband and I were visiting the area and came in for a couple's massage. Right when we walked in the spa was very cute and welcoming, and smelled amazing. Lindsey and Sandy were our massage therapists and they were absolutely incredible -- we both turned to each other afterwards and said it was the best massage we had ever received. I actually felt like I had taken a muscle relaxer after mine -- never in my life have I had a massage make me feel so loose and relaxed. I wish we lived nearby because I would be at Blue Sage all the time. When we visit the area again we will 100% be back. read more

This spa is in an office-type building but as soon as you open the door, it smells great and the colors of the sea everywhere transport you to a place of comfort. My favorites over there are Sandra and Charlene. They are professional and knowledgeable and they really "feel" what they do and seem to enjoy their work. When you enter the spa, it's like a surprise oasis - beautiful smells and high airy ceilings create a relaxing yet elegant ambiance. My treatment was well done. Michelle recommenced their signature facial which was top noche. She used many different products and techniques, while still being relaxing. I appreciated that she didn't try to up sell me or cut me short from the 60 minute service. There were 2 things that prevented me from giving it 5 stars. 1) I was booked for Charlene and was given Michelle once I got there. When I asked about this, the receptionist was short with me and not apologetic for the switch. Odd. 2) After my treatment there was $20 left on the gift certificate. They would not allow me to use the money towards a product. The receptionist once again was kind of rude & short explaining that I needed to use it towards a service. My husband didn't buy this on discount so I thought this strange. Money is money; right? Of course no services are $20, so I thought this totally odd and turned off. From looking at the prior reviews it looks to stay away from gift certificates. Overall still a good spa and reasonable prices for the treatments. Good luck! read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! My wife called a little over a week ago and scheduled a couples massage for Monday August 19th, 2024. When she called she spoke to a woman on the phone that assured we were booked for the massage at 12pm but she needed to pass the information along to another co-worker who will be able to add our reservation to the computer. We showed up to Blue Sage for our reservation only to find out that we were never placed into the computer. Mistakes happen and my wife and I understand that. But the receptionist with the gray hair blankly stared at us and repeated "I don't see you in here. I don't know what happened". I don't know if she thought we were going to figure out the issue or rectify the problem but she wasn't apologetic and offered us nothing for our inconvenience. She was quick to assure us that she wasn't the one we booked with to remove any culpability from her end. We received an apology right before walking out the door. No effort was made to try and reschedule or offer us anything for the inconvenience. I wasn't looking for a hand out but if you make a mistake on your end then try and do the right thing and show some empathy and care for the customer. We aren't from the area and likely wouldn't have rescheduled but make it seem like you care about the customer who is coming and spending their money at your place of business. As we were walking out of the front door the receptionist offered my wife 25% off if we called to book another couples massage. As if I had faith that when we called to book that they would remember who we were and how we were inconvenienced and/or would have successfully entered our reservation into the computer. It just seemed as if our patronage meant absolutely nothing to them. And for that reason I'll never spend my money there and neither should you. Go somewhere where they care about you and appreciate your business. read more

I have been a regular massage client for years and local resident. ALWAYS a stellar experience- and I've had massage therapy all over. Its nice that they know me, my body's aches & pains- etc. The staff so warm and welcoming. Its like an oasis. Massage has been hugely therapeutic for me during these crazy times, and pre covid dealing with severe peri menopause symptoms- extreme anxiety, insomnia, sweats, etc. They were so understanding. I always leave feeling better. A bit more whole. Post Covid when they re-opened I almost cried after my massage- isolation and no human contact, touch, the stress. They are miracle workers. Today I had my first micro-dermabrasion ever with Charlene- Facial esthetician pro and female biz owner. My hormonal skin spots out of control. I was so self conscious. LOVE the treatment. My skin feels like a baby's bum. My spots & fine lines lessened. Im hooked. We all need a bit of a pick me up during this time. Self care and nurturing yourself is NOT frivolous. You need to care for yourself mind body, soul. Truly I've experienced this. You're gonna come out of this place feeling better than any doc appt you may have. The perfect place for an afternoon with a friend. While I went for an amazingly relaxing and beautifying facial, my friend soothed her body in the sauna before her treatment. I was done with my facial before she was, so right into the sauna I went. Left feeling and looking like a million bucks. Had a nice relaxing massage by Okky. He's been there for quite a while. Rooms are not near sound proof and you can hear all the outside activity and traffic as well as conversations being had in the hall. The worst part was 1) I came with a gift card (that had no expiration on it) and was told they wouldn't honor it...AFTER the massage. That was a very unexpected $50 that I really didn't have to spend. Was kind of rude about it saying they reached out about old gift cards. They didn't teach out to the buyer or I at any time. Also - they don't allow for tipping on a credit card. Would be nice to note that somewhere. As good as Okky gives a massage, I won't go back. Ahhhhh-mazing experience at Blue Sage!!! I came to them originally when I bought a house here, my girlfriends bought me a Zen package. I had Tara for a facial and Lindsey for a massage. That was two years ago! You can tell how awesome it was, because I remember who I had and how relaxing it was. Since then I've been back regularly for facials and on special occasions for massage. I prefer facials, it's just me. And I get compliments on my skin since going to them regularly! I've also brought groups of girlfriends and a few guy friends. Everyone always walks out super relaxed and in love with Blue Sage. It's a small place... so you need to plan, they do book up fast. But they can totally accommodate a group, with enough notice! Carmella at the front desk is a riot and the best! She totally works with you, and the best is that they keep a chart of what services you've had and who you've had those services with. I love supporting small businesses and Charlene has done an amazing job since she took it over! I also love that they don't sell you on products! Let's be real, the pandemic for parents (esp working parents) has been BRUTAL and this mama needed some zen time away from everyone! I booked a microderm facial and eyebrow shaping. Let me tell you, both were A-MAZ-ING! Seriously, my skin was GLOWING after my facial by the fabulous Charlene, who also happens to be the owner. I've had many facials before and usually they'll go over my face once, twice if it's "good" with the tool but Charlene went to town until she was sure my skin was polished, clean and rid of any dry skin. She's also very in-tune with eyebrow shapes and kept my naturally full brows. Can't wait to return! read more

I had a massage with Sandra today and it was one of the best massages I've had. It sounds strange to say but her massage felt so creative! She incorporated hot stones, deep breathing, and precisely placed hot towels which I loved. I told her my problem area(s) and I appreciated that she worked on it, but didn't overwork it as some places do, and managed to also massage the whole rest of my body. My mother and I came today for massages. We were not told that they moved to a different location, so we were a couple minutes late unfortunately. It is no longer by Love Lane, but right next to this really nice Capital One bank, on the 2nd floor of the building. Michael was my massage therapist, and he was amazing. I really don't like spending $80+ on a massage that feels like someone is just patting oil on you with barely any pressure, but Michael was great and the complete opposite experience that I had at Spa Bellezza. My advice? Take the extra 10 minute drive and come here instead! read more

I used to like this place but had an experience in Aug. causing me to never go back. During massage, which was really just ok/nothing special, the music stopped and jackhammering began for 30 minutes. Masseuse went to front desk to try to get music started. Internet was down. No backup plan for music in the room which is an easy solve. Internet service in area is poor=have a backup plan. When I told person at desk that I had no music and hammering for most of massage she said this: The internet was down and yes there is construction in another office in bldg. That's it. Nothing else. No I'm sorry let me take 50% off, no let me give you a free massage next time. Nothing. Their new place is very sterile anyways. Nothing very welcoming about the place. I'm very happily going to Eastern Sun in Southold now every 2 weeks.Cozy and inviting surroundings, lovely people and superior massages. read more

Very nice experience! Here for a girls weekend, my two friends and I got the $240 spa package which included massage, facial, body scrub and hot stone foot treatment. The staff was very friendly & professional, the place was very clean with beautiful, relaxing decor. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the hot stone foot treatment- it felt rushed and not very relaxing due to the lack of padding on our feet, the stones felt a bit uncomfortable as they were being massaged into my feet. Everything else was great, and they do not gouge you on price nor do they cut 10 minutes off treatments like most spas (i.e an hour massage is usually 50 minutes in many places.) The owner Diane was extremely rude and unprofessional during my first massage experience. I had received a gift certificate for my birthday, which was how I ended up at Blue Sage Day Spa. She would only accept half of the value of the gift card, made a mistake with the total after calculating it, and was extremely rude in front of a foyer with other customers. The error was entirely her own, and she dressed me down and belittled me. I will never go back! The massage (with someone else) was nice, but Diane was so awful and in the end, wouldn't even look at me, say thank you, or goodbye. Please use your gift cards elsewhere! read more

Booked a couples massage and a few days later Carmela calls and says that one of the masseuse is sick and can't make it, mind you this is a week prior and they changed our appointment to an hour earlier. I took the appointment and said I would call back if it didn't work for my wife and I. Well we showed up for our massages and the RUDE lady at front desk Carmela said oh no I gave your appointment away because you never called back to confirm and I left you 3 voicemails asking for a credit card (which she didn't take for the first appointment I set up so why did she need it now) She was full of lies so we left, but then went back in to talk it through as she was very dismissive, condescending and so rude. She had 2 customers she was working with but thought it was appropriate to give us attitude and fight in front of customers. She even THREATENED to call the cops if we didn't leave when all we wanted was to talk it out but she said nope I can't do anything and told us to leave. Worst customer service I have EVER seen. Will NEVER go back and DO NOT recommend anyone go there because she just does what she wants and lies to your face. Didn't even offer another time or discount to get us back in the door. read more
