Their honesty is also in question: I always insisted on genuine MB parts and was always told (and charged for) genuine MB parts. When I took my car to the dealer to have A-1's work revised, I discover that A-1 had used lesser quality aftermarket parts instead of genuine MB parts: A blower motor A-1 put in the car lasted only 5 months. A-1 charged me $250 for a genuine MB blower but actually used a $150 aftermarket knock-off blower instead. My history with A-1: - A-1 replaced my air conditioner condenser. Less than 12 hours after getting the car back, the new air conditioner stops working. I take the car back and A-1 tells me that they fixed the AC but now there's a new problem - a hose has broken, which needs to be replaced. I suspect the hose was the original problem and I paid $1300 to replace the air condenser when I did not need to. - Serpentine belt replaced; car with squeaking noise coming from new serpentine belt. A-1 tells me noise is no problem. Six months later, I am broken down on the side of the highway at night 20 miles from home with a shredded serpentine belt. The squeaking noise was coming from a worn out pulley that should've been replaced when belt was replaced. Pulley caused belt shred. Had car towed to dealer and serpentine belt replaced again and pulleys replaced. - Cabin climate control blower motor replaced by A-1 for $300: five months later replacement blower motor stops working. A-1 had used aftermarket part rather than genuine Mercedes Benz part as they claim (and charged me for). - Told A-1 that I was smelling burned oil in the car when heater was on. I asked them to look at cylinder head for oil leak. A-1 said no visible leak. Within first minute flooding under the hood at the dealer, the service technician showed me oil stains in the area the cylinder head. The dealer replaced the cylinder head and I am no longer forced to smell burned oil in the car when the heater is on. A-1 is a poorly qualified, dishonest shop.

I have been using L Japan Autoservices for the past 5 or 6 years. Recently, I decided to purchase a used Lexus and needed a pre-purchase inspection report. Now at the time, L Japan Autoservices was unavailable, on such short notice, and so I scheduled an appointment with First Class Halt. It was very easy to make an appointment with First Class (FC) and I was able to have my used Lexus inspected almost immediately. However, I soon found out that FC charged me roughly twice what L Japan Autoservices charged for the same service. FC charged me $250 for the pre-purchase inspection report and found a small oil drip near my engine. FC then told me I should have an UV Engine Dye Test to locate the source of the small oil leak for $200. They also said once we know where the leak is coming from we can fix it for an additional charge. I thanked FC for their report and after a few days was able to set up an appointment with Joe of L Japan Autoservices. Now, Joe only charged me $125 for his pre-purchase inspection report. Joe took a video of his inspection and sent it to my phone. He pointed out quite a number of small issues that I should be aware of, like my battery terminal corrosion. In addition, Joe showed me on the video where the very small engine oil drip was and felt that because there was no oil leaking on the ground, and no burnt oil smells, and the oil dipstick level had not changed significantly I could just watch it for now and address this issue later. This advice saved quite a bit of money and worry. Thank you Joe!

He went above and beyond and got me a better tire for a discounted price due to the scheduling issue. For 4 tires and an alignment I was in and out in about an hour. Great service and great prices. Unlike so many other tire shops this one was clean, had a seating area, an area where you could work on your laptop, and a children's play area. Also, plenty of outlets (with USB ports) to charge your devices.
