I love this restaurant, I had dinner there again last night. The food is excellent, the service is great and the location and atmosphere is wonderful. Spruce Pine is a hidden gem in the North Carolina High Country and so is Blue Ridge Tacos. Great salsa bar with eight different varities . . . many of them are "El Scorcho" (hot). The cook came out to my table TWICE to ask me how I wanted my vegan tacos prepared . . . that's what I call service. The El Chapalas, La Carretas and Los Arcos will do in a pinch, but this little place in downtown Spruce Pine is a big step up. I'm so glad I found this restaurant. read more

Opening day, and it exceeded expectations! We are thrilled that they actually have excellent breakfasts, including Eggs Benedict, traditional, and Florentine, as well as numerous other options. Their original homemade salsa is incredible, at least two varieties, for your tasting pleasure. My chorizo Con Huevos was super tasty. The service was excellent and professional, the environment is fantastic. They've added brand new tables and chairs, high-quality furniture and it's tastefully decorated. The music is very relaxing in the morning. Creating a peaceful and comfortable environment. My wife had the traditional Eggs Benedict and loved it. Got their Chocoflan to go, I have never heard of it before, and it looks so decadent, that I have to save it for my dinner this evening. Be sure to check it out. read more

Gravy tastes like grandmas. Staff friendly lunch and dinner is so yummy. One major thing is their prices are incredibly reasonable. So many places have increased pricing and it's hard to eat out as a family. But this place you get lots of tasty food for a great price! Salsa bar is amazing. I can't recommend this place enough. Exceeded expectations! Walking in from the stairs, feels welcoming. Plenty of space for small or large parties. Calming environment. Salsa bar has options from mild to spicy and all are very flavorful. Had the beef tacos, very good! House made chips and taco shells! Service was great! Happy to have this spot in town. Today was my first time visiting , I ordered the Texas ACP (pretty easy) Food was not really flavorful... the lady came and asked for suggestions or tips but I couldn't tell her in person if they wanna be good they need to season their food with something other than salt... the rice was too mushy and it was just a blob of wet rice and watery queso with overcooked beef and chicken and 3 shrimp ..I didn't expect much going in but I had to try it ! Pretty sure any positive review is a paid review. Do not go here unless you want you waste your whole afternoon and end up with incorrect food orders that don't even taste good. New management/chef is needed. There were about 5 tables including us. 3 of those tables with only two patrons. THREE people on the floor to take orders and check out customers. We asked for an update on our food after a good 40 minutes after ordering (tostada, French fries, and enchilada plate. I was told he'd let us know but we weren't given an update for another 15 minutes and were told the food was being played. When it came my tostada had already turned soggy, my husband's food (here for our wedding actually) had the wrong meat, wrong sauce, and his tortillas were cold. Put us way behind as we were just passing through quickly so we could spend our last afternoon in Asheville. The 1st time we came here it was awesome (with latin staff). The 2nd time (during the alien festival) it had really gone downhill. May be new (white) owners. Clueless awkward teenage servers and my hubs food came out after I had finished my meal! Food was meh. Found myself hungry and following the scent of something amazing on that lower street in Spruce Pine after a morning of checking out the local Antique/Junkatiques there. This beacon of deliciousness called to me and I made my way up the stairs. My waiter Odin, with super long hair, steered us in the right direction toward some steak and carnitas taco's on freshly made in house tortillas. Did I just time warp into Latin America ?! Where did this Oasis come from... I had no idea Spruce Pine had such a hidden gem with such great atmosphere and service... We also had an array of salsas from the salsa bar to accompany our basket of chips... and also ordered the guacamole which was spot on, super fresh & perfect. Had some seared Jalapenos with just the right amount of char. A Torta was also ordered and the thing was a battleship of a sammich... Im not sure how my buddy ate that entire thing cause it was a gigantic in size, but he said it was so delicious he just couldn't stop eating...it looked pretty damn amazing. Odin mentioned that Hazel (another rockstar wait staff that worked there) made an excellent Horchata and Jamaica in house. Both of which were absolute bullseyes and hit the spot... Im not sure I could've had a better lunch in down town Spruce Pine... and unexpectedly got a free trip through some portal into Latin America after walking through the door of Blue Ridge Taco's... will definitely be eating here again and again every time I pass through this wonderful part of the world.
