I have purchased their products in shops in the past, and in November, I ordered from their website due to an incredible sale. Not only did I score a slew of excellent deals, I also received the most generous bag of freebies. Shipping took only a few days. I'm a big fan of whimsical socks, and sadly, many brands at the same price point as Blue Q fail to hold up after multiple washes. I have never had an issue with Blue Q's socks. I'm a Blue Q ho. I admit it. I got Blue Q tote bags. Pouches. Tea towels. Socks. Sassy, smart alecky, a little bit off color, why yes, that exactly describes me. I have been on an endless and expensive search for the perfect lightweight tote bag to bring to work. It had to be lightweight (because I walk over a mile a day through the mean streets of Philadelphia to get to my office every day), tough (because I take the train, betches), waterproof (hello) and cute. I've spent an insane and embarrassing amount of money on tote bags, only to finally stumble upon Blue Q's sale section one day on their website and spotting the most adorable tote bags ever for ridiculously cheap! Well, I've now gotten several versions, all perfect and rugged.... except when the plastic lining started to come off. Well, that's not very nice or eco-friendly, is it? I emailed a query to customer support, got a response back WITHIN THREE MINUTES, and in less than an hour, they had sent me a brand new replacement tote that arrived on my doorstep a few days later. While I was waiting to pick up my car from the repair shop (everyone's favorite thing do to of course), a cool cat started up a conversation with me. She liked my scarf and I totally dug her bag. "You know, it's BlueQ!" she said matter of factly. Hmmm. BlueQ huh? I thought to myself. When I got home, I went online and checked them out. Cool, affordable bags made from 95% recycled content, gifts, and all kinds of fun stuff! I ended up picking up the bird shopper, sunny side up shoulder tote, sporty overnighter and the travel light overnighter. A few days later when my package from BlueQ arrived, I was in a really bad place. In fact, the past few weeks have been pretty awful. My dog was just diagnosed with Stage 5 lymphoma/acute lymphatic leukemia, I'm still grappling with a back injury and a few other pretty heavy setbacks in my life were taking a toll. So, I opened the box up and I noticed that what I ordered was there - along with other items I hadn't ordered. Then I found a card in the box that said something like 'hope you like your free loot!' and there were a couple of bracelets and a few ridiculous comic books. It's been a long time since I've laughed, and I couldn't help but actually, genuinely, really, laugh when I read the Romeo & Juliet comic. Ten years ago I bought a zippered Blue Q tote bag from a ferry gift shop. I needed something for convenience at that moment. Well, all these years later I am still using it. I've had many compliments on it. After a decade, the material is just beginning to wear in one small spot, the zipper has never failed. This tote can take a heavy load, straps are sturdy. How was my BlueQ experience? Well, it was pretty damn awesome, thank you very much. In an age of Kafkaesque "customer service" call centers, I called BlueQ and got to an actual English speaking human being within 30 seconds of the first ring. The problem with my order was addressed in about a minute with replacement items shipped out the same day. Wow. "Customer Service" has taken on a whole new (and not entirely positive) meaning, but with BlueQ, I was a customer who actually received service. Amazing. Blue Q is RIDICULOUS - in the best way. I recently ordered some bags from them. Okay, number 1, they showed up THE NEXT DAY! I didn't order special shipping or anything. Number 2, when I opened the box I was disappointed - in myself. The first bag, on the top of the pile, was a cute bag that I had put in my basket, and then thought I removed, because I already had other bags in there and couldn't financially justify another one. I couldn't believe I didn't actually remove it from my cart. ....except I HAD! They just threw it in as a freebie! I really love this company - I don't order from them as much as I'd like, because I really just order their shoulder bags, which hold up really well! I've often gotten compliments on the shoulder totes - people have actually asked me if they were designer! I' love they're 95% recycled, too. And the packaging was minimal! Which I love - less waste. They have great stuff, but their customer service is horrible. I wanted a specific product that they sent as a "freebie". I was willing to pay for the freebie. Not only did they tell me that they wouldn't send it, they told me I had to buy stuff I didn't want and they _might_ put the freebie in. Yeah, right. The stuff they have on their website is some really cool nice little gifts for people during the holidays. They have awesome socks that work great for a girlfriend, coworker, and friends. I ordered 2 pairs of socks and they sent me a special gift inside. The special gift was ANOTHER FREE PAIR OF SOCKS, DISH TOWEL, some gum, and 2 little zip baggies. Like wow, they didn't have to do that but they did. I have ordered from Blue Q for years, and love every thing I've received. They have the quirkiest, most unusual items. I have lots of the various size zipper bags, and large tote bags. I love--love--this company. I'd been getting crazy-cute and clever gifts over the years from Blue Q never knowing they were from the same source or even what that source was. And when I tried to replace an adorable small coin purse of theirs whose zipper finally broke after years of use, I did not know where to start hunting down how to replace it (Amazon was no help at all). So I gave up -- until in the amazing gift shop at the Peabody Essex Museum, in Salem, MA, I spied little purses like it, plus larger pouches and hilarious dish towels and totes, so I took a photo of the logo on display, tore into the internet, and found the Blue Q website. I will never be the same. Aside from being enormously entertaining, it offered me tons of gift ideas -- especially for upcoming hosts for when we travel abroad (so lightweight, and who doesn't like birds?). They win on wit and whimsey alone, but then there's the affordability factor, plus the extraordinary customer service (everything arrived in two days, in a sturdy package that was somehow also easy to access), PLUS a few extras, "just because." (Who does that? Who??). Like other reviewers have written, this makes you feel so freaking good that you can't wait to order more stuff, just to show them how great they you feel. (And yes, they still had the same adorable coin purse, thank you very much.)
