The menu changes daily and offers a wide variety of chicken (anything and everything from a mild honey mustard to the HOT HOT HOT Bomber's own recipe scotch bonnet/ghost chilli Perkbomb) and pork options, and occasionally lamb, falafel or home-made fish fingers. The sandwiches come as small boys (a small soft or crusty roll) or big boys (a bap the size of your face!); alternatively they offer salad boxes or jacket potatoes if you don't quite fancy a sandwich. If you'd prefer something light, there's almost always a fantastic soup (I had carrot and coriander today), but if you're feeling famished I dare you to take on the atomic bomb which is a combination of any three meats and all the salad you like! Its location means that it's perfect for those working in Cardiff city centre (or the Bay) as well as those indulging in a bit of shopping, although I regularly travel out of my way to treat myself to a cheeky sandwich. If you've got time on your hands, I'd also suggest taking a seat and having some tea or coffee and a slice of cake. Having recently been awarded 5 out of 5 on the Food Hygiene Rating, it is safe to say that Bomber's cannot be beaten on quality, cleanliness or service; as well as doing a fantastic job of supporting local businesses by sourcing local produce.

This is probably my favourite bar in Cardiff bay…read more One of the reasons for this is because most people do not regard it as a bar (more a coffee shop) and it is therefore never over run unlike the bars over the other side of the bay like Salt and Terra Nova. Sitting inside is very pleasant as are the staff, especially the manager, who I think i called Hugo but to me its big selling point is its outside area. It over looks the oval basin and faces the sun. I have spent many a summer day having a few cheeky ones chatting away whilst the sun goes into the bay. So if this isn't your bag - stay away (that way there is more room for the rest of us who do).

Of course I chose the veggie options which included Garlic Mushrooms, Mediterranean vegetables and feta in oil and a good stack of pitta. It was yummy, not exactly mind blowing but really tasty. What does make this place unique is the fantastic view over the bay, so essentially that's what your paying for with your £7 glass of champagne and limited tapas menu. It was worth a visit but it's not the kind of place I'd go regularly.

The…read morewonderful selection of produce includes traditional style pink lemonade, freshly baked breads, high quality cuts of meat and an array of cheeses, all nicely on display to customers. With Foxy's Deli choosing to stock a higher standard of goods, the prices are of course a little steeper than you'd expect to pay in local supermarkets, butchers and convenience stores. However, with the charming young staff and notably delicious food stocked, Foxy's does represent a happy alternative, with relatively good value for money also ensured. The cafe section of the shop uses the same high quality meats, breads and cheeses for their eclectic selection of sandwiches, all freshly prepared on the premises downstairs. With a number of drinks and cakes also available, Foxy's not only serves as a deli, but as a pleasant cafe with it's tasteful surroundings and lively atmosphere. Take away service is also available for sandwiches and cakes which simply adds to the high quality of service offered.

It's also a very popular spot for locals to have a cup of coffee to catch up, so expect this place to be busy! All in all, I like Foxy's. The food in my opinion is a solid 3 stars. ~ Atmosphere: It's a tight little space so there's not much room to maneuver around. If you're here during a peak time, be prepared! Especially near the deli counter, often times the queue and get pretty large and hectic. However, it does have a certain charm and especially when the sun's out, I highly recommend you have your brunch outside. ~ Customer Service: Really friendly and has all the charm of a local cafe. ~ Food: The last time I came here I had the Eggs Benedict. I ordered sandwiches before, so this is the most *substantial* thing that I've ordered. Taste-wise it was fine but they made some strange choices such as wholegrain toast instead of a traditional English muffin. Aside from that, unfortunately my poached eggs were overcooked. One of the saddest things in life is cutting open an egg and expecting to get delightful runny yolk but instead still medium-boiled eggs. However, it was still a yummy meal. The hollandaise sauce was fine so it hit the spot, just definitely not something I'd be still pining over. Overall, I like Foxy's. It's nothing out of this world, but a great place in Penarth for a quick meal and a coffee.

Unfortunately, when I went they ran out of hoagies so I had to get it in a bagel but it was packed to the BRIM. Although when you look at the prices you might grimace at it seeming expensive, because of the generous portions the prices are well worth it. This is more than just a simple sandwich people!!! 4 stars because the bagel itself was just alright but the fillings were delicious. However, I do have it in my mind that I have to come back and try some of their hoagies. Don't skip over this place! Overstuffing your face is what the good ol' USA is all about!

They slice ALL their meats and cheese daily, support local charities AND use local suppliers for just about everything. They even deliver if you order before 10am!

It is also good for food that you want to spend a LITTLE longer on, like jacket potatoes. The prices are quite reasonable in some parts and not quite so brilliant in others. My salad was £3.50 but I had to have a salad because the jacket potatoes (not that big and with fillings that didn't look that great) were £4.50. You do have to search for this deli, because it is a little way down Churchill Way, itself off Queen Street. But do go out of your way to try it. And then head to the bar next door.

There's no place to sit here,…read moreso it's the perfect spot to grab a quick bite to eat; you can even place an order in advance by phone (use the standard number) if you're in a hurry. The variety is the main draw here - and Wow Deli have just added a new collection of sandwiches including a "Crabdaddy Crab" and "Posh Fish Fingers" to accompany the usual offering of jacket potatoes, curries, salads, quiches and homemade soups. The counter was manned by a trio of hipsters who were slicing and chopping (with gloves on - yes, I notice these things and am extremely grateful) when I walked in. Overall, I found the food to be fresh and delicious, but my Yankee heart belongs to New York Deli; I would definitely go back again because I love anywhere where your sandwiches are made to order. Actually, I'm not sure I'd be in a hurry to come back here because it was so hot inside the shop, I felt the need to bail as soon as I walked in. I'm sure that'll change come autumn, but it was uncomfortable and a bit off-putting as it made me question how the food can withstand such conditions.
