I've always appreciated the idea of the Kittery Outlets, but the actual shopping experience has…read morebecome increasingly inconvenient. One of the biggest frustrations is the layout: instead of being able to stroll from store to store, you constantly have to get in and out of your car and drive from one shopping center to another. It really takes away from the enjoyment of outlet shopping and makes the whole day feel more like running errands than browsing. Another downside is the taxes. Whatever savings you think you're getting from outlet pricing quickly shrink once you see what you're paying in tax. It feels like a big chunk of the "discount" disappears at the register, which defeats the purpose of going to an outlet in the first place. Lastly, the number of vacant stores is hard to ignore. Whole sections look empty, and it gives the area a run-down feel. It also limits your options and makes the trip less worthwhile if the stores you came for simply aren't there anymore. Overall, the Kittery Outlets had potential, but the inconvenient layout, high taxes, and increasing number of vacant storefronts makes the experience far less appealing than it used to be.

They also have other popular stores including Saks Fifth Avenue, Nike, and Boss. The outlets are the place to go for the best deals. For the negatives, the food court is pretty sad, it only has a coffee shop, a pizza restaurant, and chicken restaurant, and a small Indian restaurant. We got food from the chicken restaurant and it was disappointing. Also, it was a hot day and there's not too much shade besides going into the stores or the food court. Overall, I like the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets more in terms of their layout and larger store selection, but would recommend going here if you plan on making large purchases to save on the tax.

There is a large selection of big names here including Nike, Calvin Klein,and Le Creuset to name a few. We found some great bargains at Nike and also found some great kitchen items at Le Creuset. There is a Lindt store here too for all your chocolate needs! We definitely paid that a visit also. I was also surprised at how friendly and knowledgeable all the staff were at the various stores. The staff at Le Creuset really seemed to understand their products very well. We did not eat here, but there is a small food court. Restrooms were quite clean and well-kept. Overall this was a great shopping experience!

Yep, some people would call it a typical tourist trap but it's actually a lot more than just tacky trinkets. Sure there is plenty of junky stuff and usual touristy things like stuffed toy lobsters., crummy t-shirts with ridiculous things printed on them, cheap plastic mugs, refrigerator magnets and various ornaments but the store is a good place to find useful beach items too. If you take the time to sift through some of the crap you can find sunglasses, beach chairs, sandals, hats, beach toys, umbrellas, suntan lotion and other things that you might need but probably forgot to bring to the beach. It actually is a fun place to poke around because there is so much stuff packed into the rather large store. Nothing really expensive in here, most of it is cheap and expendable but that is usually what you need on the beach. Cheap and tacky and useful and practical. If you need it on the beach you will probably find it in here.

Minor inconvenience as e came at 1045am so we grabbed a seat on a massage chair and got a massage. Couple food court areas were closed for good, but the main store area seemed to have all the stores still open.

The sales associate at Target mentioned that most brands don't make them anymore and suggested I try Walmart next door. At Walmart, it wasn't easy to browse since most of the men's razors were on the upper shelves, and I use a wheelchair. Fortunately, I met a very kind employee named Irial who was stocking shelves. She listened carefully when I explained what I needed and took the time to help -- lifting down one box after another until we finally found exactly what I was looking for: a Remington R3 razor with a sliding on/off switch. I can't say enough about Irial's patience and kindness. She went above and beyond to make sure I could find the right product. I truly hope Walmart recognizes employees like her and continues hiring helpful, compassionate staff

I've always liked it's long shape, it's brightly light atrium area for dining or reading, it's overall cleanliness, and the shops who call it home: specifically Wild Oats (one of favorite eateries in the entire state of Maine), Indrani's (where the intoxicating smell I'm obsessed with originates; it's a really cool shop specializing in globally inspired/sourced/imported home goods, gifts, clothing, jewelry, etc.), and one entrance into Eveningstar Cinema (an intimate, artsy, single screen indie movie theater that is charming and unique and smells of deliriously rich popcorn). I just feel like this spot is a frozen moment in time in the best way possible. Bathrooms available immediately upon entering, and down the flight of the stairs to the cinema. There's always parking available right in front on Maine Street. Basically... please never change, Tontine.

We like our local store, so we thought it would be a fun winter project for us as we don't snowmobile or ski! We combined this stop at this Saco branch in the Portland area with a trip to Costco and, conveniently, the Portland Reny's as well. This Saco branch reflects the look and feel of the Reny's "brand" and parking was more convenient than the Portland store. We like how Reny's has a great variety of items without being quite as large and sprawling as, say, a Walmart super center. It also stresses having Maine mad or themed products where they can. I have noticed that, with admittedly flimsy evidence except at our local one, employees at Reny's seem to like working there and helping customers. The parking situation is good here, and it had the same comfortable feel and friendly employees as the other branches we have visited, so that is good. On to the next branch, passport in hand!
