When I go down Saco way, I always love stopping by here. You never know what you'll find. OMG I've been jonesing for Fisher dry roasted sea salt peanuts ever since I left San Antonio and couldn't find them anymore. They were here in my backyard the whole time LOL. Well, I assume they have. At any rate, check out Reny's, they usually have good prices on many things. They also carry a wide assortment of Raye's Mustard (supposedly the only stone ground mill in America) and gonna try some double "burgermot" (how I like to jokingly pronounce it) tea. Reny's has a game they run where you are given a "passport" to have stamped at every branch in Maine. We like our local store, so we thought it would be a fun winter project for us as we don't snowmobile or ski! We combined this stop at this Saco branch in the Portland area with a trip to Costco and, conveniently, the Portland Reny's as well. This Saco branch reflects the look and feel of the Reny's "brand" and parking was more convenient than the Portland store. We like how Reny's has a great variety of items without being quite as large and sprawling as, say, a Walmart super center. It also stresses having Maine mad or themed products where they can. I have noticed that, with admittedly flimsy evidence except at our local one, employees at Reny's seem to like working there and helping customers. The parking situation is good here, and it had the same comfortable feel and friendly employees as the other branches we have visited, so that is good. Always love stopping here. They have name brand items. It's nice to see good quality items compared to some of the other stores. Prices are reasonable for a small company. People are always friendly. I always leave with stuff I didn't expect to find. read more

I bought three inexpensive snack foods at Renys in Saco yesterday. The selection was much limited. Open the first cheese crackers- awful flavor and stale. Open the second peanut brittle - completely stale and hard and just awful. The third, stale and disgusting was surely ALL DATED AND OLD. ALL THREE?!!! Just saying. read more

Decent store with some nice, rotating merchandise, good for finding inexpensive souvenirs and marked down brands, hiking shoes, etc. My complaint is that they are scheduled to be open until 6pm but they close their fitting room at 5:45 pm without telling you or making any kind of announcement, nor do they have clear, visible signage blocking the fitting room saying the fitting rooms are closed, it's not posted on their store hours - nothing. If this is their official policy, they should make it known to customers, rather than embarrass them by flat out turning them away. Also, they were pretty rude about it too. If they were nicer I probably wouldn't care enough to complain. read more

Love this place. There's a little of everything at great prices. If you're bored and want to walk around you can spend a good chunk of time checking out everything here. I was at the Saco location today to purchase some Bog boots for my grandson's. One pair were on hold and the other had to be ordered due to the size not available. The woman who was working the service desk was helping an elderly lady as I waited and she was so kind and patient with her. Then when my turn she was so helpful placing the order for the boots needed. This is what the spirit of Christmas is about and not all the commercialism. Reny's really is as good as it gets. I went in expecting to find a dollar store, but it's way more than that. There are real name brand clothes, big bath towels made out of real cotton, and all kinds of things at great prices. Reny's is exactly what Woolworth's would have been if they hadn't lost their way. The Saco store is the one that used to be in Biddeford but they moved to bigger space with better parking. Good for them, they're amazing. read more

What is this magical place? Reny's reminds me of Benny's from home (CT/RI) but they had some men's clothing that you could find in a boutique. Where else can you buy hunting boots, paper towels & lawn furniture in one spot? Our family randomly stopped in while in Maine & were impressed by the electic nature of their inventory. I really wanted to spend $125 on a made in the USA Pendleton blanket but we opted for some knick knacks to remember our trip by. read more

The very worst customer experience. My family was visiting the area for Memorial Day weekend. Some friends had recommended Renys as a good place to get good brands at a reasonable price. My husband and I took our college-aged student (second year at UVM) on Sunday, May 27 to look for some clothes for his summer job as a camp counselor. As we walked the aisles to find some shorts, sandals and tanks, I noticed that a store clerk began following my son from rack to rack. After watching this go on for ten minutes, I walked up to her and asked if there was something wrong. I nodded to my son, and she smirked at me. I said, "That's my son you are following," and the look on her face immediately changed. I am Caucasian and my son is African American. She said, "I'm not doing anything wrong." I replied, "Neither is my son." I asked to speak to her supervisor, and the clerk responded, "This is why I hate working this job." I walked to the supervisor's office, and the on-duty supervisor, Shannon, greeted me. I explained what occurred and that it looked like the clerk was profiling my son. She explained that the clerk was simply doing "recovery," as my son was looking through the racks. It was a fast and pat answer. I noted that there were several other customers in the aisles and that the clerk did not seem to be doing "recovery" for them. She said she did not know what else to tell me. I asked Shannon for the her manager's name for which which she provided an 800-number. She said no one would be in the office until Tuesday. I assured her I would be calling on Tuesday, as well as contacting ACLU Maine. This customer experience was a Maine adventure alright, but in the very worst way. I frequent the Renys in Wells and Saco.It's like going to the Christmas Tree Shop..I never come out with nothing. From food to clothing to paper goods I can always find something I have to have. I love some of the brand name clothing items.. carhartt. Alfred Dunner etc. and I do well with small appliances that I don't want to spend a lot on..they work well and I haven't spent a fortune. The inexpensive kids' toys and games were a Godsend when the grandchildren were small. Always had a fresh supply of things at the cottage for the summer visits. I do love this place! read more
