I walked around to check out some of the other spaces outside of the restaurant area and I love that they have kept so many of the historical facets and spaces alive. In the meantime, I really had no idea that a "taco Tuesday" in Broadalbin would actually be something to talk about! First thing to note is portion size. Gigantic. We all had leftovers. A LOT of leftovers. And while it might not be real "traditional" Mexican food, the quality was excellent. Food was nice and hot; our server was very friendly. The only glitch we hit: the iced tea tasted terrible. Not sure what happened there, but the rest of the meal made up for that. I have no idea what the rooms are like or how it is as a hotel, but if you live nearby, you might want to stop by for a nice meal. We could tell that lots of regulars go there. Hopefully whoever the new owners are will keep up the quality of food.

My neighbor mentioned they got a new chef last summer and reportedly creativity & quality has notched up. Based our most recent experience, I would agree! I tried the chicken parm which was very good. As usual, service was friendly and prompt. Also notable is that the Hotel typically has a nice selection of draft beers.

The owners are TERRIBLE people who threatened us with lawyers for telling them that their business is poorly run. It is a motel that is run like an airbnb with a code you put in to get into your room. There is no staff on site. After emailing the owners about the dirty towels, dirty bedding, dirty pillows and possible MOLD they said that it hasn't been cleaned in "2 weeks" due to a family emergency in the hospital. It seems to me like if you can't clean your property then you should cancel and refund any existing reservations. People left their shampoo in the shower the last time someone was there and that wasn't removed further proving the place wasn't cleaned. The hand towel had something yellow all over it. The bedding had some type of red sauce (maybe blood?) stain all over it and was always damp due to the massive ac/heating unit that is too big for the room. We had to purchase our own toilet paper as there wasn't any and the remote to the tv had batteries that had exploded in it. We also purchased our own batteries so we could use the tv at night. The door facing the road was UNLOCKED. The owners are not locals and live in NJ and frankly do not care about this property as proven by the fact that they're trying to sell it (for 1.1 million dollars. For a potentially mold infested motel!)

We asked before…read moresigning a dock lease if we could launch our boat on weekends and store it in the field during the week. We live three hours away and if a storm came through we wanted to make sure our boat was safe, they said that was not a problem, that was on May 21 (both managers present). On the weekend of July 4th my husband was yelled at by Glenn the manager and told "This has to stop NO day launching and you can bring that boat back to where ever the hell it came from" at this point he realized there was no talking to this man. That afternoon he went to the office to try to talk to Edie the other manager Glenn's wife all she would say was that she misunderstood our request and that really our only option was to take the boat elsewhere. I'm sorry but I was a manager of a bank for 10 years and currently a facility manager for a recycling/container company in New Jersey if I spoke to my clients that way I would expect to have none. Come to our site and speak to us like adults, we could've come up with an alternative solution but instead we had to pull our boat out and brought it to another marina. To add salt to our wound we were informed that our lease is not being renewed due to "Our Boat Issue" I asked what issue you said no more day launching so we removed our boat she stated that there was another issue at the curtesy dock do to a medical issue. We had just got to the dock when the boat came in and my husband helped tie them up at that point she just said we really don't have to give you a reason. To stay here is not cheap it was 3500 for our site and another 1400 for the dock, we are hardworking people and don't have money to just thrown around this was a big expense for us. We have a 19-month-old son and really enjoyed spending the summer here and meeting some great people but unfortunately this was not meant to be "OUR HAPPY PLACE" due to the management of the campground. It's their way or your out and that's what they will tell you because there is a waiting list!! Well I feel that if people knew how some of us were treated maybe there wouldn't be a list. Not once did they come to our site, call, email or give any type of notice that they had a problem with us just a letter in the mail stating we are not welcome back. We have also come to find that they have be showing our site before we were even notified these are some shady people that are ill equipped to run this establishment. Think about this why are there so many camps for sale or vacant for this coming season?!? Do yourselves a favor take your hard-earned money elsewhere trust me you'll be glad you did. I tried to discreetly report this to this to the general manager so that they could address it. The manager yelled at me, spoke over me, and called me "trouble". I would not trust these people with your families. I had my two little boys with me and I am very disappointed with myself for trusting this place with their safety. The box springs looked to be about 20 years old and weren't wrapped. Additionally the jetted tubs were dingy, there were lots of overgrowing weeds, and the bolts in the waterfront Adirondack chairs were loose. We stayed on Friday June 29th. We were staying at the motel for the weekend to attend a funeral and wake on Sunday July 1st. We were also planning to celebrate my husband's birthday on Saturday. We drove an extra 4 hours to go home Saturday and come back Sunday since we couldn't stay here with 2 little children who were very unhappy to be in the car. I had to clean my funeral attire on hot heat to destroy any bed bugs and damaged my dress shoes. I had to spend my Monday morning before work going to the doctor look at the bites. I can only imagine what other unsafe conditions exist at this motel. I would not trust them with my family again. It is a shame that they are ruining such a beautiful location with mismanagement and also soiling the reputation of a great area.

When we stayed there back in August, there was a little farm vegetable and fruit stand in front of their place--which was terrific, because we were able to get fresh veggies and fruits to have for with our meals. We also rented a canoe and a kayak to spend time in the evening and morning on the beautiful lake watching and listening to the loons.
