I came to Detroit for a conference and a local friend took me to Dearborn Heights which is the first Arab-majority city in the US as of 2023. People were interested in hookah, hanging out, and grabbing dessert. This ticked all the boxes. When you first walk in, there is a hostess area where you can check-in. They have two floating swings that are perfect for a photo-op. We were seated pretty quickly. Since it's a hookah lounge, they also allow smoking. We moved to the corner table away from the cigarette smoking which was really helpful. We had our own corner with like 15 of us so it was great to spend a little extra time together. Everyone loved the hookah and tried several different flavors. The desserts that were ordered were very good. It just bit a long time to arrive. The staff were kind. I saw groups of friends and date nights so the crowd is for everyone. Tons of TVs everywhere to watch sports. They have valet parking so if you do not want to pay, you can find nearby street parking. read more

I hv been to Blue Moon several times. Busy place. Made reservations for 6 a day ahead for 9pm with waitress "N". Arrived at 8:45pm. promised a table in 10-15 min. Waited at least one hour. When the promised section was vacated the owner of Blue Moon (a kid) gave the table to other party and did not care when waitress told him that we were promised that table. When i approached him to inquire he walked away. Had I known that this KID was the owner i would hv never visited. This place is over-rated and has become more of a low class and a pick-up joint than a restaurant. read more

Not my first time here, The place was really nice, and very clean, lively, and welcoming. We went on a busy Friday night, but since we had made a reservation (which I highly recommend!), we were seated right away. Without one, it's pretty hard to get a nice table. The food was great and came out quickly, even with how packed it was. The music and overall vibe were on point. They also serve excellent hookah with lots of flavor options, and the staff and servers were genuinely friendly and attentive. The vibe here is very soothing, calm, and delightful. Hookah flavors are always on point, the staff know what they're doing. The staff here know how to communicate and make everything to your liking. Have gone here twice now and both times have been a good time. The food is a little over priced but that is why I knocked off a star from them. Overall, the staff and the hookah is pretty good. The week days are better to go if you do not want a lot of people but the weekends are busy with people coming and and going. The place is super clean and never felt like too smokey. read more

The food was absolutely horrible, no exaggeration. There were 3 of us and we each got our meals about 10-15 min apart. Everything we got was cold which was so surprising because we ordered mostly fried appetizers, which one would expect would be quick and hot. Next, the service, I hate rating this part usually because one bad apple shouldn't spoil the bunch, right? But no, it's not like there was one bad waiter or waitress, that's not the case. EVERYONE, including the valet just was bad. Valet charged us $5 to park our own car, the waitress was so slow, with everything, all our dishes came out and we had no cutlery, no napkins, no condiments, nothing. And the restaurant was literally empty. On top of all of the our bill came up to $134. I wish I would've gave the money to someone on the street because the entire experience was worth the $5 we paid for valet. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. read more

I was hired on behalf of Doordash to photograph some of owner Ali Beydoun's dishes for Fatima's Kitchen in the Hookah lounge. Look at theses dishes!! WOW! The chef Ali, trained in Turkey and also worked under an Italian chef has been with this wonderful establishment for 4 years. His presentation is notably wonderful. But the tate of his dishes are special. He puts a lot of passion into his cooking and it shows! I highly recommend this place for their delicious food. read more

I came here for the first time last night and I can't say there's much that motivates me to come back here again. Starting off with the atmosphere, this place was packed -- as in there are so many people here, it's probably a fire hazard. The tables were so cramped next to each other, my night was spent having to listen to a group of girls shrieking and cackling in front of me and some bros yelling over how much they enjoyed their card game. My ears feel just as plugged from concerts I've been to after leaving this place. The tables were close enough to each other that our shoulders were practically touching the people who were seated next to us. And the tables and chairs inside this place are essentially patio furniture, which is great for a barbecue in my backyard, not so much for a lounge. Next is the service. After we were seated, we weren't acknowledged until we had to flag down multiple people. Once a server was finally assigned to our table and took our order, we played the wait game. Over 20 minutes for our hookahs and drinks to come out. It shouldn't take you that long to get drinks out. And over an hour and a half until the food came out. Eventually, another server had to come by and retake our order because I assume our previous order was lost among all the other requests. I get they were busy and I know that you have to wait when businesses are overwhelmed with many customers, but this was ridiculous. If it weren't for the people with me, I would've just paid for my drink and left without the food. Meanwhile, the hookahs we had weren't set up properly; there was no air flow through the pipe, which meant more waiting until someone could come by and fix it. When our food did come out, it was good, but honestly, it's nothing different from what's served at every other restaurant in Dearborn. I don't necessarily blame the servers for the bad service. I think they're just severely understaffed for the amount of patrons they serve. Either hire more people or make a wait list at the door instead of cramping everyone in together. They're not offering anything unique or different, so if you're hungry and also want hookah, I'd recommend you go somewhere else with a better atmosphere and better service. read more

I'm glad this store is open during COVID, we had a party of 11 people. They didn't check anyone's ID's except one of us because they thought he was to young. But he pulled up a picture of his passport on his phone. So they let him in. I enjoyed my lemonade with mint! Delicious, but my wrap I order was cold! So was some of my friends! I told our server I wanted to pay for my table because they spilt our table for social distancing reasons. He told me to wait so there isn't any mistakes. So our server came up to us and told us! It's easier for him to separate everyone's bill so all of my friends were okay with that, until he brought back our bills and split everyone's total amount with both tables. So everyone's bill was $30 with a $5 tip added to everyone's receipt. A lot of us were upset because some people who weren't smoking hookah had to pay for it. I wrote on my receipt explaining that I will write a review on Yelp, because I was upset and did not want to talk to him. But he came up to me and asked me what I wrote, I said do you not know how to read, he said he does but what does Yelp mean, I explained what Yelp was and asked me if I'm going to write a good review or a bad one in a rude way. I used to frequent this place often but honestly i stopped going and haven't gone back after a year. The food is okay some days and great other days, the hookah is horrible and service is even worse. The manager is the worst i have ever met, one of the servers is a old friend of mine and used to work for me and when i see her i hugged her and he said i can't hug employees. Another time one of the employees was off the clock and was sitting there staring at the group of girls i was with and when i said Hi he wanted to start a fight, batoul and Tiffany, Farah and the Valet guys are the only people with any respect or customer service experience. I really want to give this place more stars. The very first time I came, it was evening and very busy. We received really good service and the food was really good. Unfortunately, this time everything was opposite. Let me say, our waitress was new. I'm taking this into consideration. My order was wrong. I feel like they may have been rushing to get me the correct order because my fries could have cooked a little more. My bill was wrong (but they fixed it - I'm glad I looked it over). This place is tucked away in the Dearborn heights area for all the hookah lovers. Great outdoor seating, indoor seating is just as good, the place has huge indoor seating. I was in town from Los Angeles for a wedding and was seriously thinking Dearborn, MI was not gonna have much to offer. Then enters Blue Moon Hookah lounge. The service was great, the Hookah flavors are plentiful, and the pineapple head was everything. It was so great we came twice in 12 hours! They have tv's everywhere so it a great place to watch a sporting event like the World Cup. Did I mention the service was great! Tiffany and Hussein were incredible and made sure we had everything we needed. Oh, yeah their smoothies are awesome! I definitely will be back whenever I come back to Detroit/Dearborn. The "fill in manager" Ali Zain decided to be completely and utterly disrespectful to my sister who was visiting from Florida as we were paying our bill. We ordered a pizza and the waitress Aya respectfully told us the oven wasn't working which was totally okay. When we got the bill at the end of the night we were still charged for it and we requested it to be removed since why would we pay for something we didn't get right? Not only did Ali YELL at Aya in front of us he tells her to take out HER money and pay the cost of the pizza (that wasn't even made) because he couldn't refund it. Another waitress came and took out her money to hand to my sister although she didn't want to take it from a waitress because why should she have to pay for something that needed to be refunded? Ali puts the money down and sarcastically says "we're .99 cents short". Not only is my sister in awe as she's a visitor here- she comes back to the table super upset about how she and the waitress were talked to by someone acting as a manager. I confronted Ali myself and asked why he was being so rude to customers asking to be refunded for something that they didn't receive and he verbatim says "why don't you respect yourself so I can respect you" then continues to say "I'm done with this conversation I'm not talking to you". I'm not sure what kind of customer service this is but a person who walks around a business acting as a fill in manager, bringing its reputation down should have their position reconsidered. I will NEVER come back to Blue Moon as long as Ali is an "acting manager" because he is so rude and disrespectful not only to customers but staff as well so that should say something. Not sure where to even start, this place is terrible, from the service, to the food, and the hookah. Our waitress was always missing and apparently "very busy", the food was very low quality, such as the nachos that had cold thick disgusting cheese over them, they even somehow messed up the tea, and the hookah was burnt before it hit our table. We arrived on sat July 13th at 1 am because this hooka lounge closes at 3am. The hooka was good. The mango juice was made fresh but I recommend the smoothie over it because the smoothie made with yogurt which makes it taste better. At 1 30 am, they turned off the music, turned on the lights, and started cleaning around us (mopping floors, cleaning tables, and putting chairs on top of the table). We asked to confirm what time the place closes and they said it closed at 3am, but since nobody else was here they were going to clean up early. I understand starting to clean up 30 min before closing because you want to go home. But starting to clean up and turn off the ambience 1.5 hr before closing time is too much. We were really dissapointed because we came from NY to spend time with our cousins in michigan. It felt weird and I felt rushed when they started cleaning, turned off music, and turned on the lights 15 min after I got my hooka and drink. Two stars 100% service related. The food is great and the hookah is too. The service is absolutely awful. We were seated and had to ask someone walking by 10 minutes later if we could have a server. We When we finally received our food, two of us got ours and it was another 5-8 minutes waiting for the 3rd meal which is probably kitchen related no big deal but the waiter never communicated that it was taking a little longer or would be out shortly or anything. I wanted to request a water and more ranch but the waiter came back and was gone before I could swallow the drink in my mouth and speak. When he finally came back we were basically done eating.. I never got my ranch or my water and he didn't ask if we needed anything else or how our meals were.
