The DJ had us dancing all night and the staff was so polite. The drinks were good & strong. Unfortunately it was only 2 bartenders and a packed bar/restaurant. Parking was free on the night I visited, but I'm fairly sure that there's normally a charge. There is a coat check, which is nice. I was alone so I sat at the bar which seats about 20 in really close quarters. There are also several tables. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and salmon croquettes with potatoes and onions. The dish was served with a sort of remoulade. The croquettes were thin and slightly overcooked with crispy edges, but had good seasoning. I enjoyed the potatoes with onion. The happy hour menu is very affordable with various food items and drinks. The regular menu items are also inexpensive. A dj was spinning, which was a great. The music was appropriate for the crowd. I bopped for sure. The staff was courteous, but I did wait quite a while for my meal and my bill. One of the owners checked on me often which made me feel welcome and my patronage appropriated. I would recommend giving it a try. I will definitely return.

From the team that brought you Apt Disco, comes a downtown subterranean dance club, Low Key. True…read moreto the name, it's definitely low key compared to more glitzy and garrish clubs (e.g. Boogie Fever): it's dark and it has a nice cement dance floor. There's also ample space to sit and it's accessible as they have an elevator, though most people would just take the stairs. The drinks are well priced for downtown but if you're looking for a specialty cocktail, this is not the place. I usually just get a vodka soda and add a lemon packet to it. Bonus points that they have American Vodka as a well if you, like me, would like to never drink Tito's again. It would be wonderful if they could stock the Deep Eddy flavors, save me from having to bring flavor packets. Last night they did have a speciality cocktail, a take on a Bees Knees, which was good, though a little sweet for me (my friends who like sweet really liked it). Because it's downtown, I don't go as often as I would to a neighborhood place. Also, only open Fridays and Saturdays. Check their insta to see what's going on, we've been here a couple times for Disco Daddies but they have DJs usually. While Detroit has no shortage of dance clubs, Low Key occupies a very specific space and vibe so it's well worth visiting regularly. See you on the dancefloor!
