However,…read moreafter an engineer friend of mine had his system replaced by Acker Heating & Cooling he couldn't say enough good things about them. I requested quotes from 2 reputable companies, (both by personal references) to replace my upstairs, (guest suite) heat pump. The other company sent out a tech, who read the numbers off my existing units and quoted a cost to replace exactly what I had. The owner, of Acker H&C came out and evaluated my entire system, asking questions of past performance of the system, etc. He sized service lines, duct work size and runs before quoting a replacement system. The following day after researching options he proposed a new system that would overcome the extensive amount of existing duct work that was limiting adequate air flow. The replacement system would be slightly larger in air tonnage and also compressor size. The work was scheduled for 2 weeks out, however we were expecting guests that weekend. Acker H&C came out before my guests arrived and got the system temporally cooling at no cost to me. The final installation was done within the day on the date promised. The service techs were all extremely polite, professional and covered every square inch of work area with drop cloths before beginning. After allowing several days to be sure everything was working as expected, the owner came out to inspect the work of his crew. It was not until this time that I made payment of any kind. As it ended up, my final invoice was less than expected and the quality of the work was impeccable.

The service guy Justin was there for about 3 hours. He was clearly aggravated. After he replaced the motor there was still no heat flowing thru the vents. He went under the house & when he came out he told me that the duct work was detached & he had fixed it. Charged me $550. Thirty minutes after he left there was still no heat flowing so my boyfriend went under the house not only was the duct work completely detached but it was lying on the ground. Spent another $110 at Lowes for new duct & fixed it ourselves. Later I removed the cover to the heat pump & found bared wires twisted together with no end caps & 2 breakers turned off. I've had my thermostat set at 76 for 8 days and the temperature has not risen above 65. Barely any heat at all. They charge a 400% mark up on the motor. I found the same one online for $95. When I called them I spoke to the owner. He refused to even come by & look at the issues even though they advertise a labor warranty. He the accused me of detaching the duct myself. He then told me that I had already paid & it was a done deal & basically told me to go f*** myself. Luckily my cell phone records. Today I began criminal procedings for verbal battery against the owner & legal procedings for fraud against the company.

He gave good insight as to what I wanted and was able to schedule me within a day. They were on time, and were the neatest crew I've ever used! He asked to use a vacuum as they "like to clean as they go." Work was complete in less than 45 minutes, furniture moved back in place, exactly what I wanted. Eric, from Phase Shift Electric was one of my quotes. Phase Shift was extremely well priced, but my main reason for going with Eric was because he could complete the work sooner than the other electrical companies. Eric arrived promptly at 9:00 am today and did not leave until 5:00 pm when the work was completed. Eric installed 3 outside porch lights, reinstalled 2 new flood lights, cleaned up the electrical panel, rewired a brand new island light that was too long, installed 2 ceiling LED lights, installed new boxes, electrical outlets and light switches throughout the kitchen and the new island, installed 2 new GFI fuses in the electrical box, installed 2 new outside electrical outlets. He also went into the crawl space to remove the electrical wires from the floor resulting from a wall being removed to open the kitchen to the living room. Our laundry room was giving off a rotten egg odor. Mark knew before looking at anything what the problem was. (Spoiler Alert: it wasn't the laundry room at all). He fixed us again for a very reasonable price.

Thank God my husband and I were home for the day when I realised there was no hot water prompting us to step into the garage to find the hot water heater on fire, requiring a fire extinguisher and a call to 911 plus it was leaking everywhere. I attempted to contact him by phone with 12-15 calls in total from multiple numbers, text messages (a number he previously texted me on) and emails through his website where I have been left with no response still to this day. Both the unit and his work were still under warranty (an additional cost I paid directly to him) I expected some response considering his highly recommended status locally, instead I was left with paying another plumber to install a new hot water heater less than a week before Christmas. Additionally, I have been left to fight with the manufacturer to warranty the heater which resulted in receiving less than a $400 refund from the company when his work and the unit should have been fully covered under the purchased warranty resulting in full replacement. I paid $2300 for the unit, work and an additional warranty to only find out with the equipment used was subpar (likely purchased on some discount or discontinued item list) and the lack of updated piping and pressure valve (20 yr old home) should have only cost me roughly $1000. Not to mention the fact he did not properly install/wire the unit hence sparking the fire, I could have lost my pets, home and all the contents within. Now weeks later still no response from Mark or anyone else from Leader plumbing assuming there is anyone else besides him after two certified letters also mailed. A reputable businessman I am finding he is NOT from interactions I have had to try and locate him and ensure warranty of the work and item installed.
