Last weekend I texted a friend and asked if she and her hubby wanted to joint me and my hubby.....she responded YES!!!! Oh, my. Why don't I make time every time I visit Missoula? The food is amazing! They've added onto the building probably 3-4 times over the year reflecting how popular they are. The ambiance is a bit like going to Grandma's house. It's not super upscale....but comfy and homey. Plenty of parking and some outdoor seating for summer. They are open Fri/Sat...Sun? You pick from the list of maybe 4 appetizers, 6+ entrees....having a sample of wine while you "shop". Before you are seated you have a chance to view the 5 different homemade breads you may order with dinner, and the 5 or so homemade desserts. Once you are seated....you order what you want. Of course, we always order too much. The portions are BIG. We had a nice bottle of wine (they also have beer), an AMAZING pumpkin ravioli, sampled 2 of the breads (garlic knots and sun dried tomato bread), dinner comes with salad....then came the HUGE entree. I had the Misto Mare (this included calamari, clams, shrimp, with a choice of sauce and pasta...I had clam sauce and fettuccine). It was delicious! They had these tasty fried squash blossoms on the side of the plate...yummy. This is a family-run business. I remember when the children used to serve us water and bring our silverware. One Combo plate, taco with ground beef, one cheese enchilada, one chicken burrito with rice and beans very good and quite large. Excellent service, helpful and friendly. Finished our meal and talking to the staff we found out the restaurant is under new management. It was very good before, but we both agreed it's even just a little bit better now.
