It wasn't until I escalated repeatedly that someone finally got back to me, promising to "make it right" and offer a discount for the disorganization. That never truly materialized. Our drivers showed up late, weren't informed of the itinerary until the night before, and we were charged for 15 guests even though only 13 attended (offered a partial refund for the missing 2). Two vans arrived when one would have been enough -- a clear sign of poor planning. Our Buffalo Trace tour wasn't at the time requested, and our group got split, likely due to late booking. If you're just looking for a ride between distilleries, this company might do the job. But if you want a stress-free, well-organized experience with honest follow-through -- look elsewhere.

The tour included 3 beers and a walk through of the brewery. Our tour guide was so much fun and even had cupcakes for our friends birthday! After West Sixth we got on the party bus. Bill, the party bus driver, was waiting for us. He was so friendly and immediately told us about the coolers and passed us the aux cord. Bill drove us to the distillery district where we went on tours at Wise Bird and Ethereal. We spent around 2 hours in this area which was nice because we had the option to get food. From Ethereal we went to Rock House Brewery, then to Mirror Twin! At each brewery we got a tour and small explanation on how they made their beer. We also got plenty of samples at each brewery. Mirror Twin was our final destination. We arrived just in time for the UK game! Part of our tour included a small seating area for our friends to watch the UK game! Everybody at Lex on Tab was so friendly and accommodating- I would recommend this tour to everybody!

Jeff was extremely knowledgeable and so engaging. He has been working in the industry for years and followed in the foot steps of his father and grandfather. We could have listened to him all day. It's amazing to walk through a home that has such a direct connection to both Mary Todd Lincoln and Abraham Lincoln and to see the rooms where Mary spent part of her childhood. The house itself is beautiful and has a lot of character. The period furnishings, family portraits, artwork and other artifacts really help bring the history to life. I especially enjoyed being able to walk from room to room and actually see the kind of home Mary grew up in rather than just reading about her in a history book. One thing I really liked was learning more about Mary Todd Lincoln herself. She was much more than simply Abraham Lincoln's wife, and the exhibits do a good job showing her life from her childhood in Lexington through her years as First Lady and later in life. There are a lot of interesting details about her education, family and experiences that I didn't know before visiting. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the self-guided format was nice because we could take our time and really look at everything without feeling rushed. The small garden behind the house was also a nice touch and gave us a peaceful place to walk around after touring the home. The location in downtown Lexington is convenient too, and it's easy to combine this with other things to see, restaurants and attractions in the area. There's also a complimentary downtown walking tour available, which is a nice bonus. Overall, this was a great historical experience. If you enjoy American history, presidential history, historic homes or just visiting unique places that have a real story behind them, I would definitely recommend the Mary Todd Lincoln House. The Mary Todd Lincoln House is a beautifully preserved window into the early life of a complex First Lady and the turbulent times she lived through. We opted for the guided tour, and it was absolutely the right choice. Phillip was our guide, and he didn't just recite facts. He gave perspective. Thoughtful, objective, and deeply knowledgeable, he handled the complicated dynamics of a slave-owning border state with grace and clarity. He was also incredibly kind in his portrayal of Mary Todd Lincoln, helping us see her not as a caricature, but as a layered, resilient, and deeply human figure. Each room is meticulously curated. Not every item was original to the Todd or Lincoln families, but everything was period appropriate and helped tell the story. The artifacts weren't just on display. They became part of the narrative, which made it all the more engaging. What surprised me most was how much the visit made me reflect on grief ... her profound losses, her perseverance, and the emotional weight she carried as First Lady during the Civil War. It gave me a new respect for her. And even better? My wife, who is not a big history buff, was the one who suggested we go, and she loved it. That says a lot. The whole tour ran a little over an hour and was the perfect pace. Despite the unseasonably hot June day, the air conditioning kept us comfortable, and the staff were welcoming from start to finish. Mary, the tour coordinator, was at the welcome desk. She said the morning tours were over for the day, but she could give me a quick look around. Well she went above and beyond! I was able to see the clubhouse, the Makers Mark room, and a few other really neat spots with great views of the track. Sadly Saturday's race is sold out, and Sunday is Easter, so the track is closed, but I feel like I've already experienced so much of Keeneland. If we don't get tickets for this week, it was well worth my impromptu visit to check it out, all thanks to Mary's friendliness, and her knowledge of the property's interesting history.
