A few weeks ago, I came to Victoria to join a race and wanted to try a brunch place while I was there. Blue Fox Café seems like a really popular spot, we waited for around an hour, and the line didn't stop even as it got close to closing time. The portions are massive, and the menu is quite varied. I'd definitely recommend sharing, as I can't imagine finishing anything on my own (we took the pancakes to go for a pre-race breakfast). They also have a pretty quirky drink menu, with options like chili hot chocolate and hot cider. I really enjoyed my dirty chai, nicely spiced without being too sweet. Overall, recommended if you are in Victoria! Just come prepared to wait for a table. Oranges del Sol ($22) Two griddle cakes (massive, thick pancakes - I'm pretty sure they used buttermilk) with oranges, pecans, vanilla bean cream, and orange blossom syrup. As a sweet tooth, this was my favorite! The pancakes were super fluffy, and the orange added a refreshing twist. I also loved the orange blossom syrup and they even gave us extra at no extra charges for the leftovers. Chorizo & Eggs ($21) Eggs with spicy chorizo and tomato purée, served alongside toast and jam. A solid dish; the chorizo added a nice kick, though the egg texture felt a bit off to me. I think potatoes would have paired better than the toast. My main complaint was that the dish was served cold. Moroccan Chicken Benny ($24) This benny was served on a bagel instead of the traditional English muffin. The portions were generous, and the chicken was tender, though the overall taste was a bit on the sweet side (probably from the apple chutney or Moroccan spice). Still, one of the better Bennies I've had... their hollandaise was quite good.

Worth the wait!! Expect to wait atleast 45 minutes. Food is delicious and large portions. Both greens and breakfast potatoes amazing not sure which one was better. The best breakfast/brunch when in Victoria!

Truthfully, I did not take his photo. But it's so perfect for this cafe.

Ok, so there is a line. Ok, I'm not going to say it goes fast. Although, I will say, parties of 2 get seated faster than larger parties. We were there on a very busy Sunday afternoon. Trust me when I say, you need to eat here. I promise we 4 all forgot about the hour & 15 minutes we waited outside in line; after we were eating a delectable meal! Simple as that! Inside the restaurant is adorable, maybe fairytale-ish. Suggestion: share the pancake. It is too huge for one person, perhaps even 2. But most importantly, they are delicious! We saw some "regulars" sit down & the 4 of them shared one meal, the pancakes. They were full & satisfied when they left! Everyone deserves to taste these. Tastes like eating a gift from the universe. Their lemonade was scrumptious, their hot chocolate, the Eggs Benedict was perfection! The staff is fantastic! Like crazy nice, efficient & personable! Best experience & best food! Don't bother going elsewhere!

I do not believe they take reservations so we went and waited an hour plus...Well it's worth a solid 30 minute wait but the hour ish took us all over the top. With that being said the restaurant is small and two tops are a way easier way to be seated fyi.... We had 4 ppl.. so once seated we learned you have an hour to sit once your food arrives (which we appreciated because we waited for the previous table to time out)..lol. But once seated the food and staff are fabulous! Food is served hot, well flavored and plentiful! Everything is farm to table basically... their eggs are a deep orange yolk and the flavors of their food is delicious! Kudos. I mean if you can make tofu taste amazing and I love tofu... you can do anything! Food and jams... don't miss their toast and jams! Yummy yum yum

Everything is incredible about this place. Do not skip on your trip to Victoria! There will be a wait but don't fret the line moves quick. Food is so flavorful and they give large portions! Ambiance is so cute and cozy.

Tasted the Moroccan eggs Benedict. Typically don't like hollandaise sauce but the spices did not make it taste like that kind of sauce. I ended up not eating the bagel bread under the Benny because the chicken and eggs were very filling. Tried the potatoes. Very well done and tasty. Portions are shareable.

The Blue Fox Cafe was such a fun and delicious experience to start our laid back day in Victoria. Our server, Amber, was incredibly attentive, fun, and friendly. The food and coffee were FANTASTIC, absolutely loved it, no notes. It seems to be adored by many, so get there early before there is a line out the door.

I really didn't realize there was anywhere in Victoria that required an hour wait but what do I know. Clearly a really popular brunch place and I wish we had more time on the island so we could've waited more leisurely. As it was, it was agonizing standing in line knowing our time was dwindling second by second. Thank god it was good though. I got the morrocan chicken benedict and i think the chicken was poached or something? It was a good benedict but mostly I really liked the breakfast potatoes.

Avocado Toast.

Food was amazing and the people working there were all so great. When we come back we will be back. You will not leave hungry.

Had a line of about 20 people when they opened so time your visit if that's a no go for you. The place is small but has a great bfast place vibe. All the food we saw coming out looked amazing! The person at the next table had a French toast with oranges on it and it looked so good that it was all my might not to grab my fork and steal a bite . I had the Huevos Rancheros and my husband had the Spanish flying omelette. Both were melt in your mouth delicious . Seasoned to perfection and fresh, quality ingredients. The chorizo was especially flavorful. Would totally recommend this place. Casual vibe, great service and excellent food.

Drinks were fabulous, we got the chai, hot chocolate, and coffee. All were great! The food was good except for the pancakes, I wouldn't really recommend those unless you like mushy undercooked pancakes. The service was also great overall. The inside was crowded and loud with the music but it was fine after a while. Overall - 4 stars!

Eggs Benedict on a bagel - classic

So happy to be reacquainted with the beauty and bountifulness of that cornucopia of deliciousness - The Blue Fox! (I can only find a red fox emoji ) . My favorite dish is the classic eggs Benedict and side salad. Yes. I pine for that benny. One could say I've developed a long-term long-distance relationship with a menu item. Let them talk about this unusual love affair! They don't know how special dear 'Benny' is. It is definitely a one-way relationship because I'm the only one who gets anything out of it. Sure, it has been around 8 years since I I've had it. But we are making it work ...The eggs Benedict and mixed green salad were beyond delish. I'm a fan of a benny on a bagel and this place delivers. The love story continues...

Prompt seating, good ambiance, great service, delicious food in generous portions! We ordered three different dishes and shared and still took home leftovers. Loved their house made sausage and thick cut bacon. Potatoes were crisp on the outside. Coffee was bottomless, too! Just yum on every bite!!

Very best breakfast and good service. We love going here. It's a bit of a hole in the wall, but the food is good and well portioned.

Little June is the cutest corner coffee shop, offering a great selection of pastries and sandwiches (which I'll definitely come back to try!). The lattes and coffees are also noticeably cheaper than many other cafes around here, which was such a pleasant surprise. The space is modern, bright, and perfect for a casual date or even getting some work done. Definitely check out this adorable cafe and explore the nearby shops!

Little June is a charming coffee shop serving breakfast, brunch, and pastries/baked goods. Fernwood coffee is also available here. We ordered an iced latte and an iced London fog. My particular favourite was the iced latte. I believe they utilize Earl Grey powder for their London fog, and I was pleasantly pleased by how wonderful it tasted. It was unusual because I was not used to the powder but rather the tea bags. The host at the cashier was really kind and provided wonderful service. They have tons of seatings. I loved how open and airy the space was! I'll have to try their brunch the next time I visit. I highly recommend this cute little spot!

Fairholme Manor - Amazing breakfast!!

I was so excited to stay here at Fairholme Manor given the positive reviews but I thought overall…read moreit was just okay. Let me start off by saying breakfast really was five stars. It was delicious and beautiful. A lot of love and effort is put into this. Sylvia's scones are phenomenal. If she opened up a bakery I would buy all her scones and loaves. The bathroom is a nice size with a big tub. So why the three stars? There is a radiator in the room but ours didn't work well and would heat up and did not stay hot. We were cold. If you are on the first floor please note that sound travels. you can really hear any movement above you and you can hear conversations very well outside your room which didn't make me feel particularly comfortable since I'm sure even just is talking normally can be heard by others as well. Didn't feel amazing from a privacy perspective. When you book it says there is daily housekeeping. There's no daily housekeeping. We were asked if anything was missing from our room by the breakfast server but nothing else. If you're expecting your trash to be emptied or bed to be made that did not happen our whole stay. Location: not really walkable to the downtown area or most things in Victoria. A couple other small things that I wouldn't even mention if the above two were no issue: The bed was okay although not super comfortable in my opinion. The outlets are really inconvenient and there aren't many. They mention there is tea, hot chocolate, and coffee. There's no hot chocolate and no creamer in your room if you want some later. I do think this place could be good for others but it was not the right fit for us. For a bed and breakfast the room just wasn't super comfortable for us to want to spend time there.

Sylvia is a gracious experienced host with great recommendations for dinner spots. We tried both Pennyfarthing and Pagliacci and were happy with the both choices. Pagliacci had a good live band. And to top it off a small herd of deer have made the neighborhood their home. It all added up to a great stay. We'll book Fairholme again for sure.
