I was visiting Victoria and heard good things about this place, so decided to stop by for brunch. The wait outside was very short (less than 5 minutes) and the staff were attentive and friendly. I ordered the Maple Latte, which was awesome!! I wish I could stop by again just for that, or to try one of the cocktails, which looked amazing too. For food I chose The Breakfast Club Sandwich with fresh fruit, which was also good (I especially liked the pesto). Consider stopping by if you're in the area! What an amazing breakfast. We were there the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and fortunately we were able to get a seat right away. The entire time we were there, there was a continuous line up of customers. The lineup did move fairly quickly though. They ask that you do not linger over breakfast and to keep your time to 1 hour. It is a really cute little café and all the staff are very friendly. We felt well attended to during our meal. I had the Portobello benny. OMG. It is probably one of the best bennies that I've had. It had the Portobello mushroom, spinach and tomato, and nicely poached eggs on a bagel. It had just the right amount of hollandaise sauce. So many restaurants put too much hollandaise on their bennies and it detracts from the taste of the other ingredients. It came with delicious chunky potatoes. My husband had the flying Spanish omelette. He enjoyed his omelette as well but he said that next time he would order something different. He raved about his caramel macadamia nut latte however and said that he would return just for that. This was one of the best breakfasts that I had during our staycation. This place does eggs benedict better than some popular San Diego (CA) brunch spots! Loved the Moroccan chicken benny. The spices and the seasoning is just perfect and went well with the poached egg. The hollandaise sauce was unexpectedly bit foamy instead of creamy though. The Wild smoked salmon omelet was a 3-egg portion. The smoked salmon is cooked in the omelet and not too salty. The capers topped over definitely brightened up each bite. Sides were also worth a mention. The pan roasted potatoes were super flavorful as if it was cooked with broth or stock. Raisin toast with housemade jam was a perfect match. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. The pancakes looked enticing and upon inquiring we ordered a half portion of Ambrosia Apple pancakes. The pancake was thick and fluffy inside and a bit of slight crunch on the edges. This was definitely still a giant portion. Leftovers of the omelet and potatoes turned into our next day's breakfast. We saw the line down the street the day before and knew we had to try it. We got there 9 minutes after they opened and we got the last open table. The coffee? Wonderful. The waitstaff? Attentive and kind. The food? Life changing. We ordered the avocado toast and the salmon omelet. They were kind enough to give me a side of their ambrosia apples for my toast and alternating between that and what I'm assuming was homemade strawberry jam, I was in heaven. The omelet was incredible too. I didn't get a picture of my food because I dug in too fast but I've attached a pic of the avocado toast. The person I went with didn't think they would be able to finish it was so big but they polished off without a problem! I will be returning here again without a doubt! Visiting Vancouver and decided to check this place out and I am so glad I did. Definitely not disappointed. The atmosphere is welcoming. It's quaint and small. And when there are people always waiting to be seated you know the place is good. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Always had a fresh refill of water, coffee and mimosas. I ordered the Moroccan chicken Benny and we also got the fox's grill. Wow wow wow. The Benny had a great hollandaise sauce with some sweet chutney that made the flavors pop. The chicken was tender and absolutely delicious. The eggs were so good as well. Overall no complaints here on any front and the Ue Fox Cafe is definitely worth the visit. Can't believe I'm giving 5-stars after waiting in line for 45 mins but, I am. It was worth the wait! Great twist on traditional dishes. Also, try one of their coffees. This was my choice for Best Of Victoria winner in our recent episode on Victoria. We waited about 30 minutes for a table and there are plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating. I ordered the Migas and Amigos platter and loved every bit of it. The best part of the meal was definitely the banana jam... they need to sell this. Chorizo was nice, not overly spicy. Potatoes were chunky and well done. Other than that, the Caesar was delish, the experience was wonderful and I will definitely be back again in the future to try other dishes. read more

Alright so waiting in Victoria at brunch places is kind of a theme, so prepare your day accordingly when you get here. We waited for around 30 mins here to get a table and were seated in a cozy setting. The tables are well spaced and the ambiance reminds your of the blue fox (duh!) I wanted to try their Mac Nut latte and decided to take the whipped cream off. My husband tried their macchiato and we both liked the latte over the macchiato quite a lot. For brunch, I decided to go for Fox's grill and the husband tried one of the eggs Benny variants that they have. The quantity are a bit much and for some reason they load the plates with potatoes!!! I appreciate the quantities but almost all the folks around me ended up wasting the potatoes which made me wonder if they should rethink and maybe adjust the prices accordingly. I ended up doggy packing some of the Foxs grill, but both the dishes had great flavor! I would go back for more someday as I think there's a lot this place has to offer!! read more

A great place for brunch! Good vibes, friendly staffs and most importantly good food! I thought I have seen enough of ginormous brunches but damn, the Mexican Bar Omelette is another level. It's kinda like a burrito, but wrapped in eggs instead of tortilla. Have that being said, you wouldn't feel like you are eating Mexican cuisine, it's still very breakfast/ brunch LOL The filling... is very filling HAHA. There's A LOT of beef, with onions, beans, rice. The egg is very nicely cooked, smooth and surprisingly very present- with all those strong flavours you can still taste the egg. The omelette is packed with texture and flavour, every bite is a party on your palette. I would definitely suggest opt for salad instead of potatoes and toast (I am glad I did, or else I wouldn't have finished the whole thing. And I also feel slightly healthier despite the ridiculous amount of calories I shoved into my stomach.) For drinks, I ordered the Maple Latte recommended by the staff. I usually don't like any sweetener in my coffee, so I was a bit hesitant about the choice, but she said she could adjust the amount of maple syrup to make it less sweet. The sweetness is just right for me, I still get to taste the maple flavour, topped with fresh whipped cream and sprinkle of nutmeg (I believe it's nutmeg..?). I am not usually willing to go out for breakfast considering how easy it is to make but this one is another exception. My personal favorite thing they did that I have not seen (in writing) before was an option for the chef to make you something off the menu of their choice. You just give them your dietary restriction or preference of savory or sweet and they cook you something up. That being said, they wouldn't matter if the food wasn't good and luckily it was. We hadn't been here for a few years, and finally decided to come down for breakfast this morning. We waited in line (no big deal, we're used to it) and were seated after 20 mins, which is amazing in this town. I ordered the eggs delmenico benny, which is a delicious cooked salmon fillet on an open bagel, and covered in holly and capers. It was incredibly flavorful and just the right amount of tang. First time visiting and this was very tasty. We got Huevos Ranchero and Eggs Pacifico Benedict. Both meals were excellent and huge! Rancheros were spicy and delicious. She got eggs scrambled and a side of sourdough. The Pineapple marmalade with the toast was Incredible! Potatoes were a bit under done, but everything else was great. The Benedict had a great amount of everything. The hollandaise was fresh and the smoked salmon was a good, salty compliment to everything. I'm a huge fan of brunch food, and when I heard about how good the Blue Fox Cafe, I knew I had to give it a try. As I glanced through the photos, I got myself excited for the meal to come during my short trip to BC. I came as a party of 2 around 11 AM on a Saturday morning, glad that there weren't as many waiting as we feared. After an approximate 20-30 minute wait in the cold, we were seated at a comfortable table. The waitress gave a great intro to a few boozy breakfast drinks offered so we both opted for one. Belgian hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps: great and well balanced flavor, topped with a generous portion of whipped cream and peppermint sprinkles. Coffee with Bailey's and Kahlua: fragrant and a good choice for any coffee lover. Both drinks were lukewarm unfortunately, likely to prevent immediate melting of the whipped cream topping. We had a big savory craving so we went with an omelet and an eggs benedict. Smoked salmon omelet: generous portions of lightly cooked salmon making for an explosion of flavor in every bite. The salmon was not dry at all, which impressed me. I think what caught my attention the most was the toast - I've never been as impressed by a perfectly toasted slice of bread. Lightly crispy, with a slight brown and rich butter flavor. Moroccan chicken eggs benedict: I was skeptical as to how the chicken flavor would work in this dish, but I was convinced after a bite. The rich sauce went extremely well with the poached egg and English muffin. The pieces of chicken were a tad dry, but helped complement the rest of the dish. The side of potatoes were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing with the Moroccan sauce too. Overall, I left the restaurant looking forward to my next trip to BC and another visit to this restaurant. The most delicious eggs Benedict ever! We ordered the Moroccan chicken Benny and the butter chicken Benny and both were incredibly delicious. They give you two hearty sized bagels with marinated chicken and hollandaise sauce on top. The butter chicken Benny comes with fried onions on top. The Blue Fox Café is a cute little spot close to downtown and a great spot for breakfast for sure! We got there around 9AM on a Wednesday and we just got it before a line started at the door. It's a small space with several tables well placed for movement, yet packed in enough to really maximize the space. It's very bright and cheery with lots of local art around. The service was friendly and unhurried, so if you are in a hurry - you will want to say something up front. Coffee was good and they keep it filled up. They also have cocktails if you want - I opted for the Caesar which was very refreshing. For breakfast the Portobello Benny was a standout on the menu right away for me. It did not disappoint. Perfect base with large meaty mushrooms, bright pesto, perfectly cooked eggs and creamy hollandaise. A delightful combo really! The potatoes were also crisp with nice soft centers. The wait to get inside this restaurant is crazy. We were standing outside in line for about 45 minutes. Thank god, we were in a group, so didn't get bored. Once we were inside, everything went on smoothly. We were seated on a table that was weird in position. Neither a round nor a square. Behind us was a display cabinet, which was totally awkward. Anyways, I had lime tea sort of beverage which was really nice. Then I had French toast, , classic ones, which came out to be pretty huge. I couldn't even finish one completely. I also ordered veggie omelette, which comes with toast and house made jam. I didn't like the omelette at all. It was very soggy and not yummy. Red had or visor for employees and what baseball cap for the manager....oh, and Rosie the Riveter  our waitress. Attitudes: will the manager and staff members were since, they were not overly friendly. The woman in the picture I took with her head band like Rosie The Riveter did not seem to like it if we pointed out a mistake in the order we had made. I also sensed sarcasm when we did inform her a majority of the meal was outstanding. The stick up her ass must have been far, but we were respectful the whole time we were there. We arrived at Blue Fox on a Saturday morning at 9:25 and stood in a 50 minute line with the locals, and ordered our food while waiting on deck. (The group next to be seated gets to sit inside in the waiting area and get their order started.) The kids shared the banana cream pancakes which reminded me of a banana fosters dessert because of the brown sugar bananas. We ordered it without the sour cream. The husband had the butter chicken omelet. He reported that it was okay. It came with homestyle potatoes which were good. (I know because I stole quite a few.) My favorite dish was the apple and sultana porridge. It came with almonds and almond milk to pour over it. I make overnight oats at home and add different toppings for each serving. I prefer Blue Fox's version to mine, though it probably helped that theirs was much sweeter. After a tourist-filled weekend in Victoria in the summer it was nice to eat with the locals. read more
