y husband and I were absolutely stunned and amazed at the incredible service and professionalism of…read morethe Churchill staff, and the quality of the food that they provided for our daughter's wedding. Those words don't mean that we were surprised - we knew it would be really good. However, our wildest expectations were exceeded time and time again throughout the night. The food was absolutely out of this world. Everyone is still talking about the hors d'oeuvres and the dinner was so delicious. Their staff could not have been more accommodating, more service oriented, or professional. From the uniforms, to the clear rain ponchos, to their genuine smiles, they presented the best possible brand for Churchill's and created the perfect atmosphere for our daughter's wedding. We were so grateful for the presence of the owner at our event; it was another sign that he wanted the event to be flawless, and two of their management staff, although guests at the wedding, were certainly watching and checking all aspects as well. Churchill's staff went significantly out of their way to take care of our family and friends in the wedding party- even making special trips to the event barn with drinks and appetizers during post-ceremony picture taking. It was as though they all knew how difficult and sad it was that the event could not proceed outside as planned (because of the weather) - and set out to create warmth, happiness, and joy to totally dispel the mood that the cold, dreary rain had created. We could not have been more impressed with how helpful their staff was as well. Given that we had to pivot to having the wedding in the barn instead of outside, their staff was right there saying "don't worry, we'll take care of resetting the barn for dancing and getting chairs back to the dining tent." I had been trying to arrange for some guests to help with all of that, and there it was - already taken care of. Churchill's took an incredible burden off all of us with their generous offers and execution of help, and it didn't stop there. The staff was a significant part of helping to "take down the dining area in the tent," and their staff was also there helping to dismantle the event and cocktail barns after the dancing stopped. We had expected to do all of that ourselves the morning after the wedding, and when we went to the barns and the tent and found them totally clean and all the rental items in the catering tent, we were floored. In addition to the "day of" support, I cannot say enough about the incredible support we got throughout this process (not having done a big event like this before with a caterer). The head chef provided an amazing menu for us to consider and an absolutely delicious tasting event, and the Event Operations Manager and Craig (the owner) were a fountain of support with answers to questions, and suggestions for us to consider. That's the kind of proactive service that makes a real difference in an event. There is no other caterer I would use at this point - they are at the top of a list of one now. Everyone who attended the wedding has remarked on how good everything from Churchill's was, and I have been talking to everyone I know this past two weeks, singing their praises. We knew the day would be special, and while the rain dampened our spirits and caused the décor and the plans to not be all we had hoped, the Churchill team totally made this wedding something beyond our wildest dreams. They are all really special people, and we were so grateful they were part of this important day in our family and grateful for all they did to make this day so wonderful.

Having watched wedding planners crater and fall the day of, and have it on occasion affect the transportation part of it that I am involved in, we are sort of an interested party. What I watched was a woman that was smooth, and effortlessly on top of everything, even making sure that I was fed as a driver as a bonus. She was responsive, and literally didn't miss a single thing as far as I could see. I have attended a thousand weddings. I think if I were getting married, this is the one I would choose. I looked at their web site. It must have been Connie. Very graceful professional.

Their justification was that they gave us until the next year to reschedule, but that's not an option for many couples and wasn't an option for us. This was the only vendor we worked with that wouldn't refund the money. We even gave them time to refund us and a year later still wouldn't budge. I understand how in general the wedding industry won't return deposits because they lost a day where they could have had another wedding, but this was clearly not the case. I would have tried legal action but the deposit amount wasn't worth it (and I'm sure the company knew this too). They took one of the most difficult situations of our lives and made it worse. Please avoid this company.

I love the style and how well they blended the natural environment and elements of our venue into the shots. There's a great balance between the details and the documentary style shots, and candid portraits of the wedding party and guests. Leading up to the wedding, we had no problem getting our questions answered and paying through their online invoicing system. We were able to visit the office and meet our photographers ahead of time and the whole experience was wonderful. We were welcomed with warmth and cupcakes! They pay attention to the details of the whole experience. This is a top-notch company. I had two disappointments (which is the reason why I didn't give a 5-star review. It would be 4.5 if I could!). The first is that photog team did not set up any fill lights for the formal portraits. I should have asked about this ahead of time, but I thought it was standard for professional portraits. At least at every wedding I have been to, there were a few diffusers or flashes set up even if the shooters were photojournalism/documentary style wedding photographers. The faces and eye sockets are more shadowed than I would have hoped. Also, in retrospect, we weren't getting any fun alternate angles for the group portraits, like looking over our shoulders, holding out our bouquets, holding hands, or moving to have a different background such as the lake in addition to having trees as the background. Alas! The second disappointment is that despite two photogs being there for over an hour while there was live music at our reception, we didn't receive a single image of the amazing seven-piece band in action. I would definitely recommend emilie inc. - just make sure you communicate about exactly what your expectations are ahead of time. Once the wedding schedule gets rolling, it is hard to remember your photography wish list. There are more important things to focus on, like being present for your loved ones and celebration! :)

Finding the right photographer you can rely on to capture the essence and beauty of a wedding can be a stressful task for any bride. That is why I set out to select a photographer as one of my first tasks after getting engaged. I am very fortunate to know a lot of wonderful wedding photographers but felt the best connection to Emilie. I knew from the beginning that we were in good hands. Emilie even called to talk to me about my vision for the wedding on her family vacation to Disney! She works masterfully with angles and lighting to capture moments in the most creative and elegant ways possible. We loved the way she interacted with us and our guests to make us all feel comfortable and at ease throughout the ceremony and reception. Emilie captures emotion at its purest and most candid moments, so that when you look back, you can easily relive those precious memories. Emilie definitely helped make our day feel even more special, and we're so incredibly happy with our choice of selecting her as our photographer to capture one of the most important days of our lives. We supremely recommend her!

I can't even put in to words how easy he made the entire day start to finish. The photographs he captured were nothing short of amazing and he made the process so fun at the same time. His assistant Alexis was as incredible as Kevin and so helpful throughout the day. Kevin's energy and creativity is exactly what every wedding needs. He made the process so much more than just taking pictures. His ability to multi-task and deal with the wedding party, wild children, our French bulldog, elderly relatives that can't get around well and still be able to orchestrate a perfect wedding was just amazing to watch. He was down right impressive. I can't recommend Good Maine enough. It felt more like we were legitimately hanging out with two of our friends when we were doing photos between our first look and ceremony. Cheryl and Dale, the owners, have a remarkable way of making you feel like family, their attention to detail is spot on, and are extremely responsive to questions. We had been planning our wedding for just under a year during the pandemic and although this was their first wedding season, you would've never known. My bridal party and I stayed the night before at the beautifully built bridal cottage, the hair and makeup team arrived and had plenty of space and lighting to set up in the air-conditioned cottage. The catering team and bartenders that we hired had plenty of space to set up and work, with a full bar and full-size refrigerator, sink for cleaning, and dedicated area for grilling and preparing. Our DJ was set up on the main level on the dance floor ensuring our guests had adequate space for proper celebration. Every question or request we had on the wedding day was answered and met, which was great because that meant we could relax with peace of mind knowing the ceremony site and barn would be ready! The venue itself is so incredibly maintained with acres of green grass, gorgeous hills (makes for excellent photos!), newly built bathrooms, and a brand-new fire pit/patio area, which our guests loved. Laura allowed us to tell her about our dream spread for our wedding and then she priced it out based on the things we really wanted. She was wonderful about making suggestions and adjustments and could even accommodate my vegan cousin who is also gluten free and deathly allergic to nuts and soy (yes, I know). We loved how mobile Laura was and that she was able to work at our site, but keep in mind that if you want her to work in more unusual locations that she will have to rent equipment to do her fine work with her staff. The process was incredibly creative and satisfying. She hosted a beautiful tasting in our own home for five (although I think only four are included). Laura's food was absolutely divine. We had our rehearsal dinner catered by her (as a drop-off): Pulled pork, cold bbq chicken, amaaaazing potato salad, corn pudding, cookie platter (you know-- exactly the kinds of foods you want to eat the night before you squeeze into your finery). Our wedding buffet included 5 delightful passed hors d'oeuvres, an epic charcuterie and cheese spread, a family style salad and bread course, and then a buffet of grilled bistro steaks and salmon, roasted vegetables and fresh summer salads. We were in heaven! Laura outsources wedding cakes, but she did make some amazing peach and apple hand pies as an alternative to wedding cake! Her bartender made a haymakers punch (switchel-- awesomely refreshing) and raspberry leaf iced tea and they were happy to serve the alcohol that we had purchased. We were incredibly happy with the wonderful service on the day of the wedding. The team she assembled to serve on the wedding day was incredibly friendly and professional. Five stars all around! *A quick suggestion to guests working with your caterer on a larger event is to dump e-mail contents/conversation tidbits into a Google Doc that you can share with Laura. There was a lot of back and forth on the phone and e-mail that got confusing at times. Do yourself a favor and keep it all in one sacred location! *Laura only took checks for our payments which was fine for us, but we would have appreciated being able to PayPal our payments as floating thousands of dollars in checks to the many vendors (none of whom took credit cards or PayPal) was rather nerve racking at times.
