On August 08, 2025, at 7:40 PM, my sister & I visited the Petco store #01205 located at 3548 S…read more Findley Ave. This is usually my favorite Petco location when I'm in town because it tends to be the cleanest, best-stocked, and has the friendliest associates in the area. Unfortunately, that was not the case on this particular day. The store was crowded with new Halloween items, a couple of costumes, toys, & Various items strewn across bins and tables, & appeared so overstocked you almost did not feel comfortable shopping it for fear you would cause a domino effect if you knocked anything over. Creating an environment that did not give a good impression to customers or visitors with pets. Upon entering, we noticed a woman at the register who seemed unhappy to be there and was on her phone. I miss the days when employees would leave their phones in their lockers or bags at work. It would be nice to bring back customer service and to have staff engaged in their jobs while being paid by the company again. During our visit, my sister wanted a few items price-checked due to multiple sales going on, so we could ensure we had the correct products. She was also looking for bulk biscuits to make thank-you treats for our friends' dogs to go in their baskets of goodies we got them. However, we were disappointed to discover that many of the cute, new cookies were filled with artificial chemical dyes. As a certified pet nutritionist, I wouldn't purchase those for my pets or for others' pets. Fortunately, we found some cute and tasty dye-free treats in the bulk section. As I helped my sister hold the bag open while scooping, I noticed that the biscuit dust in the scoop seemed to be moving. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was crawling with ants that had emerged from the disturbed pile of dog cookie crumbs. I informed the woman at the register, whose name I didn't catch as it wasn't displayed. She responded, "Eeww, that's gross," and then specifically asked if it was the bacon ducks, suggesting that we weren't the first to report this issue. Meanwhile, a man named Josh, whom I assume was her manager, was on his phone and appeared indifferent to the situation. Neither employee seemed embarrassed that a customer had just encountered such an issue. No one came over to address the problem, offer me a fresh batch of cookies, clean up the ants, or even show any concern. It's disheartening to see great companies that want to bring customers back struggling with employees who lack basic customer service, people skills, and social skills. These are the qualities I look for in employees because they reflect what I want others to expect from me in any job I hold. Despite this unfortunate experience with two associates, I still don't want to stop shopping at Petco. I love the unique pet apparel, products, and brands they carry. However, this particular trip was disappointing. I hope they improve in the future. I did manage to buy some outdoor toys like a dog tent and a splash pad, as well as some great toys that our dogs really love. So, while the products in the store were good, the experience was marred by the incidents involving the two associates, Josh and the woman working that evening.

What a fun little place this is. Located RIGHT in downtown Boise this store has tons to offer…read more January 3rd was my little Alfred's 4th birthday! (Criesssss! They grow up so fast! Yelp! Let us use emojis!! Haha) Finding ANY place in Boise that sells birthday cakes for dogs...next to impossible. Took Alfie here on his Birthday bc they actually had some cakes and cupcakes for dogs. They're made by someone outside the store and who have a partnership with Mollys. The cakes were like $30!! And they're small! But too big for Alfred lol. Cupcakes were like $8 and perfect size for my little man. I got him one of those and he absolutely loved it. My apologies to the food truck who makes and sells these for not remembering their name. I've bought from them before at Green Acres when we had a Pound Fitness event for the humane society and they came out. They sell great products, all naturally made. Sorry. This is a review for Mollys haha. I'm just glad Mollys had something to choose from for his birthday. The store is beautiful laid out. I really love the inside. Obviously in a very old building. It's just so random to see a pet store in the middle of a downtown area...but wonderfully random. Will you pay a little more? Sure. It's downtown. It's not a big box store like Petsmart or Petco. It's privately owned and there's nothing better than supporting small businesses like this one. We walked in and place was packed. Tons of people and they all had their dogs with them. Pure heaven for me. Alfred is very shy and was a little overwhelmed lol. I was able to find everything here EXCEPT small bully sticks. They're his favorite and it seems like a lot of stores are no longer carrying them. Very sad. Northwest Pets stopped carrying them too. HOWEVER! I don't think Mollys stopped, they were just out. Hope that's the case. The man working was sooo nice and you can tell immediately he loves his job. Seriously tho...seeing beautiful doggies all day! How could anyone hate that job! They have a super clean area for you to bathe your pups too. I was very impressed with how clean it was. Another area that has all kinds of meat products for them to gnaw on...like actual cow meat/bones. I know I'm using the wrong terminology for it, but can't think of the right words haha. Alfie is too small for those but how convenient to have. My roommates dog would benefit greatly from that room. Plenty of toys, food, treats etc to choose from. Seriously, this store is an absolute gem. I'm so glad I finally discovered it. It's fun to bring my lil man downtown and now we have a place that's made just for him and his friends. Definitely check this place out. Go and support local businesses! Supporting local is great but when it comes to supporting a local PET STORE!! Hell yeah! Thanks for reading, YelperDoggos! Cheers!

Before we entrusted The Dog House with our dogs, we first came and checked the place out. They have 4 main indoor dog areas. One for large breed dogs, one for medium, one for puppies, and one for senior dogs (they may also have an area for small breeds? I know they take dogs of all sizes). They have separate stall kennels for night time as well as crates if your dog is a jumper (ie: would jump over the stall wall). They also have a grassy outdoor area for the dogs to run around outside (with real grass, not fake turf that can be found other places). The indoor areas are mostly cement floor and cinder block walls with a wooden gate for going in and out. The senior dog area is the exception. Catering to older dogs who would rather be comfortable and sleep, more than play, they have dog beds and soft, comfy couches for them to lounge on. They arranged for us to bring the dogs for a half a day, so they could test them in the sleeping areas (decide if the stall or crate would be better), and see which area would be best for them during daytime social hours. They don't charge for this and I love that they place dogs individually, based on personality and temperament, not merely size. For example, Scout (our Irish Setter), is large. She is by all accounts a large breed dog. However, her temperament is super mild and she does't really have an alpha bone in her body (I've seen her go belly up submissive for small poodles). They opted to put her in with the medium dogs, which was awesome as it kept her with Boomer, who is her very best friend, and allowed her to play with dogs who are a little more her style when it comes to romping. The dogs play as much as they're up for all day indoors and every hour or so outside. Their prices are reasonable (given the level of care) and the dogs are always supervised during play. At night, they only have to go 6 or so hours before someone is there to let them out in the morning (mine go longer at home!). We decided to have them stay. They cared for them for 4 nights and we couldn't be happier. Our dogs came home happy, healthy, and exhausted from all the play. I will definitely use them any other time we are needing overnight care. I also will likely partake in their daytime daycare on occasions when I know, due to our schedules, that our dogs won't get much exercise/play time. Get to it!
