Our trip to Egypt was wonderful! We booked a tour in Cairo with Blue Danube and they took great care of my husband and I. A representative greeted us at the arrival gate at the airport in Cairo and assisted us with Visa and customs! Took us to our private car and driver who than took us to our hotel! My husband and I had a private car with a private guide for just the two of us the entire time in Cairo! We also booked a cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Blue Danube and again we had a private guide with us the entire cruise! The communication was great and the process for booking was easy! I have recommended Blue Danube to several friends since our great experience! Will definitely use Blue Danube again for future trips! read more

The summer before last, my husband and I did a Vienna/Salzburg music oriented trip (they booked us tickets for musical performances in Vienna and at the Salzburg summer music festival) with this company that was absolutely fantastic. We had a wonderful time, the hotel accommodations they got for us were wonderful. All of our tickets/seat assignments and hotel accommodations were incredibly affordable and turned out to be nicer and more luxurious than we would usually buy for ourselves. All of the additional tickets and tours we wanted to do (and several special requests) were handled perfectly. It was very easy and made us both incredibly happy. We especially loved that we were able to feel really independent on our trip and not boxed in or pre-programmed at every second. We got to be on our own and packages with our tickets and tour schedules were conveniently waiting for us at our hotels. There were people around locally if we needed help (we didn't). Do not use this travel agency. They do not stand by the representations in their travel advertisements. We booked a tour advertised as -"Highlights of the South from Berlin Escorted Germany Tour starting from Berlin". Instead, they put us onto a tour that began in Frankfurt and happened to stop in Berlin on its way back to Frankfurt. The tour guide did not even bother to contact us and we wasted an entire half day of our vacation sitting in our room waiting for the tour guide. There were only four people on that northern Germany tour. The guide was so horrible that their travel agency accommodated them by giving a partial refund. The advertisement of Blue Danube also represented that we would travel in "reserved high-speed train and travel from Berlin to Frankfurt" but they did not live up to this. They transported us on an eight-hour trip across Germany in a VAN sitting 3 people to a row on bench seats (the guide would not even stop for restroom breaks despite our requests to stop) with not enough room for luggage. He also drove at very reckless speeds (at times exceeding 160 km/hour). Despite the problems we encountered, Blue Danube would not advocate for us during the trip at all. Since taking this complaint directly to Blue Danube, they are trying to argue that a small Van ride which takes eight hours on a bench seat (as opposed to a 4-hour high speed train) is an adequate substitution. DO NOT USE this company. They do not stand by their representations, do not advocate for you if you run into a problem while out of country, and will not try to work with you. read more
