    Unworn clothes from blue dahlia
    April H.

Stumbled upon this place in Bishop Arts and decided to patronize, I love supporting small businesses and I spent close to $200 for jeans and pants I thought would fit, I hate trying on clothes so I went based on the European jean sizes... made it home and boy was I wrong. the jeans wouldn't get past the thighs and the pants looked like an awkward gaucho. No worries I thought I'll just exchange them for something that fits. well in the hustle and bustle of a week I managed to lose my receipt, but the clothes are still tagged and unworn..store credit will do. I walk into the store and the clerk blatantly looks me up and down and tells me, are these even from our store, they look like mens jeans, when did you get these, they look worn, where is the receipt, okay lady you are being rude and I not dare say the other r word. I have my chase account pulled up showing the payment processed and cleared, just check your system ( I can't we don't track that/ my response so you guys don't pay taxes ) long story short I was told that the owner said I can't return without a receipt and that just seems awkward and weird to me.. I know I am not the normal clientele however I'm a client and I know when I'm being treated differently based on my color, temperament and someone else's bias ways. I don't usually write reviews and I'm sorry about the book by my story should be told. You shop with whomever you please but at least make sure they appreciate your support.

Damaged frame after being sent to owner improperly packed by Blue Dahlia/FedEx
    Elise W.

I bought a painting from them valued over $350 and because I live out of town they offered to ship it for me, and they mentioned they had done this in the past. When the shop worker, Amy, called me from FedEx I assumed she would do everything she could to secure the painting, but alas when it arrived it was damaged. It wasn't even bubble wrapped it was simple put in a box where it could move around and be jostled, the box was not marked fragile, either. The sad thing is that there's no investment on their end at this point that I've paid, it just sucks that they didn't even seem to care when I told them. If this is a company experienced in sending art then one would expect it to be secured that way. SUMMARY: DON'T EXPECT CARE OF YOUR VALUES BEING SHIPPED!

Simply adorable clothing and accessories with a vintage vibe. Everything was fun to look at, and the people who work here are so nice.

I got there right as the owner was locking up for the Thanksgiving holiday. Without batting an eye, she opened the store again, made sure the music was playing, and insisted that I not rush. I immediately found a gorgeous scarf and a necklace for my friend, and I couldn't resist getting a great black sweater for myself. I thanked her profusely, and walked home to show off my purchases to my bf. Duly impressed, he reminded me that it was time for me to go back to work. Oh no. I couldn't find my keys anywhere. We tore up the house for a while, and found spare keys dating back to 2011. Just not MY keys. They have to be at the store. Finally, I had the presence of mind to look for a phone number (only after I'd already run back down the street to see if she was still there -- all locked up.). She answered, and said she hadn't noticed them. Upon hearing the panic in my voice, she offered to come back downtown and look. She had already driven away! It's her thanksgiving break! I felt terrible, but I needed those keys. Fear not, my keys and I were reunited. She was unbelievably gracious about my mistake, even apologizing for not having looked around before closing. A review for a boutique should emphasize the product. Ohmygoodness these clothes are perfect. And the jewelry. And the hats. Clearly, I HAD to make a special trip just to buy a present here. Also, though, let's all support the heck out of a just plain good person who happens to have a VERY fashionable boutique in the affordable clothes- hungry world of downtown Dallas.

I was never impressed with the quality of their clothing, but it was a good convenient place to stop by when I was in a bind for something cute and trendy to wear, and their accessory assortment is decent. My last visit was terrible disappointment. I was in a hurry to find a dress to wear that evening for dinner and drinks at the Ritz. I was in a hurry and quickly bought a dress with sequence. When I got home and truly inspected the dress, I noticed that it was missing some sequence pieces, and it just looked plain cheap and tacky. There is no way I was going to wear that to the ritz. What an embarrassment!! I refuse to wear the dress. It was a final sale, so they would not exchange it or work with me store credit. I left this unwearable dress and they kept my $50. Poor, very poor customer service for someone who wants to shop and support local business. It is a shame that they were unwilling to work with me in spite of their poor quality product. As a resident, I always suggest their place as a go to for clothing. I will no longer. They were not willing to work with a loyal customer, so I will take my business and recommendations elsewhere.

There are French pictures to buy for your walls. There is a whole section of the store devoted to specialty clothing. Some of the items were just beautiful. I fell in love with a small travel cosmetics size case, but it was $60 and I didn't buy it. So, prices are on the higher side. But you have to remember everything is imported and you are paying a premium for these goods. I thought some of the food products were on the more reasonable price range. It was definitely a store filled with eye candy. Service was great and they were so helpful and attentive to your needs. My son bought a few items and he was very happy with them. I would definitely come back and take a look around. They have beautiful products. Aurevoir!

The neighborhood was nicknamed "The Devil's Back Porch" back in the 1920s. I hope that was not a reference to his butt. 2. This was one of the busiest streetcar stops in all of Dallas in the 1930s, which is the reason the shops are close together. 3. The restaurant Paradiso is L shaped because it was built around century-old trees. 4. Bonnie (of Bonnie and Clyde) worked as a waitress in this area before her crime spree began. Rumor has it she needed money to afford the $8 slices of pie at Emporium Pies. Only three things sucked: 1) Parking is difficult on weekends. 2) Cops are everywhere, so don't jaywalk. 3) The people with clipboards asking you to donate to blue whale abortions or whatever are aggressive.

There was live music, food trucks and plenty of vendors. They had a couple of older model cars on display which was cool. When we entered the bazaar there was a lady there to welcome us to the event which was nice. I enjoyed a refreshing drink at a food truck and got street style tacos from another vendor. The live music was upbeat and complimented the event. We were able to walk around and explore a majority of the vendors. I ended up buying a couple of things from the vendor. The bishop arts bazaar occurs in the fall once a month on Sunday. Attending the bazaar was a lovely way to spend the Sunday afternoon.
