Introverts- the coffee house for you! I had a house coffee and ham/cheese croissant. The barista asked if I wanted room on top for half n half. I did. She produced chilled half n half for that. It is nice to see some that's. It just sitting out all day. As far as the vibes that some complain about- listen, some of us prefer to skip the loud chatter and incessant noise. If you're like me on that, this is a great place! The interior is very calming with some chill instrumental music for light background. The barista seems very capable of handling all the business. She's efficient, and doesn't require my life story for a cuppa joe. Next time I'll try some of the espresso drinks and baklava. I'll definitely be back. Introverts unite! Separately. I took my 16 year old niece here as a special treat. She ordered a drink and a pastry. I'm assuming it was the owner, asked her a question that neither of us heard. My niece politely asked, "what was that?" The woman in a very rude harsh tone, repeated her self. "Do you want your pastry heated up!" My niece and I looked at each-other wide eyed. We sat and ate our subpar pastry at a table that rocked back and forth. Never again will I go here. It's too bad the place is really cute and quiet. I was meeting a friend and arrived a little early. When I walked in a chatty man was conversing with the barista while she made his drink. The barista was not engaging much, so I thought, "Geez maybe this guy can't take a hint". No. She just wasn't in to chatting. When I go to a local coffee shop for the first time I like to order their special, or house made syrup, or whatever it was that made them say, "Yes! I am going to open a coffee shop and serve the best darn [insert whatever here] anyone has ever had". There were no specials or highlighted drinks so I asked the barista what she likes to drink. "What I like? How is that going to help you?" Is this an uncommon question to ask baristas? I didn't think so, but it turns out that her favorite drink is also my favorite drink so I ordered *our* favorite drink which is an oat milk latte with no flavoring. Since it is the barista's favorite drink she made it very well. When cruising the pictures online I saw a pastry case and was excited to try a pastry, but upon inspection it was a sad display of Costco products, individually wrapped in plastic wrap. I plucked a biscotti out of the bucket it was purchased in. When my friend arrived and ordered her drink, she received even less interaction than I did. I can't remember the food item she ordered but I remember it being a microwaved frozen item from Costco. We sat for a long time and talked and laughed and we weren't bothered. There is a sign on the cold case that says you can reserve their large open seating area for groups and I think this would be a nice place for a book club to meet if you wanted decent coffee and Costco pastries and just generally to be undisturbed. The place is adorable, I'll give it that. Great big windows and high ceilings. Very clean. Not busy. Writing this review was just as much a 3 star experience as visiting this coffee shop. read more

My favorite place to go. Wonderful coffee, quiet, calm ambiance, and a great place to relax and chat.

I loved my banana and whipped cream crêpes. Very nice little café to visit friendly and welcoming.

This is a very nice coffee shop with one BIG PROBLEM-the woman who runs it (seemingly all by herself-we were there for an hour and never saw another employee) I can't tell you how unpleasant her vibes are-she never smiles and acts like we are bothering her JUST by ordering coffee and sitting there. (My favorite moment with this charmer is when she started mopping the floors ALL around us to make clear we needed to leave, pronto-unbelievable) This shop REALLY needs a NEW EMPLOYEE who is friendlier and/or makes you feel welcome (vs. the gal there now who gives the vibe that she can't WAIT for you to leave) read more

Diamond in the ruff is how I would describe Blue Castle Coffee shop. The Menu is affordable with a wide range of Espressos, colorful smoothies, assorted pastries, and fruity drinks that tickle the taste buds. The relaxing music and comforting floral ambience decorating the interior compliments the surrounding brick buildings. The service was on par with any other coffee shop I've been to. My only complaint is that it was a ghost town. Battleground village has so much potential it reminds me of Radiator Springs and we should put it on the map! read more

My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a cup of coffee and seasonal pastry today. We came to the Blue Castle Coffee café for the first time to explore the options. The lady at the counter was super rude and it seemed that she had some kind of a bad day. I tried to reach to her with a smile and a joke, she just snapped back. Very mean and ignorant. I usually don't give bad reviews and would leave this issue alone, however my friend was visiting me from another country and I wanted to show her the best of Battle Ground Village (as I had only great experiences with other businesses there: the restaurants and library are amazing). So my attempt turned out to be a disaster. I would not recommend to anyone to come there, and especially if you have a good day, save your time save your money. read more

Oh my gosh, this coffee is good...!! Wow!!! The flavor will knock your socks off! So perfect and flavorful! I had the white chocolate mocha frap, and it was beyond amazing! I also tried the lemon bar... And let me tell you, I've been disappointed with many lemon bars before... I'm just very picky about the flavor of the lemon and the crust on the bottom. Most crusts are very gooey and the flavor lacks the citrus that I so love... Not this one! Perfectly lemony, and soft and buttery crust! I'm amazed... I might just come back for the lemon bars! It was amazing! Give it a try! The lady behind the counter was very, very sweet. She even topped off my coffee all the way to the brim, and used a whipped cream lid to fit more! Excellent customer service, and very homey atmosphere. This is a great place to study and read. Very quiet, like the library :) I will definitely be coming back! They have an amazing assortment of European treats and desserts that they make in house! She told me they make 80% of their treats in the actual coffee shop! Wow! Amazing... It is not that the coffee is bad, or the coffee shop not quaint, it is how the owner talks to his young employees. This happened a week or two ago and it is something I can't forget. He talked down and yelled at them kinda gave the" gesture are you stupid.". They just stared at him with a very confused look at him.. It was very awkward for both girls. The coffee was pretty good but the owner was a full-on jerk to the young gal who seemed to be helpful and hardworking. I asked him if he was the owner because I was going to complain about him. I felt too awkward waiting for my coffee while he snapped at the girl about what to do with sanitizer buckets. I won't be back. read more

This place has good coffee. Watch out for when the guy with dark hair makes it though, it will have no flavor. My favorite local coffee shop. They always have excellent, fresh cookies and pastries. My favorite drink is their "Mint Leaf Mocha" but I've tried nearly every other drink on the menu, and some that are not. They are all excellent. The service is always friendly, and the interior is uncluttered and tastefully decorated. There's always great music playing, and magazines and a paper to read. read more
