We made the one hour trip to Miller's for lunch (we're retired). Friends we often go out with had…read moreread about Miller's and wanted to give them a try. Featured in the article was Miller's tenderloins. I say tenderloins plural, because they have 2 sizes. What they call a regular and a large tenderloin. Our friend ordered the large tenderloin $14.99. It comes a la carte BUT, the Tenderloin was huge. Now I bet some of you are thinking it couldn't be that big! Well I ordered the regular Tenderloin ($10.99) and it was enough for two people. The large was easily 3 times, if not more, than the size of mine. Our friend guessed the weight of the large one at 3 pounds or more. Additinally, the tenderloins are not paper thin. They are quite thick and meaty. Both wives got the whitefish sandwiches. We all had one common complaint. The batter on both the Tenderloin and fish were tasty, but too salty for our liking. I should mention we ordered fried green tomatoes and fried mushrooms for appetizers. We all really enjoyed both. Eventhough this establishment is a Tavern, they only have like four draft beer taps. However, they offer a nice list of bottles and cans, with some craft beers. They have an open flame grill for burgers and steaks which makes for a pretty good aroma inside if your a carnivore. Next trip I'm getting a Burger! Service was friendly and accommodating.

When you pull up it's not a fancy place, but these places are the best to get a really good meal,…read moreand they delivered! I had the beef manhattan with fried okra and mashed potatoes. Unlike other places the beef actually tasted like it had been seasoned and slow cooked in a crockpot! There was something special about the potatoes also, maybe some garlic, but it was delicious! The okra was fresh cooked, not dipped out of a container of premade. The service was also really good. They took my order very quickly and the food was brought out hot and she checked up on me regularly. The restaurant "feels" like a local hotspot! Plenty of folks there, obviously a morning tradition, and it had a feel of being home or at your grandmas! I would absolutely recommend this place if you're in the area!

My wife and I were in town for a soccer match (winners!) and needed a late lunch. Our normal go-to…read morespot in Seymour, Larrison's Diner, was closed because it was after 2:00 in the afternoon so we needed something new. Our first choice was a little fish sandwich shop that looked a bit different, but after they turned out to be closed that day we went across the street to San Marcos. And holy heck am I glad we did! It looks like a typical Mexican place inside - bright colors, decor from the same restaurant supply store every Mexican restaurant seems to use, but with the addition of what I would consider the 'nightclub section' with a dance floor, multiple lighting effects and a big video board. It was early afternoon, so obviously that area wasn't in use but I bet it's an interesting place after dark! Service was great - quick to the table, easy refills on everything. My wife ordered the Chimichanga and I went against my norms and did the 'create your own' platter and chose three items: Burrito, Chimi, and another Chimi. This was strategic because USUALLY when you see a 'create your own' that means tiny sized items - half a burrito, half a chimi, etc. - figured I wanted more chimi than burrito. Seems they don't do that here. My platter was HUGE. Full-sized beef burrito, delish. TWO full-sized beef chimichangas. Also delish. Plus beans and rice. I even did something I never do: Asked for a box to take an entire chimichanga home with us. Wife loved hers as well. This is a must-repeat. In fact, Larrison's may be the past and this place is my future the next time I'm in Seymour. Which is likely never, but if we are anywhere nearby, we'd make a side trip to eat here again.

My wife ordered the Carnitas Street Tacos served with rice and refried beans. The carnitas were perfectly grilled. The taco shells were also so fresh. Our server was very attentive and friendly throughout our meal.
