I had chips and salsa, a staple on American tables at Mexican restaurants and I got English-Aussie chips (French fries). Tomatio "salsa" was OK. They had fresh jalapeños. The al pastor tacos were full, more meat than I think I have ever seen, but bland. Blindfolded I would have a difficult time figuring out what I was eating beyond meat.

Before we even order water and corn chips with a spicy dip is brought to the table. We are celebrating a belated birthday with a gift voucher. As this is a new restaurant there is a promotional period and we are fortunate to tap into it. Nevertheless the waitress and the owner are happy to treat us to their best. This is not just the food but the service and the little touches that encourage people to come back. The starters is quite large, share between two or even more. The main meals are huge and we had to ask for a doggy bag as they were so good and we couldn't just leave them. We had coffee at the end of the meal...ok it was lunchtime...a glass of wine or a Mexican beer would have been nice...but we were driving and the weather was terrible. Let's be safe this time! There will be another time..especially as this little gem is open of a night. Well, out came our coffees and so did two chocolate churros! Wow! Complimentary. So yummy!!! It's been hit and miss on some flavours, however, the plus side being that they do make a meaaaaaaaaan guacamole. And I mean mean. It's to die for. As in you should go have some. Would I go back? Absolutely - just need to keep remembering that the burrito is not worth it. But you'll probably find that everything else on the menu is.

As soon as you walk into pancakes you are met by cooling air conditioner and heaps of booth seats. (I love booth seats). Once you get seated you can order drinks, ice tea is only $2.75 per glass! And then you can order you food. Let's just say the portions of food is huge, and the quality is quite good. We had a rack of pork ribs for under $30 and it was a huge serving. Also had nachos for about $15 and creeps for around $20 And once your full and think you can't eat anymore you need to order some pancakes, because you've come to pancakes on the rocks you can't leave with out trying them at least.
