She explained that she works for tips and not a regular wage, which made us feel as though we were being held responsible for how her compensation is structured. We understand that tips are an important part of the income for many people in the service industry. However, if a bar has a mandatory gratuity policy, it should be clearly disclosed to customers on the menu, receipt, or before service is provided. Customers should not be made to feel embarrassed or confronted about a policy that was never communicated. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was when the server Virginia went to the bingo host, Alyssa, to discuss the matter. Having the situation brought to another person's attention made us feel singled out and embarrassed. The server Virginia also told us that the manager had said she could decide whether or not to serve us. We do not know if that is truly the bar policy, but the way this situation was handled felt unfair and unprofessional. I can't help but feel that this whole issue came up because our order was only a hot dog and a Coca-Cola. Regardless of the amount spent, every customer deserves to be treated with the same respect and professionalism. We left without ordering anything. Unfortunately, after this experience, we have decided not to return. We hope management takes this feedback seriously and reviews how situations like this are handled in the future.

The salads were overdressed and the salmon overcooked. For us, it was three times there - first, last and only.
