She used enough pressure to be just the right amount of uncomfortable but oh so good and really worked out the tightness and knots in my neck and shoulders where I carry my tension and stress. For all my Middletown, Cromwell, Durham peeps and anyone in CT really, if you are looking for an absolutely AMAZING massage therapist, I HIGHLY recommend Susan and S.T.I.L.L. In Time!! STILL= Serenity & Tranquility Instill Love of Life!! Can't wait for my birthday massage!!

Not only will you soon be in the presence of the most lovely and gifted healer, you'd also be in her beautifully decorated, impeccability clean, lavender-and-orange-blossom-scented home in a beautifully country neighborhood. Expansive green lawns? Check. Flowing river nearby? Check. A John Deere tractor in view? Check. A horse RIGHT NEXT DOOR in the neighbor's yard? CHECK! Susan will greet you warmly by the door and bring you into the sitting room. She'll ask about the purpose of your visit, the kind of pressure you like, and if there are any problem areas you'd like to work on, etc.. You will then go to the candle-lit restroom and change into the soft robe and slippers that Susan kindly provides. Then, all that's left to do is to go to the massage room at your leisure to relax and get ready for one of the best massages of your life! Susan is the utmost professional and clearly LOVES her job. She is extremely knowledgeable about the body and you will feel her talent in every session. She has recently opened up her beautiful back deck for outdoor massages AND she has a convenient online booking system! So, the advice of the day is this: book the next spot available and GO! Your back is tight? Go to Susan! Your mind is scattered? Go to Susan! You're joyous, happy, healthy, and free? Go to Susan!

Groupon tricked me…read more This place was very sketchy. I booked with Jen my 90 minute massage two or three weeks ago. When I came in for my scheduled massage, there was no receptionist at the Sykes Family Chiropractic, where she worked from. So I gently knocked on one of the doors. Shortly after, she came out of the room while her client was in there (dear client, I'm sorry I interrupted). She reviewed her schedule and found out that she "forgot" to pencil me in. She blamed a technical glitch on her phone, but I was convinced that it was a professional glitch on her end. Then she told that she normally locks the front door while working on a client. When I told her that she told me it was at Frank's Chiropractic, she immediately snapped at me and told that she has been at Sykes for four years and she would of course know the name of the Chiropractor. Her appearance was very sloppy, especially as massage therapist who works on peoples' bodies. She looked like she was overdue for a shower; which was very disturbing and made me very alarmed. There was no way that someone with obvious hygiene issues was going to touch my skin. As a result, I refused to reschedule. Another Yelp reviewer made a similar comment relating to her hygiene. Not only am I wary about the massage therapist, I'm also wary about Sykes Family Chiropractic. Right now, I'm fighting with Groupon to get a credit on my account.

I received a groupon gift for this; unfortunately I drove 40 minutes to be insulted, yelled at, and…read morenot get a massage. I admit I had reservations after reading other reviews, and when I went to the website it was expired. However, I had no problem making the appointment, and showed showed up a few minutes early, optimistic. My appointment time came and went, and no one came out to get me, and immediately the reviews about her being late, not showing up, and double booking started running through my head, of course. I could hear voices behind a door down the hall, but I felt funny venturing into the office. A few minutes after my scheduled time, I called her number, but it went to voicemail. Not knowing what else to do, I went and knocked gently at the door - honestly, I thought a staff meeting was going on in there, there was talking going on, not the normal quiet and new age music of a massage. Someone called out "just a minute". 10 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start, I still had seen no one, I tried to call again; again, right to voice mail. Finally she came out. Instead of apologizing for running late, she said I was rude to knock on the door, how would I like it if someone did that to me. I said I was sorry, I didn't realize, I didn't know what was going on. I have had many massages, they run like clockwork; I have never had one not start on time. Honestly, would it have been difficult to send me a text or leave a note saying she was running late? She lectured me that most masseurs run as solo operations. Is that an excuse? I mean, SHE is late and I'm the one getting lectured? 30 seconds of her time to send me a text and leave a note on the door would have solved all the problems here!! Needless to say, she made me very uncomfortable. There was no way I was getting naked and and letting this woman touch me after she called me rude and was clearly angry with me. When I said I thought I should leave she said fine - I felt like she had already been paid by Groupon, so me leaving would definitely work best for her. I left there with the opposite of a massage - stressed and upset. After a lengthy exchange with Groupon, I got them to refund the money to the person who gifted it to me - so now I had to tell them what happened, which I would rather not have done (I didn't want them to know how much grief their gift had given me). All in all a rotten experience, and a waste of hours of my time between driving there and back, waiting, and emailing with Groupon.

However, when I contacted the merchant, and referenced the new client one hour massage on his website for $40, he told me I'd owe an additional $20. That makes a massage $65, not $40. His response was "Yes, but I do not even get 1/2 of what the groupon is sold for. The $20 brings the total that I get paid up to the new client special." That's so SHADY. This therapist is the one who chose to go through Groupon. I did not force him to advertise on Groupon. He knew what he would make on each Groupon, and still go ahead with selling the Groupons. You make a choice, you need to live with it, not penalize your potential clients. So now, I will never be a client. And I will tell all of my friends not to be clients. Because no one wants to get ripped off by a greedy person who was happy to use Groupon to get advertising for his business, but not actually happy to follow their rules. Certainly, I don't think I should have to pay $25 extra for my massage over the advertised new client price, simply because the therapist now regrets his advertising choices. So, I contacted Groupon and they gave me my money back. So I've been made whole (thanks only to Groupon), but wanted to be sure to warn all potential customers about this therapist's suspect business practices. If you've already purchased a Groupon, don't even attempt to use it, just contact Groupon to get your money back!!
