Sellwood Flower - Florals they added to our cake

Their service is good and they will do their best to make things right. One time there was a mix-up, my original bouquet was delivered to another customer, and I received that customer's bouquet. I came home late and called the next day to let Sellwood Flowers know. Then they sent a new bouquet the next day that was representative of the flowers purchased. It was nice that I also got to keep the original - although not my color / taste.

We got all locally sourced and seasonal flowers for our September wedding. They were so communicative and easy to work with. Day before the wedding there was an issue with the cake bakery changing the plans for the cake flowers. Mary who was working at the shop offered to drop off the flowers to the bakery on our behalf which was great! Then with more back and forth Kailla and I chatted and she just offered to do it onsite at our venue so the flowers would stay fresh. She went above and beyond as this change by the bakery the day before the wedding was stressful. We will continue to use Sellwood for our floral needs. I mean look how gorgeous My bridal bouquet is! In fact I told my husband that on our anniversary I want another bouquet from Sellwood.

    Birds & Bees Nursery

What a great little but mighty plant nursery in S.E. Portland Oregon…read more I used to live in this neighborhood and it has many hidden gems. Birds and Bees Nursery is one of them. I'm a member of Carnivorous Plants Society of Oregon and one of my things is finding places that sell Carnivorous Plants outside of the big box stores. Sure the big Home store has plenty of Venus Flytraps every year but it's a cruel thing to see a plant abused by employees who don't know how to care for such a plant. First of all this plant has 2. basic needs. 1. All the direct sunlight it can get. At least 12 hours a day. 2. Distilled Water or Rain water. To see this plant living inside the store on a shelf dries out is a difficult thing to see. If it is watered, Tap Water us what it's given. Tap water is a for sure slow death to a Venus Flytrap Plant. So in my search, I found a little nursery in the burbs. Next to a Taco Smell restaurant, full of all sorts of plants from vines to carnivorous plants. In my interest, they had Sundews, Picture Plants and a ton of Venus Flytraps all sitting in the full sun. I found what I thought was a good specimen and when I picked up and looked at the Venus Flytrap I wanted, I realized it was actually 3 small and one slightly larger Venus Flytrap plants in the same pot for (I'm pretty sure in right. I was so excited to find such an awesome plant that I kinda forgot and the receipt wasn't helpful.) $15.00. They're usually about $10.00 for a common Venus Flytrap plant. I basically bought 4 plants for $3.75 a piece. With such great prices, my wife found a couple plants she couldn't leave without. We both left Birds and Bees happy. Update on our plants. They're all thriving in their new home.

I'm sure it's nice inside, but I wouldn't know, as there is no access for wheelchair usersread more

In my defense, theynshare the space with Little Rituals and their sign on the same door has two wine glasses! Whatever brought me in, I'm grateful. This store is fabulous. As a person who already has too many plants, this is it's also dangerous. You fellow plant lovers know what I mean, we always think we can find a spot for another! But it's not just about floor or shelf space, it's about proper lighting. They have all sorts of plants like monstera, fiddle leaf fig and palms. Snake plants, pathos, cactus and succulents. Yep, I'm in trouble! In addition to the plants, they have everything for their care and to display them like metal hanging plant holders, macrame plant holders, and pots in a variety of styles and sizes. Also lots of lotions, bath salts and oils. Such a cute shop and worth stopping in.

I was looking for some a unique gift for my daughters 24th birthday and thought this was the perfect shop to find something unique. I bought my daughter this an affirmation card deck. After she gets settled in her new place, I will bring her here to pick out a plant. And while I was there and I chatted with Vanessa and Cassie and loved hearing about their story I have how this brick and mortar shop came to be. Oliver was there too and we had a nice conversation about his dog Hankey. :) They currently co-share a brick + mortar shop with Little Rituals. There you can find our plants, propagation stations, planters/vases, soil, tools, potting tarps and so much more. Daphne's Botanicals was the only one to get back to me at all, and it was a prompt reply AND they followed up via email. They do offer a reporting service! For only five dollars! And they give you 10% off any pots you buy in the store, if you don't want to bring your own. This is a lifesaver for me, as I've learned to keep plants alive but historically repotting has not gone so well. I took in an incredibly long pothos that I got for free. The team at Daphne's Botanicals shared my excitement about the plant, welcomed me into the store, and quickly started on the repotting. I didn't have a pot but they gave a recommendation and I love how it turned out. While there, I browsed their product shelves and plants. It's a pretty small store, but their plants look happy and they've got some really cute planters and what they say is a really excellent plant food. They're also attached to a bakery so you can grab a little bite as well. Highly recommend this woman owned spot!
