Walden brings back the trust and confidence you need in a "neighborhood mechanic". I have used at least six auto repair service garages in B'ton/Normal in 30 years, and haven't been to another one since I've been to Walden (Never take a car to dealer service department unless you have a warranty). My family has been using Davis Tire & Auto for the last 10+ years. They've worked on our Honda Odyssey, Civic, Accord, Ford F-150, and Buick. The results are almost always great (one time they forgot to rotate the tires and we were charged, but they promptly rectified the situation when notified). Just one mistake on one car over 10 years isn't half bad, and I believe it was an honest mistake and oversight. They are reasonably quick and don't try to up-sell us things we don't need, but will let us know if they think something needs fixin' in the near future, or is optional to fix but not immediately necessary. It's true they are more pricey than some other auto repair chains in town, but not ridiculously so. They are well worth the extra $ in my opinion, as they consistently provide us with truly high quality service. I feel comfortable sending my grandmother there, and can trust that she won't be taken advantage of. I would readily recommend them to anyone looking for quality service, and looking to avoid the sales pressures and shady business practices rampant in the auto repair industry.
