And I walked out of the class with so much knowledge and confidence, and my husband and I were able to achieve the fully natural birth we had hoped for! She was the perfect teacher and I would recommend this to ANYONE AND EVERYONE!

I walked, I saw a chiropractor twice a week, I did acupuncture, I did spinning babies daily, and everything else Liza recommended. I ended up getting induced and being in labor for 3 days which led to a c section. Trust me I did everything to avoid a c section. When Liza called to ask how it went and I told her, she scolded me for not doing more. That was so upsetting after such a traumatic experience. Also in 8 weeks of 4 hour classes, we never once touched on inductions and all the choices that come with that. I felt completely lost without the help of my doula (who only would come once you are dilated 8 cms), and without the guidance of the birth class. I spent so much time preparing for natural childbirth, that the medical induction and emergency c section that resulted left me feeling lost and unprepared. I wish someone had offered me some guidance for that scenario, and not guilt as though it was my fault for having it happen that way. I recommend her class if you know you will have a natural childbirth (which no one knows- the only thing predictable about birth is how unpredictable it is.)

I was dealing with blood blisters, a poor latch, doubts and fears about supply, and a baby that was temporarily not gaining enough weight. As a first-time mom, it was extremely stressful, and there were many tears. However, Juliana's visits always left me feeling more informed, reassured, and capable. We also did a weighted feed during every visit, which confirmed that my baby was indeed getting enough to eat. I still remember the relief I felt when I learned that. Juliana is a big reason why I decided to stay the course with breastfeeding. (Thank goodness, because now I LOVE it.) My insurance covered the cost of the visits, so I just paid the $60 travel fee. I also attended her breastfeeding class with my husband before giving birth. This was super helpful, but I recommend taking the class within 1 month of your due date. We took it a bit too early in my pregnancy, and forgot a couple things by the time I gave birth. Overall, I would highly recommend booking a lactation consultation with Juliana if you're in need of support!

After many weeks of troubleshooting and anxiety, we finally saw Rochelle who correctly identified the issue immediately, referred us to other fantastic providers, and provided incredible, kind support throughout the process. I went from mostly pumping for 3 months to exclusive breastfeeding. My daughter is 5 months old and BF now feels easy, my baby is healthy, and all is well. I owe this happy ending to Rochelle and only wish I'd booked an appointment with her earlier!

The result was an almost debilitating pain in my low back and sciatic nerve that demanded I take it easy and rest. Unfortunately, that's not really an option or preference for my lifestyle so I sought out professional help. Dr. Binder was the first chiropractor I had ever visited and, quite honestly, I was kinda stressed out about the whole crack it and pop it thing. I knew just a massage wasn't going to fix my injury that was a compilation of many other small injuries. Despite the vast size, the space feels immediately inviting when you walk through the doors. Dr. Binder was there to greet me right away and I was impressed with our one-on-one consultation & the comprehensive tests she used to assess what was actually going on with my back. She took the time to answer my questions while interpreting the results of my tests, calmed some fears and explained to me how the body responds to stresses, injuries & how receiving chiropractor care can help with so many ailments across the board. We moved over to the table and she told me exactly what she was going to do, what sensation I might feel & asked how I responded to each adjustment. She was thorough, strong & effective with her hands-on adjusts, yet gentle enough being it was my first time in her care. More than anything though, I could tell she was really trying to help me. She followed my adjustments up with a massage to the area, answered more of my questions for care until our next visit and I was on my way. We scheduled another appointment in a few days and within a week I felt back to normal. So it turns out taking it easy and resting is a requirement when dealing with injuries. There is no doubt in my mind though, that Dr. Binder helped accelerate my healing process, and for that, I am so grateful.

Updating my review as I just returned for my second retreat with Mel, this time with a friend, and…read moreI'm happy to report it was everything I remembered and more. I'm so glad I went back to continue building on the foundation laid the first time. As a new mom navigating some professional uncertainty, this season of life is presenting very different challenges than the season I was in on my last retreat, and yet, I realized that my thought patterns had reverted to the same trap - a feeling that outside accomplishments dictate my inner value. It's been an incredible shift to feel that intrinsic value back in my body and my heart. Getting to experience the retreat with a close friend was an added benefit, and Mel did a great job tailoring the experience to be transformative for both of us. October 16 2024: This retreat was one of the best things I've done for myself. I was burned out and on a hamster wheel of work, worry, stress repeat. Out of sheer desperation I went online and booked an experience with Mel, knowing little about what was in store for me. Through her pre-session meetings, I got a better sense, but you never really know until you get there. From the moment I set foot on the property, I felt serene and taken care of. Mel is incredible in so many ways: as a host, a curator of experiences tailored to your specific energy and season of life, and a cook of amazing, nutritious meals. Best of all, she hones in on the practical elements of a spiritual transformation that you can take back to "real life" with you so that your shift transcends the amazing but brief time in the desert. It's been two weeks since I returned from the retreat and the impact is lasting. Most profound is the realization that my happiness is not contingent upon doing or achieving anything. This has removed a perfectionist tendency and (perhaps ironically) allowed me to be far more productive with less pressure on myself. When I meditate, I remember the look of the stars in Joshua Tree, and somehow, I'm accessing the same incredible feeling. If you're on the fence about booking this, all I can say is it's worth it.

I felt safe with being real and exactly who I was without feeling judged or criticized by how I was feeling or what I was doing. She gently but productively guided me in such a way that was so deeply profound and moving for me. She helped me on so many levels (professionally, personally and spiritually -- all great stuff!). I cannot say enough good things about Mel - she is a rock and so grounded. She was exactly what I needed. Thank you Mel!

She was very responsive throughout the pregnancy, a wealth of knowledge when google searches were unclear. She helped prepare me for a natural, unmedicated birth with countless tips. She was also invaluable during early/active labor, helping with exercises to get baby in place and labor at home as long as possible. Most importantly, though, she provided the nurture and support that was non-existent at the hospital. This was my and my husbands first time experiencing childbirth and we assumed that the nursing staff would provide a caring and trusting environment during the labor. Really, the nurses were just there to monitor the stats, and didn't tend to my needs. It was Jenn who got me water, reassured me through contractions, held me through them when my husband was helping with something else, and translated what was going on when the nurses' communications were unclear. Her calming and encouraging presence got me through those final hours, and I really don't believe I would have been able to achieve unmedicated birth without her. Because of her, I look back happily and empowered on what I was able to accomplish, and am forever thankful for her support. If we are in this area with our next child, we will solicit her services again!

Our nurse at Scripps I could tell really respected her. She truly cares, is always within reach, and I feel so grateful that she was part of the journey to get my daughter here safe and sound!
