I'm pretty sure I'd tried Bloomer's at some point in the past, but I couldn't really remember and how can you not be skeptical of a vegan donut joint? The crazy thing is that Bloomer's outdoes most of its competition, vegan or otherwise, and I'd go so far as to say they've got some of the best donuts in the city. On this particular occasion, I got to try their Red Velvet and Pistachio cream filled offerings. Both donuts are almost intimidatingly large but that's never stopped me before. They're excellent. I especially loved the Red Velvet, as it contained the flavor I associate with that type and was full of delectable cream filling. I really appreciated that neither donut was too sweet. The Pistachio was terrific, too. Bloomer's is great, and it still blows my mind that they're completely vegan! read more

Came by as I was visiting the downtown area. I got the pistachio rose doughnut. It was delicious. Perfectly iced, not too sweet. The dough was chewy but soft at the same time. It was good size too! I did not share service was quick. There were tables to sit as well but I took it to go! I would definitely go back! 100% recommend if you love doughnuts! read more

Tried two donuts - the apple fritter and Ferrero rocher (filled). The apple fritter was tasty but had little to no apple filling in it. I wouldn't get that one ever again. However, the Ferrero rocher one was pretty amazing. If I didn't know what kind of donut it was, I wouldn't have ever guessed it was hazelnut. It tasted more like a gooey brownie filling with some tiny bits of nuts in it. But it has an amazing amount of filling and I'd definitely try a few others next time. My rating would be a true 3.5 but the apple fritter was only dough and brought the rating down. read more

Donut Shops are a special gem in any city and I think I might of just found my new favourite vegan donuts. I was walking down Queen Street East when I noticed Bloomer's. This small donut shop had treats in the window, merchandise, and the smell from the street just pulled me in. I was greeted by a friendly staff member when I entered and it only took me about thirty seconds to know that I needed to try Oreo donut. This donut was fat, covered in oreo crumbs, and was topped off with some chocolate drizzle that gave it that extra something. When I took my first bite of this donut, I couldn't help but notice that the dough was incredible, next level incredible. It wasn't cakey dough, but just a good amount of top notch dough that mixed with the toppings just made it the best vegan donut I think I've ever had. Overall, Bloomer's is my new favourite donut shop in Toronto, hands down. I loved every single thing about this place and as I write this almost a month later I can't help but crave another one. The staff was friendly, the donut was insanely delicious, and the location was top notch. Vegan? Not Vegan? Like Donuts? Eat Food? Either way, come get yourself a dang donut. read more

Don't be intimidated by the appearance of these donuts. I made that mistake when I was gifted a box of 4 by a colleague at work. When I opened the box, I was overwhelmed by how big and overly sweet the donuts looked. I felt so full just looking at them. I tried two of their donuts (cinnamon sugar and birthday cake) and to my surprise, they weren't too sweet at all. They were actually the perfect amount of sweetness and my favourite part is that they're light and don't make you feel gross after eating them. Really yummy! My favourite was definitely the apple fritter. They're soft and fluffy and exploding with flavour. The lemon iced one was also a fan favourite and even had a lemony tang to it. Yes- they are a little pricier then donut shop donuts but they are HUGE and vegan. The staff is always super friendly and informative- even when I take way too long to pick out my flavours! Fantastic vegan doughnuts. No one would know the difference. They stand up to the test with any doughnut, vegan or not. There's something, a kind of spice or fragrant herb that I taste in their dough that really gives it that distinctive flavour, and aroma. Successful operation they have going here which hopefully inspires even more people to create good quality, tasty food, without animal by-products. Popped into this place after finding it on the Toronto Vegetarian Association directory. Everything is vegan and the have a few gf treats. The donuts are huge and have many unique flavours but they are not gf. I got 2 boxes of 4 donuts to give friends and I got one gf vanilla sprinkles cupcake for myself. The cupcakes are frozen but I ate it several hours later so it was defrosted. It was so good!! They should make a gf donut! The London Fog had zero flavour of caramel, chocolate, black tea or bergamot. It tasted like nothing. What a fantastic donut! Honestly, had you simply given me this donut and not told me it was vegan, I would not have known the difference. I went on a Sunday afternoon with the intention of getting the seasonal carrot cake donut but, alas, it was sold out. I went with the Ferraro Rocher and what a fantastic donut it was. It was extremely and fresh, and filled with flavour although it did not taste overly sweet. I finished one and thought long and hard about picking up another but told myself I'd eat until next time to get the carrot cake donut I was initially craving. I went to the location on Queen and it's centrally located, surrounded by coffee shops and restaurants (so this can be an easy desert!) price came to $4.60 (with tip) and the shop was very COVID friendly allowing only two at a time. I stopped by Bloomer's for a little sweet treat while I was running a few errands on Queen West. It's a beautiful space that definitely catches your eye. Upon entering I was greeted with a very cheerful hello by the friendly staff who were willing to answer all my questions and gave me my drink recommendations. When I arrived it was towards the end of the day however there was still a great selection of pastries available. There were lots of interesting flavors and beautiful donuts and I'd love to come back and try a more adventurous flavor! I tried their sugar donut. It was very fluffy, yet the inside was a bit denser. It's a very filling donut, not too sweet yet satisfies your sweet tooth! It was a little heavy for me and just a tad greasy but this is just preference - it was a delicious donut!! :) The iced tea was great! It came unsweetened which was really great. Hubby and I walked in here thinking it was still the little french pastry cafe that I visited in the same location a couple months ago but instead we realized that it was a doughnut shop. We were hesitant to try a doughnut but then thought hey, we're already here so why not. We tried the pastacchio doughnut and it was so fragrant, one bite and we were instant impressed with the texture and flavour. Easily one of the best doughnuts in Toronto. And what's more is that we didnt even realize until after that Bloomer's was a Vegan bakeshop! We couldn't believe vegan could be so tasty! We brought home a couple more doughnuts to try but I will say when you have it fresh in store it's a lot better than waiting until you're home as the texture becomes a bit chewier the longer the doughnut sits out. Heard a lot of good things about this place - I got a sugar doughnut and a banana bread loaf for the baked goodie test. Totally agree with all the excellent reviews about the doughnut - absolutely worth it. The banana bread was weird though - dense, oddly over spiced and tough. Stay away from that option. The star of the show was a pint of pistachio ice cream that I literally could not stop eating. They make a range of oat milk based vegan ice creams, and the pistachio is the best I've ever tasted.
