I went in for a free consult, they encouraged me to try out contact lenses for monovision. It didn't feel like pressure at all. I did the contact, then returned for lasix. They offered medication to relax you if you feel like you would have anxiety. The procedure was so quick, literally less than 5 minutes. There was no pain, I didn't even think it was uncomfortable as others have reported. Maybe a bit awkward as they place the suction on your eyes. But there is no pain. Others have said that lasix is scary, and I really didn't feel that way at all, I guess there is a moment when you get under the laser and you have no idea what to expect or if you will feel anything. But the bladeless laser cuts your cornea, and they switch you over the lasix is like 30 seconds. Then they put drops in and send you on your way. Your vision is instantly different. I didn't experience the light sensitivity people talk about. Also people have said they were miserable after the surgery. I will say about an hour after, I just kept my eye closed, because it was watering so much, since they gave me medicine it made me tired, so I did take a nap, during that time it did feel irritable scratchy and watery. Then woke up and like night and day felt like almost nothing had happened. They have you wear the guard at night and have to put some drops in but you are literally back up and running the following day. It is honestly amazing. The staff were kind and courteous. I think the price was extremely reasonable, and ended up being 100 less than they originally quoted me. So I could not be more pleased. Would recommend this 100%. read more

My wife and I had LASIK surgery in 2000. Now 23 years kater I still don't use glasses for far vision which is what I had corrected. I was pretty severely near-sighted and the LASIK surgery was very successfull. I had a great surgery and I wanted to give a review based on a 20+ year time period. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Inattention to patient well being is what you get here. I wanted to see someone local for my cataract surgery so I chose here. The 1st surgery I was not properly sedated, ended up moving my eye because I was in so much pain during the procedure. I complained to multiple people before I was believed that sedation had not worked. Second surgery it was decided to do a block which numbs the eye entirely. After med was injected I mentioned to surgeon I could still feel. He didn't bother taking another look because I wasn't able to move my eye. I wasn't given any sedatives at all. I was made to suffer through another painful surgery. Even though I kept saying I was in pain, no one did anything to help me. This surgeon is a butcher. Don't go here for surgery. read more

On the follow up visit he refused to honor his Lasik insurance that I had purchased and refuse to refund it. I wasted $3400. I'm getting the left and right eye fixed at the Columbus Laser & Cataract Center. I wasted enough money here. The bottom line is that I wanted 5 to 10 years out of the Lasik surgery to make it cost effective. I told them I did not want the surgery if I could not get 5 to 10 of good vision. Since I could not get one year it must mean Doctor Shahin Shahinfar does not know what he is doing and I wish I would have gone to a better surgeon. This place only cares about getting the money out of your pocket and putting into theirs. read more

This office is outstanding. They go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and understand everything. Everyone was very friendly and treated you like family. I ended up having to have PRK and was very nervous and scared since I was by myself. They took wonderful care of me. I came from two hours away and stayed in a hotel. I inquired about LASIK through their website, and the following day Kelly called to answer any questions I had, and provided me with supporting links to their website and videos. She guided me through their process, and was very helpful. Brittany was my technician, and she was very personable and gave me her testimony about her own LASIK procedure. Kaitlyn assisted me with intake for my surgery, and Laurie was a great supporting person throughout the process. Surgery was very straight forward, and within 15 minutes of getting on the table (procedure was about 45 seconds per eye), I was in my g/f's car and being driven home. They all provided great support and education for post-op. Dr Blausey was helpful with the overall process and management of my surgery. 2 weeks out and I now have 20/15 vision, my eyes are like brand new. Money very well spent on this laser cut flap LASIK procedure. Cost was about $1600 per eye. read more

This is the worst doctor's office I have ever visited. The appointment was scheduled for 8:15 am and I did not see a doctor until 9:25. Not only that, the medical assistant who did most of the testing tried to diagnose me with astigmatism, a condition I have never even heard any other ophthalmologist suggest to me. She reeked, I mean reeked of smoke and I could barely stand having her hands near my face to do the eye exam. When the doctor finally saw me, he asked about the astigmatism and I told him I've never had that diagnosis. He then asked me if I had changes in vision. Thinking about the astigmatism question I honestly answered that the only thing I had experienced was some slight blurriness as far as night vision. He redoes the test the assistant had me do (just your basic is this lens better or is this lens better; which is better, one? or two?) and sends me on my way with my prescription. Doctor visit lasted all of five minutes. Fast forward to a month later and I get a bill from their clinic. They coded my visit as a "special visit" because I had told the doctor of some slight night vision blurriness to counter his astigmatism theory. So now I'm on the hook with my insurance company for almost $150.00 for the visit because it is no longer considered routine care. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC! they will try to make as much money from your or your insurance company as possible. The only reason I went to them in the first place is because Center for Sight was booked months in advance (probably because they are a much, much better office!!!). This office is a bunch of scammers and will give you the "HIPAA" reason when you ask them why your ROUTINE normal visit was coded as special, extraneous visit. Moral of the story, if you want to go to this office, BE WARY of being honest with the doctor, and BE WARY of false diagnosis. I am more than likely NOT the only person this has happened to. If you have gone to this place before, be sure to check your insurance statements! read more

I visited a couple places and went with Bloomberg because they fit my schedule best. Service was average, not bad but nothing to make me go wow either. I am disappointed in my surgery - got it done about 2 months ago. I was informed that my nearsightedness would not be "as good". But I was not informed that it would be gone completely. I would suggest you think twice if you are nearsighted at all. I went from wearing glasses/contacts all day to putting on and taking off glasses about 100+ times a day. What a hassle - and not what I expected at all. After a month i went back for a follow up visit and was told my eyes would stay at the vision I had at that time. I believe they are still getting worse - I have to keep buying new readers and I believe I may have to get prescription glasses because readers only go so far. Waste of money for me. read more

Worst eye appointment ever. A few years back I was very happy with this place. This visit was for a follow up on my second cataract surgery. The assistant was unpleasantly rough, jerky I guess would be a good word for it. She had trouble getting my eyedrops in and couldn't get the glaucoma test done - she said I kept blinking, I felt like she kept slamming the light towards my eye way too quickly. I've never had a problem with this test in my previous visits or with any of the other assistants there. Eventually I just refused the test and she told me the doctor would have to do it. She finally put me in an exam room and said the doctor would be with me in "a few minutes". Twenty five minutes later I walked out into the hall, didn't see anyone around, and then walked out of the eye center. So basically, I got to sit in their chairs for a while, got my eyes dilated (roughly), and didn't get an exam. Worst of all I didn't get to ask about the floaters left in my vision after the cataract surgery. I was very happy with this center three years ago after my first cataract surgery. It's totally changed now and I would find ANYONE else before going back here. read more

I had previously posted a very negative review based on the fact I was told it would cost me to get an exam after just 8 months post surgery. The office did call and set up an exam at no cost. They explained that they have some new staff that do not know all the rules and that they will get that corrected. As it turns out I do need additional surgery on both eyes but will be doing them one at a time under the warranty. I also stated the warranty cost me $200/eye which is incorrect it was $100/eye. I would like to apologize for my mistake. I also appreciate the doctor apologizing for the confusion and working at correcting the problem. read more
