I had great hopes for this Eye Care practice but have been very disappointed. My first visit more…read morethan a year ago went well enough.... So this year I brought my wife. This year has been a nightmare. I was assigned an appointment with Dr Hammond for glasses and contact lenses. During the exam, I asked for a glasses prescription for normal progressive lenses, and also a glasses prescription for 'computer' glasses which are simply progressives optimized for 36 inch viewing distance. I've had other eye care providers accommodate that request without hesitation. But not Dr Hammond. She flatly stated "No, I don't do that." Confused, I tried to clarify, at which point she became visibly agitated and curt. She said that "isn't how she works" and that the lab making the glasses could just adjust my prescription to make me computer classes. Wow. Never had an eye doctor express any concern with that request, and in fact a doctor at one of the chain eyecare places is the one who suggested it initially years ago. Then came the contacts. Here I asked for three lenses. Basically a far/near split contacts prescription and a third lens prescription for my right eye so I could swap out the near vision contact and wear far/far contacts in certain situations. She agreed, and wrote two prescriptions, but the office is refusing to provide a signed copy of the second prescription. Keep in mind this is a service I PAID FOR... so it's not like I'm asking for a favor. As an over 50 diabetic, I have special concerns regarding eyecare. Had high hopes for Comprehensive Eyecare of Central Ohio, but am beyond frustrated, moving toward disgust. So now my only recourse is to warn others via reviews on as many platforms as possible. TLDR: Go somewhere, anywhere, else!!! You'll avoid paying good money for curt attitudes and broken promises.

There is ample parking there, the check-in process was quick and efficient and the front desk team was very friendly. I had little to no wait to be seen. I was initially evaluated by a student who was thorough in her exam and questions. I was later seen by Dr. Morgan Marshall Murphy. Both of them were very professional and helpful as well as thoughtful in their questions and comments. I was prescribed medicine and sent home with detailed instructions. Overall the experience was a very good one. I will need my annual eye exam next year for contacts etc and i will return to Hermann & Henry.

Finally got around to going back with glasses simply asking they remove the anti glare and buff my lenses. Was told sorry been more than a year buy a new pair nothing we can do for you. Well these are glorified 400.00 reading glasses and the response in my opinion for a local eye doctor was pretty pathetic. I always try to shop local instead of big box but in this case big box out shined. Went to Americas Best. cleaned up Pickerington eyecare glasses for free. Waiting area: Clean. Organized. Cozy. Properly spaced for social distancing. Waited for about 3 minutes after check-in to be seen (mind you, I was also about 5 minutes late to my appointment - never underestimate Pickerington traffic!) Pre-exam imaging: normal exam (including the air in eye part). During this exam, I could overhear their team being extremely patient with a kiddo who was scared of the machines. I was impressed to hear the methods they used to calm the kiddo, build trust, and help the kiddos through their exam. I would say this place is kid friendly and they give lollipops post exam! With doctor: Dr. Pipo had a booming personality. He was energetic, kind, and really reviewed my case prior to examining me further. You know when docs ask "which is better? One or two?" And you can't tell the difference? He actually explained what the differences were while determining which corrections were needed for my eyes. Post exam: Laura (specialist) helped me with selecting my glasses. I told her the style I typically like and she brought ~10 pairs to try (which all met my preference along with a few fun frames). She helped me narrow the frames down and was extremely patient with me. 30-mins later, I picked the frames that we both agreed- totally matched me and my personality. After selecting the frames she helped me to assess the appropriate additions to make for my lenses and explain insurance coverage. Jessica (front desk) helped me with selecting the appropriate contacts covered by insurance. Overall- Fantastic staff. Fantastic facility. I look forward to meeting my new frames and going back again for my annual in 2022.
