The Assistant "Teri" was extremely rude and condescending and acted like I was wasting everyone's time by being there. Did I not know how to contact one of the urgent care clinics (I did see after that they had these but not open til 1pm). Did I not know that I could get Azo at any drug store? From what I understand this is just to help with the discomfort but doesn't exactly treat anything. Maybe she was having a bad day. I don't know. But I wonder why people go into this line of work if they just diminish your reason for being there?

I consistently feel well cared for from start to finish. The clinic is easy to access and there's plenty of parking, which is a huge plus. Overall, this is a place that truly values their patients. After calling and telling them (who has his chart mind you) about why he was sent there, they said he needed to go to the ER BEFORE they would see him. Seriously? Now we need ungodly coats of an er visit before a Dr will see us? So, they haven't even seen him yet and have given garbage quality of care and equally crappy service. Reviews from the last year on Google show patients 20, 30 and 50+ years are running for the hills due to how far this place has declined. Due yourselves a favor and don't even bother.

Scheduling (2 stars) For acute symptoms, they are great as they have a same-day clinic and an after-hour clinic. However, when it comes to non-urgent care, we need to wait for a long time to be seen. Recently, we tried to schedule an appointment with his pediatrician, but they were scheduling more than TWO MONTHS out! I ended up calling Kaiser, and he was seen at the Kaiser Everett Medical Center the following week. Also, it's a challenge to schedule an annual checkup. My son was born in March, but his annual checkup is now in May as it keeps being pushed back because of the lack of provider availability. Provider turn around (2 stars) We have liked every provider he has had at this clinic. However, we had to switch to different providers several times because they decide to become a hospitalist and stop seeing patients at the clinic. I understand that doctors move, retire, etc. However, it just happens so frequent at this clinic, and it's not great because we would like to establish a long and solid relationship with a Primary Care Physician. Urgent Care (5 stars) Their triage nurses are ready available to answer medical questions and schedule an appointment when necessary. The after-hour clinic hours are also great. Specialists (5 stars) Because they are part of a hospital system, referral to specialists has been relatively easy (if you can get an appointment with your PCP that is). My recent visit to the University of Washington Medical Center highlighted a striking contrast in quality and professionalism. PeaceHealth has declined overall, hindered by its gradual shift toward vertical integration--a situation that feels shameful. Bellingham urgently needs another hospital. Cordata reflects an overworked staff caught in the familiar pattern of primary care providers who fail to listen and just want your visit to be over because they have too many appointments.

After asking me a couple of questions, he diagnosed me very quickly. He knew immediately where it hurts and what movement induces pain and what doesn't. I found it very easy to ask him questions. His responses are always to the point. After 40 years of practice in family medicine, Dr. Gavereski is retiring soon (his retirement celebration is set for mid July). I'm glad that I was able to thank him today for his service.

I've never written a Yelp review, but after reading the last review I felt compelled to write of my experience because it is a world away from what that person experienced. I don't think the fact that you weren't married or had previous children was a reason for being turned away, but I do know that Dr. Shapiro has been full for years. I, myself, came to see her as a lesbian who had 4 children through donor insemination and she was always fine with it. Over my years with her she has been super attentive to all of my concerns and has seen me through some mental health crises/suicide attempt, caring for my very aged mother, the suicide of my son, and most recently, my transitioning to male. Although she's never had a trans patient before, she has taken over prescribing my hormone therapy and has been instrumental in getting me the letters I've needed for gender affirming surgery. I am beyond grateful for the years I've had with her and dread the day she retires (which I know is no longer on the distant horizon). I don't really think she needs any 5 star reviews since as I mentioned her practice is full, but I felt I had to offer a counter opinion to the individual that felt they were turned away because of having an "alternative" (?) lifestyle.
