20+ year member, have had multiple loans and I even have an account there for business funds. Have used their CD investment programs for micro investing for holidays etc. All my kids have opened personal accounts as they get old enough to start saving. No complaints really, always receive good service and feel like interest rates are super competitive. I wrote this review to offset the unfair reviews I saw. I'm a former employee there. They gave me a loan for my car and a week later fired me, and fought my unemployment for 7 months and I got behind a couple months. The job market is horrible and finding work is hard, but I've kept up most of my payments. Brian is mean, threatening and hands out personal attacks while he's threatening you. it's disgusting and he should find a different line of work. I guess it must work for them since he's rewarded there. I explained my situation, and I'm making payments the best I can but he's relentless. My last message to him was responded with this: please let me know when you plan to get this handled. your response will dictate what legal action may be necessary (which would be court on the old vehicle loan and repossession on the new one)...since you clearly intend on paying this on your terms and not on the terms of the contract...and you can spare me the sob story...you made choices then and now and have to deal with the consequences of them...its a part of life that we all have to take ownership of at some point...make a choice...deal with consequences...some just do it sooner than others Brian at Bloom Credit Union The ONLY reason I'm behind is because I got fired from there!!!! Do not by any means get a loan here. They do not work with you in any situation but instead make it more difficult to make any payments by tacking substantial amounts of $$ for Insurance when a policy is in place but doesnt have the right "Bloom" on it. They do not work with your insurance company to fix it either. You have to call their insurance handler and figure it all out on your own. It makes it impossible to make payments. Then they threaten you with Reposession. I am not treated with respect and feel the lowest of low here. Its as if Brian gets joy out of making people suffer. I am to the point of letting them win and allowing them to have these cars and just pay cash for future ones as the moving target of what to pay becomes a full time job and discussion with Brian monthly to figure out since their website doesnt show the correct amount. Sharing my experience as I hope my pain and stress saves others from going through this. I have had loans with other companies and it was easy to make payments and no surprises- save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

The manager named Brian Mathiot, a "manager" likes to right out threats to you. I have messaged him before letting him know Why I was behind, just remember that. Okay, I am two months behind in a 88$ monthly fee for my loan, I took out my loan for school so I could pay for it. I lost my job about a month ago and finally got back on steady feet. Paying rent paying for my car and having a full time just plus going to school also full time. To be working really hard to get back to paying my bills to receive a threat from him. Saying Since I haven't contacted him before and he tries to send me letters and phone call me and I guess everything that he can I'm just starting to try to contact me when I don't live at that house anymore one, two saying he's left me tons of voicemail when I don't have a voicemail box set up. So I email him back saying I plan on paying I told him why I haven't and he said "so when do you plan on paying" I told him my next check I'll pay and give up my rent for it. What a WONDERFUL GENTLEMAN LOL. I will be contacting you guys about having a different "manger" contact me from now on...... as he continues to email me right now he's very unprofessional with the threats he Made on top of the fact that if you are trying to get someone to pay, you think they would be nice. But not in this case was actually very rude and never inhumane.. From now till the time I pay my loan off I won't use MY PERSONAL CREDIT UNION besides to pay my loan off and then I'm dropping them like it's hot. If you have the audacity to treat your customers like that. A customers that have said my personal credit unions great you should take out alone there to many friends will now contract them and let them know about this incident. Very disappointed in the outcome! Once I told him that I would pay it over my rent then it's a different story, then he starts to be nice but ninest and being polite is a great thing for this gentleman and company to learn. read more

This credit union is a relatively small organization with local people serving local people, and they have been doing so for roughly 65 years. MPCU has a wide network of ATMs available nationwide, but there are only five (5) physical locations in the greater Grand Rapids area which serve Kent, Ottawa, Allegan, and Muskegon counties. Banking on-line or by telephone are also available. I intend to keep my accounts with MPCU for as long as I reside in southwest lower Michigan! read more
