I checked out the three suggested shops, and after looking through their galleries, called SYG. First, let me explain. I'm old. I make phone calls and still write checks. When a business actually provides a phone number and then ANSWERS it, it just makes my little heart sing! That's when I met Allison, who consistently went above and beyond to help me get exactly what was needed in the space, and her guidance was not only spot on, but very very appreciated. In any event, I described what was needed, and we discussed my vision of the event as well as that all important budget. I gave Sara, the designer, control over the flower selection, wanting her to be able to choose the freshest things and keep it seasonal. To say that I was happy would be the understatement of the century. The bride and groom were absolutely overwhelmed at the "reveal", and guests are still talking about it. Of all the vendors I worked with, Allison was hands down the best! She ALWAYS answered her phone, and if she didn't have the answer, told me when I could expect it. They were incredibly understanding when after the initial estimate came in that I had to make a few changes and we got more than I could have ever hoped for for the budget that I had in mind. Having been in the event planning business for a few years and working for a company that didn't…read moresettle for less than perfection, you could imagine my standards were pretty high when it came to choosing vendors for our wedding. I'm the type of person who needs to have total control of everything - I have a tough time delegating even the smallest of tasks to others as I've always lived by the mantra, "if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself." Well, working with Hannah at Propagate Studio for the past year and a half has given me an entirely new perspective on trust and respect for those who are wildly skilled in their craft - and Hannah's skillset can only be rivaled by her immense passion for her trade. Propagate Studio was one of the first vendors I reached out to as soon as that ring was slipped on my finger. I knew this would be Hannah's first wedding on her own as a small business owner, but I had long been admiring her work with other companies and truly felt she had the magic touch we were looking for to transform AND complement our summer camp venue - a tall order. Oh, and did I mention Hannah agreed to do our florals for THREE different events in one weekend (Welcome BBQ, Wedding, Brunch)?? An even taller order! We met in person and talked for hours about my floral vision - followed by months of me inviting her to countless Pinterest boards chock-full of scattered concepts and sending her photo after photo of inspo and décor I was collecting - she encouraged it and never batted an eyelash at my overbearing, overinvolved nature. She handled my rapid-fire communication style like a champ which caught me by surprise given her laid back demeanor. The more we corresponded, the more I could feel the weight of wedding planning begin to lift off my shoulders. She devised unique ways to repurpose some of the more durable pieces to cut costs when feasible and offered advice on floor plans, dresses, china, glassware, linens, etc. Her input and ideas were my guide to developing a cohesive décor plan that harmonized with our vibe perfectly. Before I knew it, she was taking my vision and running full speed ahead - she had gained my trust 100%. There is so much more that I could say about Hannah's artistry but my words would not do her the justice she deserves. I believe our photographer (Kaihla Tonai) said it best when she recounted the scene as "an entire camp drenched in unreal florals" and described Hannah's work as "insane." I'm so grateful for Hannah's involvement in our wedding weekend, for simultaneously allowing me to be totally hands on when I wanted and handling things completely on her own when necessary. Her work ethic is unmatched which irrefutably came to light while watching her pull everything together the day of the wedding. I'll end with this - we poured our heart and souls into planning this wedding weekend for all of the people we care about who came to celebrate our love - and perhaps no one stressed about how it would all come together more than my mother. One of her absolute favorite parts of the weekend was walking me down the aisle, turning the bend and seeing Hannah's chuppah for the first time - the goosebumps and feeling of assuredness that ensued from there on out are a direct correlation to how Hannah's creations will make you feel. Propagate Studios may be blossoming as a company, but Hannah's expertise is already in full bloom.
