I received a $79.99 arrangement from my husband through 1-800-FLOWERS, which was over $95 total with the deliver and service fees . What I received was a sloppy arrangement with a lot of filler that was not worth even $39.99. When my husband emailed 1-800-FLOWERS to make a complaint, they responded immediately stating they would have a new arrangement sent and issue us a gift certificate for use in the future. Shortly after, I was contacted by a rep from Seithel's Florist explaining that the arrangement they made was what I ordered and the reason it looked different was because the blooms were still in bud form. They said they would redeliver an arrangement that was in full bloom and would pick up the old arrangement. When I explained I took the arrangement home and could not bring it back until the following day, they said they would just reschedule the deliver the following afternoon - 3 days after the arrangement was ordered and well into our frustration with this whole situation. This is not the first time we have ever ordered or handled flowers. I know what florists charge for arrangements in Charleston as well as in big cities. The fact that this florist treated me like I didn't understand her simple business of flower arranging is an insult. I did not question the florist who called me because I was in shock at her lack of customer service skills and did not feel like I needed to defend myself from a service provider for a gift I was receiving. As a service person, she should have remedied the situation as soon as possible and gone above and beyond to make me feel like a valued customer. What she failed to realize is the building she was delivering the flowers to has over 500 employees in it. These employees are passing these flowers all day long while they sit with my receptionist who is taking pleasure in announcing that the arrangement was $95. The Seithel's Florist tag is still on it just as it was when delivered. I plan on buying a new pair of shoes with our refund from 1-800-FLOWERS. Cheers! P.S. First and foremost, the flowers were beautiful and my Mom loved them! The downside is I spent a lot of money on Mother's Day flowers for delivery on Mother's Day. Instead, the day before I received a phone call stating that Seithel's "does not deliver that far into Mt. Pleasant". It was a total load of crock! My childhood home where my parents still live is literally in the first neighborhood you reach when you go over the Cooper River Bridge! You can not get any closer to downtown unless you stand on the Yorktown. But they had me in a box so I agreed to delivery on the 12th. I called (rather last minute) to get some flowers for Valentine's day. The person that answered the phone was very nice, and accommodated my late order with no issues. When I went to pick up the arrangement, the person at the counter was extremely pleasant. The arrangement that I ordered was exactly what I wanted, and the price was great (especially since it seems a lot of other places mark up prices around this time). It was less than half of the price that all of the online flower places quoted (1800flowers, FTD, etc) --- and, I'm sure the arrangement I got was twice as good as what would have come from those places as well. read more

Seithel's delivered flowers to my work when I wasn't even working. Two coworkers tried to explain I wasn't working and refused to sign for the flowers. They left and returned 3 hours later with a box over the flowers. The coworker that refused them the first time came up and asked the man why they brought them back. He got an attitude with her and got someone else to sign for them. They basically didn't care if I received them. They only wanted to drop them and collect their money. I am so impressed with this florist! I called to order flowers for a friend that had just received some sad news, and the woman who answered the phone was incredibly compassionate and helpful. She agreed to do same-day delivery, even though the driver was about to leave for the day, and put together an absolutely gorgeous arrangement of flowers for my friend. I'm not in the area and didn't choose a specific arrangement online, so I was really pleased to see that what the employee had arranged was perfect for the particular situation. I ordered flowers to be delivered by end of business 7pm on Saturday 4/15/17. I in fact ordered online at 1:30am because my worry for my sister was on my mind & I wanted her to have something special today. I was sent a delivery confirmation at 4:20pm so I was initially thrilled that she had received them; until I spoke to her at 5:30 when she told me no she had not received anything. I called 1-800 flowers who told me "its normal to send a delivery confirmation as long as it is enroute" & that she had spoken to the florist & was told he was short handed & that's why it hadn't got to her home yet but was on its way. So I waited to hear back from her, I called at 8:30 & she had still not received anything. I called again & was told they couldn't find her house on their GPS but had spoken to her & have it all straightened out for delivery in the morning. They had NOT spoken to her so hopefully they won't deliver this 53.00 floral arrangement to someone else...I will not use this service again nor this florist again, (I declined the 20.00 credit as I will have no use for it). As for 1-800flowers this is the 3rd time I have had issues the 1st 2 were last year when 2 separate orders of flowers were sent one to SC & one to TX that were wilting on arrival & dead within 2 days...I did accept a credit for the issue & they resent the flowers that is the only reason I attempted to use their services again. Time to find another provider. So as of 4:30 Easter Sunday the flowers still not delivered as promised. I called 1-800flowers spoke to a nice supervisor ended up canceling the order & taking the credit offered within 30days the money will be back in my paypal account. At 4:50 my sister got a call from the delivery person who said he was on his way; she told him the order had been cancelled but not sure if he understood because she could barely understand him. My daughter moved to Charleston 7 months ago and I wanted to send her flowers for her birthday. I found this florist online and they seemed reliable from the reviews I read. When I called I specifically asked the young woman on the phone if they made morning deliveries. Since my daughters work is less than two miles from their shop she assured me they would be able to meet my request. They didn't unless you consider 2:00 PM a morning delivery. My daughter was happy with the flowers and that's important to me but having someone tell me they are going to meet a request I have made and then not doing it is unacceptable to me. Recently, Before Thanksgiving 2018, We encountered The Death Of A Member Of A Family Who Was Quite Close To Us. I Looked On Line And Found An Upright Funeral Arrangement With Stand, On Seithel's Website. One Thing I've Always Felt Important Is That When A Florist Guarantees A Delivery On The Same Day, That They Deliver It. Well, The Order Was Delivered Successfully To The Funeral Home At Bay, And Was Absolutely stunning. That Evening, Due To The Closeness Of Our Two Families We Thought, This Particular Arrangement Was Set Up For Everyone To See Directly At The Foot Of The Coffin Containing This Lovely Family Member's Body. The Display Was An Open Casket. At The Funeral, Again, My Wife Noticed That This Arrangement Had Been Placed In Our Church Again, Directly Beside The Casket Of The Deceased Member's Body. I, Myself Had Ordered It and The Price Seemed Fair. The Delivery Charge And Tax Raised The Bill Considerably (Approx. One Third). The Family Told My Wife And Myself That, Yes, This Deceased Person Would Have Wanted The Arrangement Placed The Way It Was. But, They Added That They Felt That it Was One Of The Most Beautiful Display Of Any Others That Were delivered To The Funeral Home. To This Day, The Family Members Are still In Awe And Always Mentioned What A Beautifully Put Together Display That it Was And They Are Awestruck By The Beauty, Which I Must Admit, I Also Felt Like Myself. I Will Be Using Seithel's Florist Exclusively For All Arrangements To Come And For All occasions As Long As I Feel That The Prices Remain Fair. Had bad experience with this florist. My son ordered flowers to be delivered on a specific Friday. They were not delivered that day nor was I called explaining a delay. In trying to contact the florist, they had closed for the weekend and we had to wait until Monday to find out what was going on. They were asked by the wire service to call before delivering because we had appointments until after lunch on Monday. We never got a call and later found the flowers just sitting on the porch. One flower was broken off and just laying there. While the flowers were all in tight bud form, there seemed to be no design to the bouquet with about 6 or more inches of greenery on the stems between the top of the vase and the blossoms. It looked like grocery store bouquets that you buy from a bucket and just stick in a vase. The wire service did give us satisfaction regarding our complaint. However, we would not risk using this florist again as they cannot be counted on to deliver on time and I had to cut down the stems and re-arrange the flowers to try to give some design to the arrangement. In addition, they don't use nice little gift cards but a large folded computer printout with both donor and receiver's names and info about the florist.
