After a failed attempt with a florist down the road, because they didn't want to sell me stock in case of arrangement orders:(. Believe it or not, I used to only use 1-800 Flowers, Telaflora, FTD Flowers, or Bouqs, but I would wind up terribly disappointed and with sticker stock over the lack of quality and volume -- so I tried The Flower Cottage on a whim. They have now become my "go to" for ordering flowers for Mother's Day, Easter, and birthdays. I am elated with the fact that it looks beautiful every single time and is shockingly affordable!! I contacted this floral shop by phone (found them by google) to order 6 low, airy flower arrangements for a company dinner. They were extremely helpful, so courteous and willing to go the extra mile. Thjs was all done by phone...the flowers were delivered promptly and they were GORGEOUS! Calling an out of town, unknown florist and trying to explain what you want and then the florists produces the arrangements and they are SO MUCH more beautiful than you expected is amazing! I was notified of the passing of my favorite aunt only two days before the funeral. I live in California and the funeral was going to be in SC. I found The Flower Cottage on yelp. I called them in the afternoon of the day before the funeral and asked if they could help. They were extremely helpful in locating all the information on the funeral. My son ordered an arrangement for his girlfriend for Valentines and went by the photos on line. I was the delivery driver since he is currently out of state and they don't deliver to N. Mt. Pleasant. The order was ready when promised and looked like the photo except the lillies weren't opened. When I asked if they could put at least one opened one in the arrangement they were happy to do it. They also explained the buds were not opening because of the cold. Very pleasant staff. The girlfriend loved her flowers and chocolates (also from The Flower Cottage). Had a death in the family last Valentine's day. I showed up at the shop early the morning of Feb 14th. Of course, they were very busy. I explained my situation, the fact I was 120 miles from home and needed flowers to bring my wife, SIL's and MIL some moment of joy. The women in the shop were very helpful, empathetic, spared me some roses and helped me pick out everything. They stopped what they were doing, prepared the arrangements and took care of what I needed. They really made my bad day much better. I was able to walk in with flowers for everyone and it was perhaps the brightest moment of the day. We have used them since with no issues. The other day I called around to get prices for a funeral spray. I was stunned at some of the prices that I was given. My friend told me to call the Flower Cottage. I called them and not only were they so reasonably priced but they were so accommodating since we were in a huge hurry to have them delivered. I can't remember the lady's name that took my order but she was so sweet and asked what I would like and said they would be delivered on time. I thanked her and hung up. I wasn't quite sure what to expect because I have ordered flowers, in the past, from other florist, only to be disappointed. When we arrived at the funeral and saw the spray we were so happy. I live in York, SC and my dad is in the hospital 3 hours away in Charleston and will be there through the holiday. Since I can't get to him right away, I wanted to send him something to cheer him up and placed an order online with The Flower Cottage. Someone from the shop called me at 3:00pm to let me know that they didn't have what I ordered, but when I explained the situation, she said she would make something happen. I received the best customer service from the sweetest woman who gave me a time frame of delivery and answered any questions I had. I was ordering for a friend who recently moved to Charleston and was going through a rough time. Not only did the flowers get there less than 2 hours after purchased but they were just as beautiful, if not more, as the picture shown on website. We selected local Charleston florist, Flower Cottage to deliver flowers on Valentines Day to our grandmother. We have had bad experiences with FTD type orders, flowers that look nothing like their pictures, we thought this time we go local to get better results. We couldn't have been more wrong. The order was placed 2 days ahead and prepaid, not an inexpensive order either! The flowers were NEVER delivered to my grandmother on Valentines Day! To make matters worse, I got an email that evening well passed the hours of operation saying they had driver issues and were unable to complete the delivery. Ok, this is so wrong on so many levels. They apologized, refunded me, upgraded my order and PROMISED the delivery would be made the following day. Ok--I was upset but grateful for their efforts. Wrong, again! The flowers were not delivered the following day. I had to call them at 06:00 PM to find out what happened to the delivery. Well, they informed me they were leaving on the last truck. 3 hours later...they still were not delivered. If I could give this experience, NO stars I would. On Wednesday I found the Flower Cottage online and spoke with them by telephone. I requested a flower arrangement be delivered to the Francis Marion Hotel by 2pm Thursday for my wife. At 4:30pm Thursday my wife had said nothing so I called and was told it was on the truck for delivery. Called the hotel shortly thereafter and they did not have the delivery. I called the Flower Cottage again and they were attempting to expedite the delivery. All good and we'll, but here is the thing. She will ultimately get the flowers, but here is the problem. Nothing can recreate the experience of walking into a room with flowers. She is out with girlfriends and will have the flowers in her room when she returns much later. Instead of a wow moment it will be a bit of a thud in my mind. This is the first review of anything I have ever written. It is however, the only way to express my frustration. read more

I used the flower cottage for my wedding for my bridal bouquet and two arrangements for the church. Very disappointed in this business. When I was charged an extra amount on my credit card that I did not authorize I decided to call to inquire why. Linda was extremely rude, I told her I wasnt satisfied that my bouquet came out a pepto bismol pink color instead of the white and pale pink I asked for plus several of the flowers were already dying and wilting and the arrangements did not look like the ones pictured on their website. Almost $500 is a lot to pay for 3 items and have them be less then par. I would not have wanted to write this review if Linda hadnt been so rude and unprofessional when I called but that is not any way to treat a customer. Extremely disappointed with The Flower Cottage. Placed an order with them that said it was same day delivery, wanted same day due to my wife's grand opening of her business. They delivered the following day and the order looked nothing like the picture on line. I even ordered 10 yellow balloons to coincide with the theme of the opening. When I saw what I had ordered my jaw dropped. First off, the balloons were an assorted array of colors that looked like an 8 year old's birthday party and then let's get to the "arrangement" that looked like the fake flowers that you get from dollar general. "I'm dead serious"! Spent almost 100 dollars for what I would have been much better to go to Walmart or Publix and do it myself, just wanted the convenience of the delivery. I work as a Club Lounge Concierge at the Sanctuary on Kiawah Island Golf Resort and had someone call at 5:30 PM on a Saturday night to have a $200 floral arrangement delivered to one of our guests' room that night. When he found out that was not possible, he requested Sunday morning instead. Keep in mind he requested this on a SATURDAY EVENING for a SUNDAY MORNING delivery all the way out here on Kiawah Island. We have a contract with a florist, but they can never under any circumstances come on a Sunday. We also keep spare arrangements on property from them for occasions such as this, but we had used all of them! The next closest option was Harris Teeter, but their florist was already closed. So I start calling around Charleston. I was lucky enough to hit the jackpot on my second phone call with the Flower Cottage downtown. The owner was there finishing up some paperwork and she was very accommodating, funny, personable, and efficient. I told her I needed them delivered tomorrow whenever is most convenient for them and was totally expecting them then. BUT she personally drove out here TO KIAWAH, TONIGHT, with her delivery guy and had them here before 9pm the same night. I had no idea she was coming out tonight until I got a phone call from a colleague downstairs saying one of our bellman was delivering them now! What an amazing unforgettable experience! They will forever be the florist I call when ours cannot do something for us. PS the arrangement was so big and full and beyond beautiful! read more
