The whole experience was strange and unsettling. I had others tell me they experienced the same and…read morecalled Scott Nugent (the 'practitioner') "weird." I was there for alpha gal treatment. First, the outside door is locked and you can't even enter until you're appointment time. Further, you can't bring anyone with you. The office is small and only one gal (a receptionist type) and Scott are in the office. They make you be on time and charge a whole lot of money if you're late or might even cancel if it's more than 10 minutes. I waited at least 10 minutes, then was taken into a room and waiting at least another 15 minutes before Scott entered. He did some tests and left with his computer. Another at least 10 minutes later he returned and said I was allergic to the metal and would need to take a "remedy" spray for 6 weeks before being treated. The spray was a small bottle of energy water that was $80! I did my diligence of spraying this "remedy" three times a day for 6 weeks and returned. Same experience - door locked, can't bring anyone in. Once inside, the 'receptionist' took the remedy bottle I was asked to bring with me into another room and then sat me down in her office and read a script from an IPAD. Repeatedly calling Scott not by name but by the "practitioner" and saying not to ask any questions during the treatment. After her lengthy 'terms and conditions' statement was concluded, I did ask where my remedy bottle went and she replied it was in the other room to see how much I had used. Strange but I didn't ask about it again. However, I did ask why she didn't call Scott by name since I had been there before and met him and that it seemed so impersonal. She didn't have a response. She then put me in the treatment room where I waited at least 20 minutes. She then returned and asked me to come with her back to her office. She said that they (Scott and her) didn't think I was a "fit" and would no longer treat me. She slid a paper in front of me that was a page/section of the lengthy papers a client must sign and she had highlighted a section that said something about negative comments about the treatment would be means for discontinuing treatment. I asked to see Scott and she said no - I never saw him in this tiny office that day - always was behind closed doors. I had paid the full amount of $550 the first visit and she said because it was their decision to discontinue treatment they would refund $200. They kept $350 for nothing! After 6 weeks of diligently taking the remedy and then trying to make the experience more personal by calling him by name, I was denied service and even the opportunity to talk to Scott. I was warned and now you are, too! Ultimately, I found a much better ear acupuncturist for way less money and no crazy fees and charges - very kind, open, no locked doors, ask as many questions as you want, and did great work - check out Encircle Acupuncture (Bellevue and East Nashville) and stay far away from Franklin Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine.
