I bought two pieces from them a large 5 by 5 foot island (3 inches end grain select walnut and a hutch top 3 cm side grain walnut. Both pieces are gorgeous and they charged me a third of what a local company wanted. It got splotchy on the trip to Georgia, plus I had to leave it outside for a week because our contractor had a terrible personal emergency. Still once it was waxed with the food grade wax sent along with the countertop, it was the most beautiful countertop I have ever seen. My kitchen cabinet builder (a true artisan carpenter in his 70s) is a gruff man who is very polite but not much gets him very animated and he did a double take when he saw the countertops. He called his son to come look at it. He smiled he rans his hand over the surface with satisfaction and asked me, "Do you have any idea, how long it took someone to make this thing? All those pieces have to be the exact same size and shape with no tolerance for mistakes." It was fun seeing him so excited about the countertop when he so often seems underwhelmed. Plus it made me so proud of my counters. They are really beautiful. I have a Boos 18x18 walnut chopping block and it isn't one bit prettier. Blockheads Blocktops are an incredible value. It does take awhile to have them made and sent but it was worth it. Everything in my kitchen took a long time to make but for something special it is worth it. These countertops deserve the overused word "bespoke." Also the people who helped me were the nicest, kindest most generous people. I couldn't be happier. read more

THREE DAMAGED COUNTERTOPS FROM THEM OVER MONTHS OF STRESS... I ordered a 93 x 54 ish walnut butcher block for my new kitchen island.. The first one arrived damaged with a nice v shape where they clamped down to move it with the hydraulic lift and a crack as well as several small blemishes. Since I didn't have a counter top on my new island we had to carry it in (400lbs) and just gently set it on the island until it was replaced. The second one arrived a few weeks later.. I had 20 mins notice to gather 4 strong men to carry the first one out (after having an installer come and take the faucet out etc) and carry the new one in.. On a week day. The second one arrived with a chunk missing from the top of the counter and a few minor blemishes. We were told to refuse it so we did.. We then had to carry the original one back inside and reconnect the plumbing etc. The third one (mind you this is from Aug -Jan) came and same situation except we were giving an hour notice to gather men at the last min for moving on a Week work day. We brought the old one out after un assembling everything and set it down.. Opened the crate.. looked good in the dark truck..so we brought it out into the light only to see it was cracked.. We refused that one as well and are asking for our money back. It has been so completely stressful I can not tell you. The workmanship is amazing.. They are talented.. The shipping process is crazy for that type of an item. They are now saying they have done everything they can do So I paid full price for a damaged countertop. DISASTER THEY SHOULD NOT SHIP .. IT SHOULD BE LOCAL DELIVERIES ONLY.. CAUTION IS WHAT I WOULD SAY... SHOP LOCAL. read more
