I was referred by the receptionist to see EJ, allegedly a master stylist. Don't get me wrong, he was a nice guy and very entertaining, so note that this isn't a personality rating, but he literally did the worst job highlighting my hair. I had harsh lines, uneven color, areas totally missed, and even red tones despite the fact that the goal was blonde. After submitting photos to the salon, it was agreed that this was not a job well done and needed addressed. They wanted me to go back to EJ to which I said was not an option. If it were a minor error, I get it, but why on earth would I allow someone who did everything wrong to "fix" it? Studio 6A understood my position and as a result, they suggested that the owner be the one to fix it. However, what didn't sit well with me is that the receptionist's exact words were "she will squeeze you in and all she needs is an hour" and put me on the schedule 3 weeks later because that was all her schedule allowed for. (sidebar, I was disappointed because I did communicate via email with Nicole who later tried to tell me that they never said that all she needed was an hour- but they did). I had submitted photos to other hair stylists elsewhere and had a couple of consultations after this EJ visit and they all agreed that this would require several hours and several subsequent visits before this could really be corrected. Otherwise, I would get hair damage that I was not interested in acquiring. Studio 6A does not offer refunds but made an exception and ultimately did. However, they absolutely 'nickle and dimed' me and only refunded me the color portion on the service and not for the entire visit which was color and cut. All I will say about the cut is that all I asked for were framing layers around my face and if you aren't interested in looking like you have blunt, staircase like layers- don't have him do that either. Ultimately, this trip will cost me likely two more trips before I can have my hair look 'normal' again. Terrible experience and this sucks for me!

I'd been going to a stylist set up in a Columbus location for a while, so since he didn't have a direct recommendation, I picked a SL location and browsed the local profiles. Each stylish independently sets their hours, so you aren't likely to get a walk in. Your experience will depend on your stylist's hours, offerings, and personality. That said, I like their set up and I had a great first experience with Dana. She was pleasant and talented and I think we'll vibe well.

Unfortunately, one of my gel nails chipped and fell off before the 24-hour mark. FYI, gel manicures usually last about two weeks for me. I was on vacation so I reached out to the manicurist on social media to give her the feedback and all I got was a "That should NOT have happened." I called the salon hoping they would be a little more apologetic and the person that answered was extremely cold and unhelpful. I told her that I basically didn't have a manicure anymore and she responded, "Umm, you definitely still have a manicure." She said I could get a 50% refund or could come in when I was back to have them fixed. I knew they would have been grown out by that time - little did I know, they would all peel off before the end of my trip. I guess I was looking for either a full refund or a free manicure since I had spent $70 and left a very generous tip but apparently they don't really care about customer retention. TRIAL&DAY OF I was a bit concerned to use a makeup artist b/c I was afraid they would put makeup on me-they've always done for everybody else instead of listening to what the bride would want. She was the very opposite. If I look back now at the requests I gave her I would groan of embarrassment but every reaction was honest and professional. She gave her professional opinion and always left the ball in my court to decide. I ended up completely changing my preferences by emailing her a instructional video on some KPOP singer's makeup. We didn't do a 2nd trial but after what she did from the 1st trial I knew she would do an awesome job regardless. She's got natural talent!! She worked with me on every twist and turn I asked and on top of that: She did a fabulous job! I absolutely LOVED my makeup on my wedding day. Shame on me I forgot to mention to her about my tattoo that needed to get covered up. I was sooo very thankful that she did everything to make it right! Somehow she made my skin looked completely flawless in the picture and I didn't even want to wash my face off at the end of the photoshoot. Then she sat with him while I had a Mommy cut with Brigitta. I drastically needed a haircut because I had a ton of short hair grow in after postpartum hair loss. I wasn't expecting my haircut to be free with a Wigs for Kids donation, so I got a much needed conditioning treatment as well. I'm so thankful for this location's patience and love for kids.
