I found a Groupon discount for $138, but the salon charges $150 normally (a huge discount compared to salons in the area that charge over $300 for the SAME treatment). Danielle, the owner, took care of my hair. She was friendly and fun, and made the entire experience pleasant. The Keratin treatment is amazing! My hair is much more manageable, smooth, and way less frizzy/curly. You cannot beat Blown Away Blow Out Bar's... - Prices - Amazing Services - Dedicated and professional staff ... GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!…read more I have been a client of Moxie Morristown for over two years. I originally found the salon through Groupon and was fortunate to work with Lella, who was excellent. Because of her professionalism and skill, I purchased multiple packages for haircuts, glazes, and color services. Unfortunately, my experience with the Morristown location steadily declined after she left. First, I was reassigned to Cece, who then left. Next, I was scheduled with Lucas, a Master Colorist, only to learn shortly before my appointment that Lucas would not be available and I would instead be seeing a brand-new stylist. At no point was I contacted beforehand and given the option to reschedule. Instead, I was simply moved from one stylist to another based on availability. I understand that employee turnover happens, but clients should not be treated as interchangeable appointments. If I book with a specific stylist, especially a Master Colorist, I expect to be informed if that person is unavailable and given the choice of whether to proceed or reschedule. Because I was uncomfortable with the constant reshuffling, I visited the Moxie Montville location instead. The difference was remarkable. The staff there were professional, accommodating, and took me immediately. I was so impressed that I purchased an additional package to continue services with them. However, because Morristown refused to refund the remaining balance on my package, I was forced to return there to use my remaining services. That decision turned out to be a mistake. At my most recent color appointment, the stylist failed to review my color history and used a reddish shade that was completely different from my established color. I didn't realize the mistake until I got home. When I returned and asked that the error be corrected, I was told they could not fit me in until the following day. Once again, Moxie Montville stepped in and accommodated me immediately. They corrected the mistake the same day. What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability from management. Rather than taking responsibility, I was told that the Montville location should have entered my color information into the system. Yet I personally confirmed that the information had in fact been entered. The issue was not missing information--it was that nobody at Morristown took the time to review it before applying color to my hair. Throughout this process, manager Chaya did little to resolve the situation. I was repeatedly told that refunds were not possible and that I would need to contact corporate myself. Between the constant staff turnover, poor communication, scheduling practices, color mistake, and lack of accountability, I can no longer recommend the Moxie Morristown location. If you value consistency, communication, and attention to detail, I would strongly suggest considering another salon or, at the very least, a different Moxie location.

And Victoria from Luxe on Main did not disappoint. Like others said, the place is not pretentious and makes you feel at ease. They didn't push any additional services at you. Although I'm usually not a chatty person, I really enjoyed talking to Victoria during the whole process. She knew exactly what I wanted with my hair and delivered above and beyond. I would never come here due to the staffs questionable decision making skills…read more Today while walking the street and attempting to dine with my family I witnessed an employee attacking a delivery truck driver that was blocking their driveway. Rather than using manners, the employee blew up, harassing the driver with screaming, cursing, and getting in his face while he was simply trying to complete his job and move the truck. Blocking a driveway is a minor inconvenience and not one that warrants extreme aggression. I'd hate to think what would happen if something went wrong during an appointment and god for bid you didnt tip well, you might get hit! Remember that your actions are seen by others around you and it's important to maintain a professional aura at work even when things aren't going your way!

BEWARE!!!!…read more It's very disappointing to say that blo lounge took full advantage of myself, the bride and fellow bridesmaids last weekend. Basically, they overcharged each girl with no rhyme or reason and claimed that we were getting a "wedding special". I love how when you attach the word wedding to anything, the price automatically doubles! Here's how it went down for me: I asked for the look book and I was denied. It's clear on their price list that a blow out including hair wash and hot tools is $35. a braid is $15. When it was time to do my hair, I asked to have it washed and they refused. They said the curl will hold better without a wash (umm ok sure but I go to other blow dry bars all the time and they don't refuse a wash and my curls always come out fine). She spent about 20 mins curling my hair and doing the side braid. It fell out twice during the course of the day but they did try to fix it for me. I was thinking in my head: Ok so it's $35 for the wash, blow out and hot tools but since I didn't have the wash or blow out it's probably like $25. Braid is $15 so total $40. When it was time to pay she said $65 and i was so surprised. She said it was a "wedding special". I asked to see the price list showing the wedding special pricing and she said she didn't have it. I still don't get how that's a "special.". I challenged her on it but she stuck to her guns that it was $65 and it wasn't the time to argue. My friend was getting married and I didn't want to spoil her day. A couple of days later, after the bride found out how the blo lounge screwed each of her bridesmaids, she called and asked to speak to the owner. Long story short, they are not interested in making the situation right and keeping a good reputation. Sadly, they don't appreciate their customers and aren't interested in repeat business. Sorry Blo Lounge but if you are going to overcharge your clients, I can't imagine you staying in business much longer. Karma.

Hair and equipment all over the place. She barely sprayed some water in my hair and proceeded to rip through knots in my ends. Didn't ask me what side I parted my hair on usually, didn't put any product of any kind in my hair, and when she did the face framing, she left me with blunt edges that made me want to cry. Edited: she didn't show me my layers in the back but when I got home and looked it's worse than the front. I never should have gone here or paid for her to ruin my hair! I walked out googling a salon near by to fix her work and everything was closed. I would have asked her to fix it but I didn't trust her skills or abilities. I added photos and I can't believe she finished the framing and said "perfect." That really nailed it in that she didn't know what she was doing.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst salon experiences I've had…read more I arrived with an inspiration photo of the hairstyle I wanted. My stylist, Alicia Coleman, barely spoke to me before immediately taking me to wash my hair. I actually had to stop her so I could show her the reference photo. She gave it a quick glance, said, "I got you," and that was the extent of the consultation. As she styled my hair, she kept turning my chair away from the mirror so I couldn't see what she was doing. Every time I tried to look, she turned the chair even farther away. I found it very odd because I wasn't able to see the styling process or offer any feedback. Had I been able to watch, I could have pointed out that it wasn't going in the direction I wanted before she finished. When she finally turned me around for the "big reveal," I was shocked. It looked nothing like my inspiration photo. She had curled all of my hair toward my face instead of away from it, and the style was completely different from what I had requested. I wanted a side part with hair softly covering part of my forehead. When I asked if she could fix it, she told me I had too much breakage to achieve that look. I was already running late and didn't have time to stay, so I left extremely disappointed. When I got home, I had to completely wet my hair, blow-dry it all over again, and curl it myself from scratch. I was able to recreate the look I originally asked for with no problem. Paying $50 for a blowout that I had to completely redo myself was a total waste of money. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.
