Instead of going high with the clippers, he stayed low and left some length up above to allow for some movement of the hair. No one has cut my hair this way (to my recollection) and I was very happy with the result. The best haircut I've had in quite some time. Rather than going into detail for the sake of keeping this review on point, let's just say that I walked out of the salon with an experience that left a lot to be desired. I wrote to the owner Kelsey and expressed my dissatisfaction with the services provided and not only did she offer to make things right, but she offered to fix my hair herself. It really says a lot about a business when the owner is not only open to criticism but accepts responsibility. What a night and day experience I had this time. I was given five star service treatment from the offer of complimentary beverages to the warm towel and scalp massage at the sink. I am extremely pleased with the results. I have a friend of my who travels quite a bit. One moment he is in North Carolina, and the next he's in Las Vegas. He has the Great Clip app, and I thought, " What a dope!" Why do you need an app for a haircut. Well, I take all those words back and more. This is a very handy app to have. Here's how it works. Create an account and enter your location while only using the app. There are usually 5-10 Great Clip locations in each metropolitan area, sometimes more sometimes less. With the app, you can see the expected wait time at each location. Pick your location, and then figure out how it will take you to get there so there's not prolonged wait time in the lobby. It's genius. I've used this app in Meridian and have been serviced at three different Great Clip locations. The service is quick, friendly, and professional. The best service I received was at Eagle and Chinden location near the Fred Meyer. I don't remember the name of my stylist but she was a rockstar.

The manager actually told her at one point to get to cutting. She took so long and I had to step out for another appointment. I was gone all but 5 minutes and in that time she managed to butcher my daughter's hair beyond repair. My daughter has thick, curly hair and this lady was NOT qualified to even consider cutting it. Not only did she cut it almost two inches more than we asked, she then blew it out straight and styled it to look like an older woman. My daughter is 12... to say her self esteem was shot is an understatement. I called later to talk to the manager Rachel, and she said I'd receive a call back from their ops manager in 5 minutes. THE NEXT DAY I had to call to follow up. The ops manager finally called me and said the stylist would be receiving classes and had to shadow other stylists. Ok... why was she allowed to cut my daughter's hair!? Rachel even mentioned to me that she saw what was happening to my daughter during her cut and was "aware of the situation". Again, how is this woman allowed to cut hair!? Don't worry, they offered me a gift card to make it right. A gift card!? Like I'd ever go there again! Refunds are against their policy. So I basically paid this woman to destroy my daughter's confidence with no recourse. Do not go to Great Clips. There's a reason these stylists work there and not high end salons.

Otherwise, I love the warm yet functional interior of Mane Street Salon. I had a hard time finding a trustworthy stylist when I moved to the area and went 6 months between colors. By word of mouth, I found Kari. She was so incredibly warm, understanding and desperately wanted to fix my gray. I think she actually cared more about my color and finding the right color for me than I did. What a gift. She worked to find the right color mix and she expertly went to work. She was careful to make sure my clothing and facial skin was clean and dye free. Within a short amount of time, I was gray-free with fabulous auburn hair. She's continues to have the same level of diligence every time I go to her and I'm happy to say she's the only one I trust with my hair.
