Otherwise, I love the warm yet functional interior of Mane Street Salon. I had a hard time finding a trustworthy stylist when I moved to the area and went 6 months between colors. By word of mouth, I found Kari. She was so incredibly warm, understanding and desperately wanted to fix my gray. I think she actually cared more about my color and finding the right color for me than I did. What a gift. She worked to find the right color mix and she expertly went to work. She was careful to make sure my clothing and facial skin was clean and dye free. Within a short amount of time, I was gray-free with fabulous auburn hair. She's continues to have the same level of diligence every time I go to her and I'm happy to say she's the only one I trust with my hair.

THE STYLIST: Jen arrives from Salt Lake City where she had fifteen years of experience as stylist at an Aveda salon - with all the great training Aveda provides. I imagine Jen's former clients in Salt Lake must really be missing her - and their Facebook posts say that is true - because Jen just cut and colored my hair for the first time and both services were simply top notch. My hair is fine - and I have found that unlike fine wine, fine hair does not improve with age - and challenging to cut. I have tried a number of different stylists in the six years I've lived in the Boise area and Jen provided not only the best cut to fit my hair that I've had here but among the best cuts I've had in a dozen years. (And I say that from the perch that my long term stylist in my previous city was crackerjack good.) Jen's advice on color was expert too - and yes hiding gray is part of my needs and wants list at this age - and I'm equally as delighted with that part of her work to improve on what was not looking good previous color work done elsewhere. Jenna Leigh, colored my hair and when I left I was absolutely thrilled with her work. Unfortunately by the second wash it was evident that the color was washing out. When I spoke to Jenna about it she, advised me that she put in a rinse and not a hair dye. Because of Jenna's verynegative response I am leaving this review. I've included photos before and after. I paid $475 for the coloring. After the tip and products the total came to $550. I don't mind spending the money but the pictures will show why I am unhappy.
