You "can" take your film to a big pharmacy chain to have it developed, but those companies ship out to a third party. It takes time. There's a risk of damaging the film. It's not supporting local. Kerry's team does it in house & does it quickly. They also use WeTransfer now, so if you don't need your negatives, you don't have to go back to pick up your goods. The prices are super reasonable & all the folks who work at Kerry's are pleasant to interact with. Highly recommend Kerry's & all of her film-related services. I can't speak to printing & framing & whatnot, but if they apply the same diligence they use for developing film to their other services, I'm sure they're fabulous.

First and foremost, when I booked my time slot for their monthly Pin-up Workshop, Brittney Fusco (the photographer) contacted me immediately and was incredibly helpful. Within the weeks leading up to the shoot, I received several emails about how to prep for the shoot and also what type of outfits/makeup to bring to the shoot. These were so helpful and definitely eased my nerves on the shoot. Prior to my shoot, the closest thing I had to done to anything like this is some "before a crazy night out" photo shoots with friends in college. You know exactly what kind of shoot those were. :) They recently moved into a great little space right off the Rhode Island Mall exit off of 95 South. The place is a little tricky to see as they are still working on getting some signage but once you walk into the studio, you automatically feel right at home. The shoot itself was lovely. For a mere $35 (amazing, I know) I was locked into an hour session. The first 30 mins were spent by Tiff (Brittney's sis) doing my make-up and Heather Bettencourt doing my hair. The transformation was fabulous. The last half hour was spent actually in front of the camera with Brittney snapping away at every pose I could come up with. They have loads of vintage clothing and antique items to really make all of your pin-up dreams come to life. I kept it simple and nautical. Brittney is a dream to work with because she makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera and although it was only 30 mins. I never felt rushed. Not to mention her puppy Purl made the shoot that much more adorable. I left the shoot with a little goodie bag with my name on it and it really was the icing on the cake. The turnover for the photos was relatively quick as well. For the package that I selected, I saw about 17 proofs and picked 4 for her to work her retouching magic on. A few days after that, they were posted and I was completely amazed at how they came out. She truly does amazing work and any girl looking for a little indulgence and should definitely look to Brittney and Poppy Photography to make it all happen.

He was a little more expensive at 12.84. But he took about 5-6 shots and posed me a bit to get the best shot. He also had the print cut and shaped. AND he provided a little envelope to store the photos. He is professional and very quick for passport photos. In comparison to other shops that are crowded and hot, with no retakes, no help on posing, no print cutting, and no envelope to protect the photos. $8.95 for the other shops. So, if you want a pleasant experience for a couple bucks more. I would try here. I will also be trying him for our Christmas photos.

Now that was the US passport photo. When I needed to get a Canadian passport photo for the same daughter, just the thought of going to the same places got me frustrated as the Canadian have very specific measurement to their Citizenship as well as passport photos. I randomly called John Gaspar photographers. The moment he picked up the phone and started talking to me I knew I found the right place, as he knew exactly the measurement needed for the Canadian photos. My wife went to his store and was amazed by the speed and the professionalism at which Mr. Gaspar took the photo and she loved the outcome and actually blamed me for not finding him sooner having to go through what we have been through with the US passport photo.
