We had our hotel booked at the RUI Jalisco in Puerto Vallarta. When we arrived after a long travel time with our young children (4yrs,2yrs),16 of our family members were being told that the hotel was overbooked and they needed to go to the RUI Palace. We told the front desk that we needed to go with them but they refused to allow us to go with them. After explaining that 16 of our family members were going, they still refused. Finally, after 10-15 minutes of confusion, my Uncle was able to convince them to let us come with. Needless to say, we did not want to be separated and after all of the long travel times my children were hungry and very tired. When we arrived at the RIU Palace most of our family was told that it was an upgrade from RUI Jalisco but my wife and I did not think so. There was absolutely nothing to do for our kids. The kids area only had 2 small things to climb on and a pool smaller that 3 ft. wide. We had to try and entertain our kids without any events or games provided by the hotel itself. Our room was incredibly worse. All of the end stands had glass coverings on them and after being in the room for only 8 hours our youngest son managed to fall on a coffee table and split his eye. The wound nearly needed stitches. The room also had stairs that both of my children continuously fell down. On top of the that, the room did not have a deadbolt so we were forced every night to lock our stroller wheels and set it in front of the door and hope our children wouldn't escape during the night. Ultimately, we were very unsatisfied with the vacation. We wonder what the point of booking a trip through both a travel agent and an all inclusive package through Apple was if the hotel can be overbooked without either knowing it. How could neither know this before we left?

Got the run around about price checking and getting a lower price if available. The people we booked with got a lower price by over $200. They then gave us the run around that they booked a week after us so it was cheaper. Then why not price match like you said since it was after we booked? They are just shady in general and I would recommend spending your hard earned money elsewhere.

Well, I got there approximately 1:30 and come to find out no one was there to help me. One woman said she would try but all she did is give me some books and said she would have Lisa call me. She left Lisa a note with my name and phone number. She told me Lisa would call. Well, Lisa did not call so guess what I went to another agency and I am at the stage of booking my trip.
