I am very disappointed with Blinds of All Kinds. 9 years ago they installed the drapes in my house, and they did a great job. About two weeks ago the strings to open and close the drapes broke and I called them to see if they can fix it. I spoke to a person named Kathy, she said she was going to call me back with pricing which she never did, I had to called her back, she did apologize profoundly for forgetting to call. Their price was 160.00$ for installing a baton to the curtains so that I can pull to open/ close them. Not what I had before, but it was cheaper than to redo the whole thing again. I accepted and scheduled and appointed to have a guy come and install it, but... she wanted me to pay the whole amount up front! The reason that she gave me, was that some customers refused to pay their balances and that a lot of companies are opting for this method. I told her I didn't feel comfortable doing that because I've paid in full before and I had to sue the person because he didn't do the job. The other option that she gave me was to buy the baton and install it ourselves. I know it's not a big amount of money, but who pays for a job that hasn't been done???? The reason for this review is to give a heads up to any person or company that wants to work with Blinds of all Kinds, they expect you to pay first before they do their job OR maybe they just didn't want to waste time for only 160.00$ and if this is the reason for this absurd method of business, they should have said no, in the first place. read more

We live in Winter Park, FL. In 2020, we purchased three Hunter Douglas (HD) power shades from Florida Living Quarters (FLQ) in Lake Mary, FL. 2 weeks ago one of the shades malfunctioned. We called FLQ to request a service call, but they refused, saying that they no longer did business with HD. We called HD Tech Support, and they recommended we contact Blinds Of All Kind (BOAK) in Rockledge, FL. What a great recommendation! Even though we are outside of BOAK area of responsibility, their repair expert, Mr. Aaron Du Pont, gathered all the information we could give him, and called HD for us and had them open a "case" on our problem. Further, he is also acting as intermediary wi HD, and thanks to Mr. Du Pont, we are now well on our way to having our shade problem corrected. Do not buy from this business! my experience was terrible and the product itself is low grade. Valerie Meyer did the measurements and when the blinds arrived with the installers the blinds do not retract fully so 6.5 inches on each side of my French doors are covered. The installer told me the blinds must be 100% what I want or they will fix them. I read the contract which clearly states, as well as all over the website, that measurements are guaranteed. When I told Valerie the measurement is off she said it wasn't and I was wrong. When I told Valerie what the installer said about 100% satisfaction, she said, that installer knows better and I will talk to him.She took responsibility for nothing. She suggested I get outside mounts instead so that I could get back the 13 inches of glass covered by the blind. I asked her to send me what that would look like and she never did. I did my own research after waiting 3 weeks for her email. I called the office and said I was ok with the outside mount. Then I get a bill for the same price I paid for the blinds! Valerie failed to mention that her "compromise " was to charge me again. The product is low quality and the most importantly not guaranteed. Once the plans are drawn up the whole thing is a done deal. Valerie said the website is wrong, the installer misspoke, her measurements are perfect because she has worked here for 10 years. Today I had a very large outdoor shade screen installed on my lanai. Derek and Taylor were very professional and proficient installers. They were both very neat and clean in the work area provided. The install was somewhat complicated do to the size of the screen, but Derek and Taylor handled every bit with no problems. I was in town town for less than 24 hrs to visit and do some repairs on my mother-in-law's home, which included the blinds which had been installed about 5 years prior. I took pics and parts into their repair shop because I'm a DIYer and a bargain hunter. They honored their warranty in every way. Since the blinds were out of production, they made a new track for me to reinstall within my very limited time frame. Went by yesterday afternoon for window coverings for our new home in Viera that is close to completion. Talked to Kathy(?), set up an appointment for her to come and give us an estimate (Website says: FREE Design Consultation). Gave her all our info. Then, she springs out a $75 charge for coming to our home and giving us an estimate. It took my wife and I about 30 seconds to say "please cancel our appointment" and to leave the facility. Disappointed with product. Nice salesperson but the vertical blinds I purchased are a disappointment. Had them installed. Then when trying to open them and slide them to one side they stuck. Called and they sent a guy out and he sprayed some stuff in the tracks and said pull them multiple times and they will lay flat on each other. Well the problem wasn't fixed. Had two guys come to look at them. They also moved them around so they would lay flat against each other and sprayed the tracks. I asked it they could leave the can of spray and was told no, it costs about $10.00. So after three times of someone here I still have gaps in the blinds. Not acceptable. read more

Zero stars for judgmental employee This was an interesting experience. I just moved to the Viera area and needed blinds for my entire house. I went into Blinds of All Kinds after furniture shopping down the street. I liked their showroom and felt they had a good selection and offered many custom products. What I didn't like was being treated like I couldn't afford anything. Every product I looked at, the salesman told me was expensive. He brought up cost numerous times and was discouraging as I asked about several shade options. I felt as if he was judging me the entire time, like I couldn't afford the products I was looking at. He acted as if I was wasting his time. I wasn't dressed or groomed poorly, but I wasn't wearing any jewelry at the time. Is that why? I have no idea and it shouldn't matter. People should be treated nicely no matter what. I'll thank Blinds of All Kinds because if I hadn't had such a crappy experience in their store, I wouldn't have found the designer I ended up using. She came to my house for free with samples of the products I was interested in plus a few other suggestions. We came up with a design plan and then she also came on installation day to oversee the process. No designer typically does that! My 94 year old father ordered 2 blinds that were 2ft by 6 feet. Because he is elderly and lives on the ocean, they took full advantage of him. They charged him $1200!!!!!! They are con artists. I called back, anonymously, and they gave me a quote of $600 for the same blinds. When I called to get a quote from Lowes, it came out to be around $300. I purchased Hunter Douglas wooden blinds from Blinds of all Kinds, when we built our home in 1999. The wood slats are in great shape but they informed me they can not restring and/or repair them. I am willing to pay to have them repaired. If I wanted all new treatments I believe they would be here tomorrow. I can't see wasting the wooden slats that are already sized for my windows and are still very usuable. If they had made an honest effort to assure me they cannot be repaired I may have purchased all new treatments from them I paid them to replace other window treatment I purchased from them, in the bedrooms, which shows I am a standing customer.
