I've waited a while to post this, to make sure it wasn't an emotional reaction. I don't believe it is.
1st, understand that "family owned" is a business name, not a state of being. The current owners have *not* owned Blessing since 1944. Different families did, and the difference between the service those families provided, and what's now offered, is glaring.
2nd, please, please, PLEASE, read other reviews about the company that currently owns Blessing, and pay close attention to how many people say their loved ones looked wrong, or disappointing, because that's the sad truth of it. They take your loved one from wherever they expire and pack them away in a so-called "care center" in a completely different city, only returning them hours before visitation or service when it's too late to correct their appearance. Our family member was unrecognizable, and had discolorations that weren't present at their time of death.
We never had the impression that they cared about the treatment of our loved ones, at all. They added to the stress of the moment, rather than making things easier. When my grandmother died years ago, they were downright rude to me, and other relatives were treated similarly with our more recent experience. read more
